I love the food here, but the brunch buffet was not particularly well-organized. Staff had trouble keeping the buffet stocked with items and wait staff was not very efficient at retrieving something out on the buffet like bread, for example. Also, the ice cream was frozen so solidly at the end that staff was only able to scoop strawberry and nothing else, and there were no toppings even though they were advertised on the menu. The menu also said waffle cones were available and they weren’t.
Overall, this is a pricey brunch buffet, so I expected more in terms of service, fully stocked items, etc. not sure I would recommend it based upon my experience. There may be some better options at $30/per person.
Great place to go far a Sunday Brunch (if you can get in). We normally go to Tyson's location, but we could not get a reservation so we went to Reston. Tyson's have more options on their brunch, but Reston is not far behind. I will be happy once COVID is over so that the full buffets are back. The wait staff always checking on you and making sure you do not need anything. Great place I will be back
We went for brunch on a Saturday. The French toast was excellent.
The food is Okay. The prices average. The service completely horrible.
Meh! This was my first time to Founding Farmers after hearing people rave about it and the food was just bland. I don't understand the hype. Maybe it was this particular location. Maybe they were having an off day, but not a very good breakfast for the price. Coulda went to IHOP and had a more flavorful meal.
The chicken salad sandwich was awesome. The spicy chicken salad was even better!
We enjoyed a lovely family meal at Founding Farmers recently. It was a special experience and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who asked!
Absolutely great place to bring the family and have a meal.
Great concept with huge menu. We had some issues trying to address a garlic intolerance but the server helped us find something okay in the end. Great salads and bread.
Very disappointed. The appetizer was great, the entrees- MEH. Hardly any vegetables on the menu except green beans and succatash. Not everyone eats pototoes and mac and cheese. Will not eat there for dinner again- maybe lunch possibly.
Very generous portions (3 servings per
meal) and low prices. The food is outstanding.
Great food. Buffet on Sundays until 2 pm. Good variety, delicious.
Thank you!! We appreciate your 5/5 Star review and hope to have you back again soon!! :) -Amy
The brunch was terrible. I don’t know what happened to this place. The service was terrible, we never got coffee refills or anyone at our table and it wasn’t even busy. Waste
Over price buffet, food cold. What happened to this establishment
I am super sorry the buffet brunch was far from enjoyable this time and left you very unhappy. :( I would love the chance to turn this around and ask you to please email me: Amy@FRG.Farm with a copy of your review + date + location dined. Thank you and I look forward to connecting further! -Amy
We dined on a Sunday and did not know that we would be limited to the brunch special. The first three plates we were given were dirty. One of the plates had food smeared all over the bottom. We ordered two orange juices, (fresh squeezed) which were great. The waitress refilled our glasses, but failed to tell us that we would be charged for each glass.
Once we got past the plates, the food was good, service was great, and the weather was great for outdoor dining.
Waitress should inform clients of the order from kitchen option that differs from the buffet area. Not all items on your on line menu were offered. We were disappointed in the variety of food since we did not know of the food that needed to be ordered through waitress so we did not get to savor everything.
Thank you, Robert for your feedback and I am so sorry for the disappointments with our service & lack of options this time. I would be more than happy to connect with you by email and find a way to make this right- please email me: Amy@FRG.Farm with a copy of your review + date + location dined. We appreciate it and I hope to be in touch soon! -Amy
Service was just so so and the food was mediocre at best. The brunch selection was very limited, I assume due to COVID precautions. They had just a few waiters jumping from station to station to help serve food the morning of Easter Sunday, but at least 4 people gathered around the reception desk. There were no omelettes being served, and the pre-cooked food looked warmed over. For $40 a person, I was just not impressed. This was a branch valley of $20 at best.
Although we have been to other Founding Farmer restaurants, this was our first visit to this location. The restaurant decor is warm, open and comfortable. The staff is friendly and very accommodating, with fantastic service. The food was great. We ordered the proscuitto and fig bread appetizer that was very good and the Braised Chicken Risotto for an entree. This was incredible. A definite 12 on scale of 10. The location practices all COVID-19 safety guidelines and makes you feel safe.
The service was excellent, the atmosphere was fun and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful evening.
Food was delicious, came quickly, and had excellent service.
The location, crowd, and menu are phenomenal. The manager even works and visits the tables and you rarely see that in dining establishments!
It was my birthday so we enjoyed every bit of our food and the ambiance.
Our only critique is that our sweet waiter would have communicated better and that she would remember our requests. We could tell she was trying really hard, and assumed maybe it was a new job so we were kind.
Overall we will be back for brunch to come
We hope to visit again for brunch soon
Our waiter was great!
