Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Philadelphia
Fogo de Chão is an authentic Brazilian Steakhouse (Churrascaria) that has been setting the standard in Brazil for the past 36 years. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill and carve tableside each of our cuts of meat like Picanha (signature sirloin), Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Fraldinha (Brazilian sirloin) Cordeiro (lamb) and more. In addition to the main dishes, enjoy our gourmet Market Table, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list. Guests can also choose to enjoy lighter seafood selections or enjoy the gourmet Market Table only option.
We also offer semiprivate and private areas that can accommodate parties up to 120.
The food was great! The service was on point! The ambience was sufficient and the cocktails were out of this WORLD! Habanero Mango Cachaca for the win!!
Very good place. Went at 6, wish there were more stakes to choose from. Staff very friendly.
I love Fogo De Chao! This was my 6th time here. Usually everything is really good but this time the quality wasn’t there. I usually only eat the steak but yesterday I decided to try the chicken and the pork. The chicken had a weird after taste that didn’t sit well with me. The pork tenderloin gave me a similar experience. I guess it just wasn’t a good day.
I come here all the time I love fogo. The waiter stop showing up for more drinks waited over 1/2 hour. We had to keep asking for other meats beside top or bottom Sirloin steak. Just wasnt a good experience. Wasnt worth my $400 check that night thats for sure.
My dining experience was very disappointing. The food was not as good as it is normally. The variety of meats actually offered to us was less. I opted for the full experience but yet I had to request for the table sides (bread, caramelized bananas, mashed potatoes) half way through my dinner. After I finished dining I figured that it was just an “off” day but the night became worst when the waiter insisted that I pay for my six year old daughter. It clearly states that children under 7 is complimentary. So after not being impressed with the food and then the false advertisement, I will never dine at this location again. Besides, there are other options for Brazilian steakhouses in center city.
Market table is always plentiful, and prices right. New Produce Company supplier, but couldn't tell the difference
This restaurant has really gone down as my most recent dine in experience. There was a shortage in the lamb chops as our table of 9 had to request for it about 4-5 times before everyone got a piece of lamb. We were very disappointed since this is an AYCE type of place.
We wanted to try this restaurant because we had been to Chimas. Although we knew we liked Chimas, we thought we’d give “the other guy” a try. Bottom line, we won’t be back. It was only okay compared to Chimas. Nothing really negative to say, just a matter of preference.
Have been to Fogo’s several times mostly the Baltimore location. This visit in Philadelphia was good nothing that stood out as great. The food was okay, not a lot of choices as they did not circle the dinning room on a constant rotation. Did have to ask for a specific item which took 10 mins but did receive and was good.
Although the restaurant was less than half full, we had a reservation and arrived on time only to be kept waiting for fifteen minutes. We haven't been there for a few years and thought it would be a good place to take people who are on the "keto' diet. It was not nearly as good as we remember.
Went here for my fiancée’s birthday and we loved everything about it. Definitely will be back!!!
Food was wonderful. Very loud and difficult to get servers to bring meat. Got ran into a lot by servers because the dining room is so packed with tables.
Hate waitress speak too fast !
nice place, but slipping in service and offerings, servers passed our table three times in a row even though our tabs were all green. Maybe four in the afternoon was between meals but the price was still the same. Still a good special treat, but not as special as it used to be, and not for the premium price they charge.
I love this place the crew perfect
Was my brother bachelor dinner
Before reading this just know that I myself am not Brazilian but have been to Brazil and my wife is Brazilian. We look for authenticity. Fogo de Chão has over all was very good for someone that has not experience churrasco in Brazil.
Fogo de Chão is a Brazilian steakhouse based in Brazil that recently expanded into the US, so I had high expectations considering while visiting Brazil recently I asked some Brazilian friends their opinion and they said it is great.
Well... the quality of the meet is stellar, however, the menu is complicated and has too many options for a rodizio (all you can eat). I’m a frequent cachaça drinker and only had one option which was their house branded cachaça and no option for Pitú, 51 or my fav Leblon.
Now the meat....there was pichania (top sirloin) and bottom sirloin in abundance but the beef ribs, lamb chops, and filet mignon was rarely brought around. I found this strange especially since we were seated right near the kitchen. And asked serval times for the beef rib. If you’re a true Brazilian BBQ fan you will know chicken hearts are a staple for churrasco.... well there were NONE!
Overall, it was a good meal but I have had better churrasco. Since this was a work meal and 2 of the people that joined us for dinner had never been to a churrascaria.
One thing that stuck out to me was that there were NO Brazilians working there. Every other churrascaria I have been to had only Brazilians working there. Our server that took our drink order and explained the complicated menu was Italian, the other was from France and the gauchos bring the meat out we’re from various Spanish speaking countries.
The meats are the focus and indeed the highlight of the place. The salad bar is wildly overrated.
It understandably busy but service left quite a bit to be desired. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table despite being on time with a reservation and our waiter was often nowhere to be found. We were also told that we couldn't split the bill and after we did pay, it was a good 10-15 minutes before we got our receipt and cards back.
Overall, it was more experience than quality. Different to have people with tremendous quality meat showing up and serving but it could have been better.
