Founding Farmers - King of Prussia
The food was so good I came away feeling very uncomfortable because I ate so much!
I was so disappointed. I got the spicy fried chicken salad. I specifically asked the server if it was a chicken tender or bone in chicken and she said there was no bone. Well, it was a piece of fried chicken and they had removed the bone in the kitchen. So essentially it was a piece of fatty fried chicken on a salad which is disgusting. When I want chicken on a salad I expect breast meat not a carcass. I’m sad because the restaurant itself is beautiful but the food at our table all looked subpar. I’d rather eat at Cheesecake Factory.
Waitress was amazing.
This place has some really great menu options, though the menu itself is not intuitively organized and it's easy to miss the best options. Some dishes are very reasonably priced while others are grossly over-priced, in my experience, particularly the specials. This is a great place for a weekend brunch, they do a nice selection of healthy and decadent options and usually have multiple servers walking around with little treats to try. The bar has a nice ambiance and the cocktails are varied. In the few times I've been there, the execution / balance of the drinks has been inconsistent. Would definitely go again.
I loved it the first time i was there, i went a second time and took a friend with me and really talked the place up. First they were out of the appetizer we wanted, when we picked something else they were out of that too. Things like that happen, wasn’t a big deal. Then i got the special, and there was a rubber band in my vegetables..... 2 managers came over to apologize, and took my plate off of the bill but really i don’t think that was enough. It’s a beautiful restaurant and i really did enjoy the first time i was there but after this, and i don’t feel it was handled the way it should have been, i won’t be returning.
It's not often when every entrée option is appealing to me for order, yet this was the case at Founding Farmers. Everything was prepared fresh and arrived piping hot. With each bite, I could taste the pride from the kitchen team - it was almost dreamy. Portions were perfect size - we didn't leave hungry or overly stuffed. Great options from their distillery menu when you are looking for a creative twist to whisky or gin.
Excellent lunch. Interesting and creative items on the menu.
13th Wedding Anniversary dinner and this is my wife’s favorite restaurant. So everything was excellent. Our waiter (Christian) was the best! He gave us great suggestions and was very professional. We loved the food and service and will be back!
Awww! HAPPY 13th ANNIVERSARY! Thank you so so much for celebrating with us and for also giving our team a wonderful review. :) WIN/WIN! -Amy
Most of the dishes were great. The starters are amazing. A majority of my friends enjoyed their dishes but mine came out way too salty.
My husband and I were out for the day celebrating our anniversary and wanted to try somewhere different.
It was a nice change, the food was good and the variety on the brunch buffet was excellent. I appreciated the wide variety. We did not receive many of the passed out foods. What I did have was tasty. My husband thought is was priced a little high but since it was a special day, it was ok.
I had an excellent time there the food was very good and the service was excellent.
Thank you, MONT! We appreciate it and hope to have you back soon. :) -Amy
We stayed in KOP for a 3 day weekend and tried quite a feew places in the Village shopping Center. FF is the best of them. Nice decor, friendly waitresses and great food. We liked it so much, we ate their twice. The Sunday Brunch is outstanding and a good value. You get to eat both breakfast and lunch foods. They also come around the tables with some specialty items to try. We loved it!
Definitely one of my better brunch experiences. Emily, our server, took good care of us. They actually have a bacon Carving Station which you have to experience. Loved the coffee
There are certain foods that I cannot, and some that I will not, eat yet I was encouraged not to make substitutions. I had to go back to the menu a third time and ended up with prime rib. I do not like gravy on my prime rib - why ruin the flavor of a perfectly good cut of meat? Spices, yes - gravy? No. The broccolini was nothing but stalks. The baked potato underdone. Considering how difficult the area is to find parking and the mass of humanity, I don't think I'll be back. On a good note, our waitress, Liz, was wonderful!
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am super sorry that your meal was not thoroughly enjoyed this time, and our Culinary Team will take what you shared into consideration. We really appreciate it and hope you'll give us another try sometime soon. -Amy
I had been to Founding Farmers once before, but due to sickness, I was not able to enjoy the menu to the fullest extent. My boyfriend and I's 1 year anniversary was approaching so we made reservations to give this place another shot. The food was absolutely incredible, the drinks (though they took a while to get to us) were strong, and the atmosphere was perfect. The only two issues I came across were; 1. Parking was a menace on a Saturday night at 7pm. We arrived to the area at 7pm, but were unable to park and check in until 7:10pm at the latest. We had to wait for an additional 10 or so minutes until our table was ready. 2. Our waitress, while very sweet, hardly ever came around. I completely understand being packed and understaffed, but we were waiting for our check for close to half an hour after our meals were completed.
Overall, an absolutely awesome place. We'll be back, maybe not on a weekend.
There's a cool vibe in this restaurant. Fortunately, because we were dining with my 82 year old parents (who walk with canes), we were seated in a little private room--away from the hubbub and regular chairs and tables, as opposed to high tables/stools or booths. There is a huge variety on the menu and we all loved our food. Our server was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The manager on duty, Jason, chatted with us and made us feel welcome and valued. Topping the meal off with donuts is a yummy ending to our delicious meals!
Thank you, Kathy for sharing your kind words with us. We really loved having you & your parents visit and look forward to having you all back soon. Please call us anytime for reservation help: (484) 808-4008. :) -Amy
After hearing nonstop about the weekend brunch buffet, I finally tried it. DELICIOUS! You get to sample a good amount of their dinner/lunch menu (now I know to definitely order the salmon next time) and try some breakfast items. In addition to the buffet, they have folks walking around with smaller bites such as the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. Also, and this is small with everything else, but their iced tea and lemonade were spectacular. Definitely recommend it!