Service was slow
Hi Omer: I am so incredibly sorry for the slow service this time. :( I'd love to find out more about your visit and make this right! Please email me: Amy@FRG.Farm with a copy of your review + date dined + location to continue this conversation. -Amy
We decided to go here for dinner last second, and it did not disappoint! If you're in the area, definitely check this place out! The service and food were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend.
As always, the food was excellent, the service was magnificent and the people made me feel phenomenal. Paris, who has been undeniably gracious in her giving spirit, introduced me to Steve(who has very positive genuine energy). He kept checking on us to make sure we were good. You just don't get that anywhere and cannot get that from anyone. Always happy to see the staff that constantly lift my spirits. The brunch is king!!!
Buffet was not very good. No bacon. No breads worth eating. Paid $75 for 2 of us. Stay clear on Saturday.. can’t order off menu.. buffet only.
Oh no! I am so sorry to read this and also apologize for any confusion, however, on Saturdays we offer an a la carte brunch (not buffet), and on Sundays we serve a buffet style brunch (which you are right- we only offer our buffet service). That said, I would love to connect and find out what happened during your visit! Would you please email me to continue this conversation? Amy@FRG.Farm with the date you dined, location and copy of your review. Thank you! -Amy
Extensive selection of delicious brunch items. Food was delicious.
Founding Farmers in Reston was superb! I have never been there and heard their breakfast was awesome. Under the impression that they served breakfast all day, we went. Unfortunately they do not, but their lunch options were still great. The crab and artichoke dip was so good! You’ll also enjoy their great coffees, ambiance and staff.
Went there for breakfast and it was delicious!
The food choices were unique and delicous. The kettle corn was amazing! Our server was kind and friendly and made the visit very enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Scallops were great but steak was thin and not very flavorful. Great service, however we had to ask for a more socially distanced table than the first one offered.
Unlike the other FF's in MoCo and Tyson's this location literally had no selection of food for Sunday Brunch at $50 per person (tax & tip included). We were really disappointed.
Oh gosh! I am so incredibly sorry for the lack of selection and feel terrible we left you disappointed this time. I'd love to follow up and turn this around for you! Please email me: Amy@FRG.Farm with a copy of your review + date dined. Thank you and I look forward to continuing this conversation. -Amy
Good: Hostess and server were great. Hostess helped me fix a reservation error I made and got us seated with a decent wait. Server was prompt and did not hover or rush us.
Bad: Kitchen got two of the orders wrong. The salad for my wife, whose birthday we were celebrating, was totally wrong. Then the meatloaf I ordered was too salty to finish.
My family likes Founding Farmers for some reason. Guess we will go to the one in Tysons if I have to be dragged to one again.
Sat at a dirty table, manager came out apologized and said he’d check on us after food came, never came back, IMPOSSIBLE burger (with cheese) had no cheese and they still charged the COVID surcharge. Our server Kent didn’t offer anything or get Mgr back to our table after I informed him of my no cheese...
First time here. Great food and service!
So the food was good as usual, the wait for receiving drinks, apps, meals was quite a bit longer than usual - okay, COVID, staffing...whatever; we were happy to be out. Cleaning, masking (staff and guests - really good). I found it quite a bit more expensive than in past. Fee for PPE - okay, the dentist does it too, here's your piece; Fairfax food tax on top of usual tax and then 20% tip. Without any alcohol, two apps and two desserts (one glass of milk for $4.50!!), it cost us $165 for three people. Looks like dining out here will definitely be more of a luxury than a weekly treat. Too bad.
COVID-19 has slowed down the kitchen a bit, but that is neither surprising nor disappointing. The food remains some of the best comfort food you can find, and the staff is friendly if overworked.
Great service. Good food. Good ambience.
Martini served in a small port wine glass instead of a martini glass...first disappointment.
Meatloaf rather flavorless and dry. Not meaty or juicy.
Overspicing everything with pepper, including prodigious amounts of Cayenne pepper in the Fried chicken batter, which was not mentioned on the menu., Everything was overspiced. Thne cook had a very heavy hand with the black pepper shaker.
Large video screen outside the restaurant kept flashing, very startling and distracting. Light noise.
The server was nice enough. Not her fault.
Had never been here before, probably not rushing back for a 2nd attempt.
Please take this seriously, as I NEVER write bad restaurant reviews. I felt obligated to do this one.
Hi Patrick: I am so sorry your meal, drink ordered and ambience all sadly left much to be desired. :( Please know, the large screen outside our restaurant is not managed or owned by us, and we are always more than happy to move you to a more desirable location in the restaurant and also replace any items that missed the mark. This all said, I would love to make this right if it's not too late! Please email me: Amy@FRG.Farm with a copy of your review + date dined. Thank you so much! -Amy
Love this place. Everytime we have family in town we bring them here.
Many thanks for sharing this with us! We really appreciate it and are very flattered to be your "go-to" when family are visiting. :) -Amy
