Frankie's B Town Bistro
The food was pretty good, we all kind of expected entrees to come with a side salad, as that is the case with most Italian places, but they do not. The service was not great. We had reservations and the table they saved for us was at the very back right by the bathrooms..the tables were very small, our party of 6 was super cozy, and it was very loud. Service was slow, we asked for a second round of drinks that never did show up, thankfully they didn’t try to charge us. One of the owners came around to chat, which could have been nice if it was just a brief visit to see how our dinner was, but she definitely does not know how to read a situation! Our family was visiting for one night and that was our dinner, and she just comes up to the table pulls up a chair and proceeds to tell us her whole life story and talk up all of their businesses. She made herself at home at our table, uninvited, twice and spent at least 30 min talking non stop! We told her we were family visiting for just the one night and she took all of that time away from us to plug her businesses! We will not be returning
Good food, friendly atmosphere. After antipasto, the first of our party of seven got entrees right away. It was 30 minutes later before the last three got theirs! That much delay ruined the mood...
My father-in-law came to visit and loves Italian food. We used to come to this location under a previous owner. We were very pleasantly surprised to find the atmosphere to be family oriented, the service to be great and entertaining and the food was amazing. We will definitely be visiting again on a more regular basis.
Excellent all around, service, smells, tastes and vibes. Fabulous place!
Great food and friendly staff! Had a small issue with one of our meals and server took care of it right away. We love Frankie's!
Lobster ravioli was amazing! Always love the food at Frankie’s
My wife and I went for the first time on our anniversary and we loved it. Our server Porter was great, so was the food, and the anniversary Prosecco was a nice touch to boot. We will definitely go again and recommend it to anyone.
Our server (Porter) was EXCELLENT! The food was fantastic (I had the Rack of Lamb ... YUM!). Everyone else cleaned their plates as well ... very, very good and would go back next time I am in Seattle.
This was our second visit to Frankie's. Our first experience was outstanding on all levels - great food, great service and fun atmosphere (I submitted a review after that visit).
So the next time we found ourselves in the area we knew we wanted to go back. Unfortunately, this time things went sideways. I understand that even the best restaurants sometimes have a bad night. This was one of them.
Fundamentally, I think the problem was they were understaffed. The restaurant was packed, with a large party in the back and diners on the patio, in the bar and in the main dining area. With only 2 servers (who were actually running from table to table) and probably a similarly understaffed kitchen, service was extremely slow.
After a long delay we finally got our entrees only to find they had gotten my order wrong. By then, we didn't want to wait longer so we shared my husband's entree, He had the gnocchi and it was delicious!
Despite all this, I will still recommend this place and will definitely return. It was just one of those nights. The leader waiter (Porter) was very apologetic and sincere. He handled the entire situation very professionally and did the "right things" to make up for our less-than-great experience.
Thanks, Porter! We'll be back to see you the next time we're near Burien.
Our waiter Ryan was impressive. We received good information about the food, he was attentive, and had such a nice personality. We had friends with us from Oregon, and it was special that Frankie and his wife both came over to chat!
We have been here twice. Once for happy hour and the food and service were great. The atmosphere is casual and fun. We came back with our daughter for dinner and the food was excellent! She said the carbonara was the best!
One of the best dining experiences I've had anywhere. This was definitely a pleasant surprise in the "funky" town of Burien. The moment we entered the door we were greeted by wonderful aromas and friendly staff. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, with an "NYC"-type of vibrancy.
Our servers were great. Friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Service was attentive, without being over-bearing and they allowed us to take our time enjoying our evening of dining. The restaurants founders are long-time produce purveyors at Pike Street market and the restaurant focus is on fresh, seasonal ingredients. All of our meals were delicious. My husband and one of our companions chose from the filet of sole from the daily specials and both loved it. Our other friend and I had the gnocchi which was divine!
Two of the owners, Frank and his wife Susie, personally welcomed everyone by stopping at the tables and chatting. Susie was absolutely charming! She treated us like old friends and even gave me a "guardian angel" pin after learning that I am a cancer survivor. How sweet is that?
Absolutely loved this place and will return the next time we are in the area.
It is a pleasure to eat at Frankie's. Hands down best place to eat in Burien.
Frankie's is fantastic! They support our community theater with an ongoing sponsorship. They bring in top notch musical talent, like Larry Murante. They provide amazing fresh ingredients for all their dishes, like the scrumptious halibut and pasta I destroyed. Go!
We love Frankie’s!
Our waitress with pink hair is adorable!!!
Thank you! <3
First time here!! Loved it!!! I celebrated my bday there and had an amazing time! Staff were nice (paid for my drink and brought out 2 types of free deserts). I didn't expect live music but they had that too ☺
The food was also amazing! They had gluten free pasta which I loved! Cannot wait to come back again.
Thank you! <3
Food was not to par this time. Must have forgot sauces very plain. Not impressed
We're sorry Richard, please let us know when you'd like to come back and we'll make it right for you. Frank
The only comment i would have to make is it would be nice if the tables weren't so close to each other - i feels like you r conversation is very private.
Out server was amazing and the food was delicious.
Thank you KandiSu, we'll make a note of this! Frank
We were pleasantly surprised during dinner that our friends were there. We had recently suggested they give Frankie's a try! Everything was great, except, I wish they would ask us if we prefer a booth or table when seating so we don't have to turn down their initial seating designation.