Not thrilled they didn’t tell us when we booked our reservation that it was brunch only and $30 a person
Our service was amazing, however, the buffet was not all that fantastic, especially given the price. We were also tossed in the darkest corner of the restaurant
They seated us in area that was perfect for the little kids.
Service was great. The food selection was not as good as the founding farmers in dc.
Fried chicken seemed to have barely any meat though pieces looked huge. Wasn’t sure what it was I was eating entirely - skin?
Our food and cocktails were awesome! Our server was very friendly and offered lots of good suggestions. It did take a long time to get our food and our reservation was later so we were hungry.
Thank you for bringing your family in while visiting! We appreciate the 5-STAR review from this experience and hope to have you all back soon. -Amy
Anniversary date, food was good, seemed to be under staffed
They succeeded in complicating a cup of decaffeinated black coffee. Instead of simply offering a cup of black decaf coffee, they insist on it being espresso and then turning it into Americano. And of course, they charge extra because of the espresso.
Otherwise, the food was good, the menu has a nice variety, and the ambience was very nice. The speed of food arriving from the kitchen was a little slow, particularly for mid morning when they were not very many people present.
Looking to avoid rain soaked highways the hubby and I stopped in for a quick dinner. Cocktails were excellent. I had a New York Sour and he had a scratch soda that was recommended by our waitress. His chicken pot pie arrived with a huge puff pastry topping rather than pie crust and was fun to crumble on top. I enjoyed the squash ravioli, though they resembled pirogies, which were topped with shaved Brussels sprouts- interesting mix. Would have enjoyed less of the buttery, oil that they were smothered in, though.
No dessert but excellent coffee and a full pot of lavender chamomile helped while waiting out the storm.
The impossible burger meatloaf with broccoli and green beans and mashed potatoes was yummy. It was 2 pieces, so made the other leftovers into a sandwich. Unfortunately, it had BBQ sauce on it that the menu didn’t indicate. Made another one for me without sauce and the waiter (Michael) was just perfect. The meal was delicious! He was very informative, prompt, really wanted to do anything to make us have a great experience. We ate early and it was not crowded at all (very lucky for us, because always crowded). My daughter had the margarita pizza and she filled up quickly. She took it home and ate 2 pieces later that night). My husband ate a bowl with scallops, risotto, and topped with roasted brussel sprout leaves for a crunch. We ate early dinner for my husband’s bday.
This was one of my most favorite, restaurants! The food was just superb. The drinks were wonderful. Loved the atmosphere and the vibe! Service was a slight bit slow, but our waitress was so fantastic, it didn’t really matter. Can’t wait until we’re in the area again. We will definitely be stopping in again.
My family and I really enjoyed our experience here! We had a reservation for 7 and we were seated right away. Our server was very polite and knowledgeable. She answered every question about entrees and drinks that we had. The food was absolutely delicious and we received large portions. The ambiance was great. I loved the rustic decor! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Overpriced food and drink plus a screaming toddler made this a less than perfect choice for a birthday dinner.
Thank you for sharing your review with us. I am very sorry to read that your meal & drink both left little to be desired this time, and that there was an upset child at the time of your visit. :( I feel badly your Birthday dinner missed the mark and we hope to have you back for another try soon! I will send you a PM to stay in touch. -Amy
Service was rushed, server was waiting on a party of 8 for birthday celebration with 2 screaming kids, was hard to get drinks and refills, appetizers and entrees arrived at the same time, extremely noisy. Not what I expected. Disappointed
Stuart, I am super sorry to read that service fell short and it was hard at times to request the items needed during your experience. I am also sorry that appetizers & entrees arrived at the same time, and that all in all, this visit left you disappointed. :( We appreciate you letting us know these details and our team hopes for the chance to have you back for another try! That said, I will send you a PM with my email address to stay in touch. -Amy
Buffet was poorly maintained, many dishes were empty for long periods. Not a good value. Limited breakfast options.
No food available in containers after standing in line for a long period of time during the buffet on Sunday. Poor service. Waiter stated he gave us the 12 and under price for my child but after viewing the bill it was not correct. He was not aware of the 12 under, but claimed we received it. Overall bad service and not enough food. Would not recommend Sunday buffet.
Laura, I am so so sorry to read about the bad service and lacking food during your visit with us this past Sunday. :( I would love the chance to touch base (and provide a refund for the wrong charge of your child). I will send you a PM with my email address to continue this conversation. -Amy
great brunch but bring back the oatmeal brown sugar crunch!!
Food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly. Love how they walk around with different food to sample. Little pricey in my opinion. We only go maybe 2x year as a treat to ourselves.
Better than last time but not great
Crowded and noisy. Not a lot of privacy
Went here as a family. My wife got the farmers mix of chicken, ribs, etc. chicken had no white meat, just breaded crap. Ribs were 100% fat. They literally were white sloppy fat. Waiter came back with new ribs quickly but why anyone would serve that slop is beyond me. Took forever to get a drink. They brought out the wrong appetizer. We asked for more chips for one app and it came out 15 mins later WITH THE DINNER. Bottom line...the food was not great, many mistakes in service and it cost me $260 for 4 people. Way better options, quality and service for that price point.
Second time here and the food still does not disappoint. Our server could've been friendlier. Last time we were here we had a great server who spent time explaining the menu and helping us pick the right food for us. This one seemed to be bothered by us wanting to order a second round of drinks or just ask for something we were missing. But we will not let that keep us away to try more of the amazing food!
Food was amazing though very small portions. No bread or rolls given with dinner. Server was very nice but slow. We allowed 2 hours here before we had to leave for a show and it took every bit of that. Had to ask for sides of mayo and mustard several times before it came. They were out of Mac and cheese dish which was disappointing. Will give it another chance because the food we had was delicious.