If you're in the area and willing to drop about $200 per couple then by all means but I wouldn't recommend that you go out of your way for it.
Our party of nine was celebrating three birthdays. While our waitress was friendly and attentive, our two orders of salmon came out very late. A manager came over to apologize but it was too late and we asked for the meals to be boxed up to go. When our “doggie bags” were brought over I opened one and the salmon was over cooked. Dishes were not cleared away in a timely manner. Coffee was served after dessert was almost finished. And one dessert was served so sloppy it looked like somebody had purposefully messed up the plate. The restaurant was very crowded and it was difficult to get to the salad bar with out bumping into several of the meat servers, or wait staff clearing very large tables with trays of towering dirty dishes. Side dishes were cold and overdone (polenta, plantains.) We came for the experience but would think twice about a return visit with such poor service and mediocre food.
The wait staff was extremely attentive, and the manager stopped by a few times to check on us. He asked if there were any specific meats or cuts we'd like to have again, and sent the gauchos our way. What caught my attention this time was the manager's and staff's interaction with our kids and that they checked with the kids directly to see if they needed (wanted) anything (with approval from us). We had 8 adults, and 5 kids from 4 to 14.
It was my first time being there and i enjoyed it very much
A confusing, frantic paced place that does not give it’s customers any time for conversation. As soon as we were seated we were met by a host (not our waiter) who tried to explain how the place worked in a very thick accent of indeterminate origin. We were then immediately herded to the salad bar (exceptional quality produce) - then back to our table where we were continually bombarded with fellows brandishing large skewers of meat with even larger knives, asking if we would like to try a slice. The beef was salty, the pork bland and the chicken dry.
About halfway into the dinner we finally received our drink orders, which consisted of a house special “cocktail” made from some form of Brazilian liquor which could only be described as a syrupy mess. Our water glasses were never refilled, and we never did meet anyone closely resermbling a waiter or waitress. There was only a barrage of various men & women with everything from appetizers to deserts on trays wandering aimlessly about the restaurant asking random people if they would like something from their platter. It was like eating in the midst of some culinary bazar rather than a fine dining establishment.
The whole experience was like being in someone’s ADHD fueled nightmare. All of this for about $60 per person, by the way! I wound up shelling out over $350 for my party of four for a dining mistake I will never make again!
This was my wife and my first experience and, quite honestly, we were disappointed in the quality of some of the meats served. For lunch, we both got the salad bar/one meat combo, I got the Brazilian steak and my wife, the chicken. While the selection and quality of the salad bar were fabulous, both my and her protein servings were disappointing: my wife’s chicken was dry as a bone, and my first serving of steak (served medium) was a bit tough. If we go back, it will only be for the salad bar. BTW, the service and ambiance were great. Low quality prepared meats for a high quality price.
Good service. Good food. Good time.
Fogo de Chao in Philly had the best service ever...very attentive! The salad bar was very fresh and lots of choices. The meat was delicious especially the lamb and sirloin steak.
The overall experience was amazing. Their service was awesome. The meat was beyond good
Lively atmosphere with very friendly and attentive staff. All food is prepared and served fresh cooked to order!
food was great. Our server, stefania, not as much. Angel was great and truly enjoys what he does.
We arrived before the first seating at 5:30. While we were waiting I took my children to the restroom. It was filthy! One of the toilet seats was broken off in a stall, it didn't appear as though it had been cleaned recently and the downstairs overall had a funky smell. The market table was ok. I have had better selection at other similar restaurants. The meats, in particular the beef, were the highlight of the meal. The chicken was average. For what they charge I doubt I ate my money's worth. The servers were also excellent with my children, which was good since it's not necessarily a "kid place". They were kind and attentive to what they liked. Even still, I highly doubt I will be back when I can get a similar, if not better meal for a better price elsewhere.
Dinner is always good there. The meats are fantastic and so is the salad bar. Service this time wasn't what it usually is, but that happens. We'll be going back.
It was a Valentine’s date. Everything about the experience was so nice. I loved every minute of it. It was my third time and my boyfriend’s first. We will definitely be back again soon!
Great food and service, way over priced. Good place for a large gathering, but not exactly intimate for a party of two. I would recommend for the full experience, just don't expect a good value.
Always a favorite of mine. Great drinks excellent service and delicious food
Valentine’s Day dinner
Our server was not very attentive and waited forever to get things such as another drink or a cup of ice. Honestly, I didn’t think all of the meat was that great of quality. The bacon wrapped filet was unappetizing and so was the pork loin. I will say the Bottom sirloin And Lamb Chops we’re both very good. If trying to dine here I’d say go during restaurant week as it wasn’t worth the price
Me and my partner loved it and enjoyed it
Been here many times. Always a great place!
There for my boyfriends birthday which was never acknowledged by any of the staff. The service was not good. We ordered the shrimp and lobster appetizer the shrimp where good but the lobster tail had nothing in them. There were also claws and the server said I will be right back with crochets and butter for you. 30 min later still no crackers or butter. I didn’t even eat it. It was not a very good experience.
Great food, great service, continued high quality. Highly recommend.
