Was a bit of a letdown this time - we’ve been many times and it’s usually outstanding, both mains were just a bit mediocre really. I had the chicken Milanese which is hard to do badly but the flavor was definitely missing.
First of all, waiter took like 15+ minutes to greet us, when the 2 tables who were sat after us were greeted n drinks brought out.
We ordered, my husband got the prime rib medium rare, when it came out it was well done. I had to track down another waiter who wasn’t ours to tell him to send our waiter out (this was after my husband probably sat there with his plate for 15min). Finally I think one of the managers came out n apologized and told us that was the last prime rib. My husband ended up getting a filet mignon that was not tasty at all. (N pricier than the prime rib).
Then it took our waiter another 15min after we had finished our food to come and apologize n bring our check.
From now on we’ll stick to breakfast only at founding farmers. We’ve always had such a great experience for breakfast, we thought dinner would be the same but we were soooo wrong.

this is my first visit to this founding farmers but i have been to the other 2 Washington DC area restaurants quite a few times. I took a friend who has never been to or heard of them. They did not disappoint myself or my friend. She was overwhelmed with the service, food, everything. I really appreciate the COVID19 requirements and felt safe. I saw how the cleaning was done and all the work done to make everyone safe.

NOT a good place if you have a gluten sensitivity or allergy. No gluten free menu, and the servers have NO IDEA what has gluten, and are reluctant to ask a chef. They told me to order a steak or a baked chicken, that was my only option. I asked about risotto, but was told it had gluten. I made him ask the chef, and it is, of course, gluten free. Really a pain. Maybe there were tons of things I could have had...who knows? That sucked.
This was our first time there for lunch. Less crowded, more relaxed. We had a nice time and a delicious meal.
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed dining with you. Emily & Maria were so fantastic, positive and incredibly helpful!! (And now that I think about all the staff as well! Host team and gentleman bringing over the cocktails were poised and relaxed). I’ve been here 3x now and this experience has far exceeded the prior 2 , although I’ve only had great experiences here. I can't ever complain about FF in Potomac. Great service, awesome food and great drinks. They have the social distancing down to a science and at the end of the meal when you get the check, you can opt to scan a QR code to pay for it. Um. Doesn't get any safer than that. (And no, it's not through apple pay or google pay, it's entering your CC# into the bill pay webpage.) It's genius! Our server Kierre was superb-- patient and kind. Brunch was great-- and the best grits around! Coffee was hot too! Thanks to FF for being a leader in restaurant protocol and finessing in the DMV!

The waitress was amazing. She was attentive and informative. Food was okay. They have unique dishes that are great in theory but both of our items came out burnt. The ambiance was nice especially since we have not been out since the beginning of COVID. The atmosphere is exciting and the staff is friendly. I would suggest drinks but not the food.

We went for our anniversary dinner. It was yummy. I'd like to return and try the crab and shrimp risotto.

Food was delicious. No waiting with our reservation. Only complaint was server kept forgetting to bring items that were asked for. No shame in writing things down so you don't forget, much worse to have to keep asking for them. Despite that will definitely eat there again.
Very overpriced. Was charged $15 extra dollars to add two pieces of sausage ($8) and two scrambled eggs ($7.50) to a waffle meal they only cake with the waffle. Not the same level of quality that used to exist here.
Wife was home after being away for 6 months. We have a 8th month old baby.
Beignets came out raw. They kindly comped them, sour part was manager gave reason of “we undercook them since people like them that way.”
Table visit was kind but excuse lossy.
Food came out cold. Our waiter was delightful however.
I ran restaurants for 15 years including two Michelin Stars.
Hard to bs fellow industry. We may return, all up to my wife. I will go back to support industry during this hard time