Thank you for the kind words John, we don't have traditional booths but will make a note to ensure every guest is as comfortable as possible. Frank
A nice selection of very good Italian-style meals, with a welcoming bistro atmosphere and attentive and friendly wait staff, and a reasonably priced wine selection. Will look forward to a repeat visit soon.
This place unfortunately has become a victim of its own success I’m afraid. The last two times we have been there they have been running around with their hair on fire. My bar drinks were half full. Food took an hour to get to us. Service was sloppy and the quality of food suffers when people are running around with their hair on fire. I hope they can make the adjustments needed to operate effectively. Until then we will stay away, not worth the price for a bad experience.
We are very sorry you had anything less than a stellar experience, typically, given the chance during your visit we will fix any problems when we are extraordinarily busy. I hope you will come back soon and speak up if there are issues. We are a very busy restaurant but this is not an excuse for meals taking too long. Please accept our apologies. Frank
Love this place I’ve been their twice and will be returning many more times
Food atmosphere staff were great
Maybe play some Frank Sinatra
Thank you! <3
Loved it. Can’t wait to go back.
Thank you! <3
We brought 2 other couples to help celebrate my husband’s birthday and they just loved the place! We’ve been a few other times and really appreciate the personal attention provided by the owners - stopping by the table to check in and chat us up. Such wonderful people! We usually have the same waiter which is fun.
This visit the food was a bit uneven and this was a first for us. The lasagna was delicious as was the black cod over risotto special. Other dishes were good but not up to Frankie’s par. We’ll definitely be back again soon though.
Excellent, food atmosphere & customer service. Staff went out of there way to make us feel at home. Would highly recommend the restaurant to a friend.
Great place to celebrate an occasion with friends and family. Casual and elegant at the same time.
Always great food and they treat everybody like family.
Our third time. A special occasion. Always enjoyable.
We love Frankie's and eat at Frankie's every time we visit Burien. Take your family to Frankie's because the hospitality, service and the food is out of this world!!!!
Excellent experience. Super kid-friendly, amazing food, reasonable prices, and free treat for the birthday celebration. We love Frankie’s!
Thank you! <3
The high reviews lured us to make a reservation for dinner with our dear friends. The reality failed to live up to expectations. Our waiter was replaced with a waitress that bursted with nervous energy and incessant ramblings so it is no surprise that the service was haphazard and frenetic. She spent the entire evening sharing how nervous waiting tables made her. Our orders were forgotten or wrong. Drinks sat empty or never arrived. Two of us not only finished our salads but had our plates removed before our partners received their appetizer and soup. Neither could be enjoyed since the main courses immediately followed and were taken away virtually untouched. The experience got even worse when the entrees arrived. The chicken piccata floated in an abundance of watery, brown sauce and had to be sawed with a knife. The Alfredo lacked creamy richness expected and instead tasted burnt. The worst was the utterly flavorless carbonara. The meal disappointed in every possible way. We sent our dishes back uneaten and chose not to complain in the hopes of a speedy exit.
Hello Shannon, let me apologize for your less than stellar experience, as you note, our reviews typically do not support this downfall in service and quality. I do wish you'd given us the chance to make it right for you when you were there, both of us owners - Frank Genzale and Frank Yellam were onsite during your visit and we pride ourselves in ensuring every guest is happy before leaving. Feel free to call me directly at 206-946-1334. Sincerely, Frank Genzale Sr. Dinner and drinks on us.
My wife and I enjoy eating out on occasion and we are looking for a place that offers good food at reasonable prices. Frankie’s fills the bill. The service level is always high and attentive. One of our favorite places to go when we are in the mood to dine out.
The very BEST Italian food in Seattle. You owe it to yourself to eat here. The food is incredibly good and very consistent. Frankie’s knows how to cook pasta, Al Dente!!! And the pizza is fantastico!!! Go to FRANKIES!!!! You’ll love the service and the food!!!
One of our new favorites. The owners are very friendly and visit with the customers. The food and atmosphere is very good.
Frankie’s is wonderful! I’ve been there twice now, once for a rehearsal dinner and once for my family to meet my fiancé’s family. The food has been delicious and the service has been impeccable. Everyone who works there clearly has a passion for creating a welcoming and cozy experience.
We had a great time celebrating a family birthday! The food was very good and paired with excellent service. It was a little noisy because it is open-space but we were still able to carry on our conversations. It was a great family atmosphere and will be back!
My family and I came to this restaurant to celebrate my mom and I’s birthday. I had heard some good things about the food and decided to give it a try for our special day. We love the fact that they have fresh ingredients and pride themselves on being locally sourced. However to our dismay we will not be returning to this interesting Italian place. The staff seemed nice yet confused, nervous and overly attentive without bringing quality service. My meal personally (Shrimp Alfredo) lacked sauce and was on the colder side for temperature. Once I had ordered a side of more sauce and mixed it in, it was warmer and more flavorful. The complementary bread seemed very underdone and doughy but the bruschetta was delicious! My family agreed the service was the worst part of the meal. Food was okay but our waitress was overly talkative and attentive in all the wrong ways. Our glasses were empty, food was cold, and expectations not met for the overpriced total at the end.
Great food, personal and spirited service--I'll be back with my wife for date night!
We had a great time and will certainly be back again. Especially appreciated the accommodations with my special diet. Service was exceptional.
The food and service is typically very good. Today was no exception. I would highly recommend Frankies.