I love dining at FF however on this particular night I tried a new dish the shore house with a broiled crab cake, chicken, hush puppies, and a cucumber salad. The hush puppies were awful and needs a recipe change. I am a food critic that love recommending fine dining establishments to my family and friends. The hush puppies needs to be sweeten not bland with cilantro or zucchini in it. That’s not a true hush puppies and if this was my first time at this restaurant that experience alone would have changed my mind from coming back. However since I frequent at least three times a month I know that FF have other delectable dishes.
Service was great. The corn bread was awesome! The brisket could have been more hot, less fat and more of a beef gravy sauce. The asparagus wasn’t good.
Great menu. Kitchen was a little slow producing our meals. The wait staff apologized for that withiut us first mentioning it. The food was good. Cocktails were good, not outstanding. Outside seating was nice except for when a ridiculously loud-engined car or truck passed by, or a passing car had its music blaring very loudly - none of that was the restaurant's fault, just beware that there are a lot of inconsiderate drivers that pass by the outdoor tables on their way to the parking lot which is nearby. We'll be back.

After reading Founding Farmers’ Covid pledge on their website, in this case committing to disposable menus, trust was immediately violated when we were handed menus in plastic laminated sleeves.
The BAR: Did not have triple sec, which is a staple of a well-stocked bar (for a traditional Cosmo - not everyone likes Cointreau!)
The BITES: Most memorable was the prosciutto, Marscapone and fig (scratch made) bread - Delish! Spatchcock chicken and Picnic Chicken Salad were good. Note, the salad was presented as a scoop on a few Romaine leaves (not in a traditional bowl).
Circle back overall safety and sanitation - a category sorely missed in most restaurant reviews - the rest room here was not in acceptable condition: every toilet seat was broken, sliding to one side or the other of the bowl and both TP and paper towels were not stocked.
In the true spirit of hospitality, every team member owns the restaurant (including rest rooms) and, as a state of mind, should consider how they would treat guests in their own homes.
This place has seriously gone downhill. My food was undercooked and bland. The service was slow and it was not packed like it usually is. The manager did nothing to rectify my raw chicken except offer to make the meal again, and acknowledged it would take another 30-40 minutes which we did not have. I've been going there for years, but I will not go back.

very nice setting. food was good except the fried green tomatoes were made with Red Tomatoes and too soft
I had heard rave reviews for this place but in all honestly I was not impressed. Brunch portions were small and everyone in my party were still hungry after the meal. We ordered dessert to supplement the meal but again were not impressed. The drink were the only saving grace.

I ate brunch and was impressed with the variety of options. The service was great and the food was delivered hot and was tasty.
I really enjoyed dinner here. The ambience was nice and our server was very sweet and knowledgeable. I know that the restaurant is a little crammed for sitting outside, and if Covid wasn’t a problem I wouldn’t have minded, but I did not enjoy people walking past so closely on the sidewalk. I much rather would’ve liked to sit closer to the restaurant instead of closer to the parking lot/staircase to the parking garage. Other than the location of the table, the food was delicious and our waiter, Michael, was perfect.
I was very disappointed and this was NOT my first visit after COVID changes.
I brought guests with us for dinner and, and to say the LEAST, this was not a very satisfying evening.
We waited 20 minutes to get someone to take our drink order. When they finally got around to taking OUR order what my husband wanted was not available anymore. Then 10 minutes after all the orders were placed they came back and said that MY order was not available anymore, either.
My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Fried Steak but they never asked her how she wanted that cooked so it arrived TOO RARE and that meant that she didn't enjoy her meal. When I had to reorder I wasn't given a menu again so I asked for the beef fillet and asparagus only. The asparagus was NOT trimmed so they were dried with stringy ends and all of it was OVER grilled. My husband's replacement dinner was Fish & Chips. It arrived soggy, which meant it sat, while other parts of the meal for all of us was being prepared.
The only meal that was pleasant was my girlfriend's husband's meal and he ordered the Pot Roast. We did enjoy the four Double Espressos but the desserts were disappointing to me as well.
I have come to this restaurant many times for brunch, lunch with my clients, and dinner. It appears there have been changes in the kitchen and the staff needs training. It will be awhile before I return with guest or clients.

Saturday was our first time here.. Awesome Brunch. Everything is so fresh, made in house, including watching them roast the coffee beans. The French toast is light and crispy on the outside with real Maple syrup! The Virginia ham is perfect in the scramble. So good we returned Sunday for Brunch. Service was great. Julia helped us both days and her warm welcoming attitude ensured we will be back!
