Frontier's Executive Chef Brian Jupiter has created mouthwatering dishes celebrating American contemporary cuisine, blending game and other seasonal ingredients into classic and approachable fare.
The seasonal dinner menu includes small plates, vegetables, sandwiches and entrees designed to share. Frontier’s menu also features 8-10 varieties of oysters to order a la carte with dinner, or to enjoy with a bottle of beer at the bar. Over the weekend, patrons may indulge in brunch offerings including a wide selection of Frontier signature dishes alongside traditional breakfast items.

Complimenting Frontier's savory menu items are unique wines by the glass & bottle, specialty craft cocktails including creative punches and frozen cocktails along with 16 seasonal and traditional beers on tap featuring American-craft microbrews. The bar is one of the few in Chicago to employ almost all state-of-the-art ice taps that keep beer colder and fresher while providing a cleaner pour.

The food at Frontier is always pretty good, but the service, particularly for brunch, is terrible. This is our 2nd time for brunch, months apart, where service was slow, items were forgotten and food was delivered up to half hour apart for people at the same table. While the staff was apologetic, this does seem to be a pattern.

The food was pretty good and stood on its own. The service, however, was not, and is why we are not likely to return. First, we were seated at a table under dripping condensation. Nothing like water from the ceiling to whet the appetite. There was a problem with the taps, so none of the draft beers were available and they were out of about half of the bottled beers. What I ordered wasn't available, but it took a long time to tell me that and a longer time to bring my next choice. Finally, we were told that food came out of the kitchen in waves. That's fine, but there was only 1 wave and it took longer than expected for anything to arrive. Then, the entrees were delivered about 2 minutes after we received (and before we finished) the appetizers. The place wasn't sufficiently busy that the bar and the kitchen should have been so off kilter.

We selected Frontier for brunch to celebrate a friend’s engagement. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by everyone on the staff. The food was good and came quickly. Our water glasses were. Ever empty and our server gave great suggestions. As a surprise and thank you, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne to toast the happy couple! It’s a great brunch spot and I highly recommend it.

liked the variety of seating options, waiter was friendly, not pushy, but could use more non meat options for appetizers, snack bites if you you just want a small bite with drinks. A girlfriend and I got together to catch up for brunch.

Tired of getting “the open table” table here. Cmon folks we really will enjoy it more if not seated in front of the open door and hostess station. (It has happened more than once, and is particularly annoying when you see better tables sit empty the entire tine you are there.) ps we live in the neighborhood/ not tourists.

Great experience but music was too loud. Couldn't talk over it. Granted, it was right after the Kentucky Derby but once that was over, the pipes in music was just too loud. Food and drink were fantastic.

Amazing food and top notch service. Only thing I didn't love was that it was very loud. They have a lovely outdoor area with a fireplace though si that eves it out :) make sure you order several things from the menu and share!

While the service is great and the menu is different the food just isn't that great. We got the fried chicken sandwich, duck tacos, and ahi tuna sandwich. The fried chicken sandwich is boring in flavor and the breading taste unseasoned. The ahi tuna sandwich is just kind of weird way to eat seared tune. The duck tacos were also strange. It feels as if the Fronteir is trying to be different, but could use to focus on the fact they serve game meat instead of poor sandwich creation and weird topping combinations.

Food was great. Service was lacking. Our server got the order wrong and didn’t tell us one of the apps we ordered wasn’t coming until we had finished all our other appetizers. My boyfriend ate late because she forgot his order and I think the least they could do was buy him a drink or offer dessert. However food was great and the Ribs I had were fantastic.

Met friends for brunch. Requested a high chair and they already had it ready. Seated us in the corner in the enclosed outdoor area which was great in case the baby got fussy. It felt great to feel the sunshine, but be inside as it was cold. Bloody Mary was delicious and so was all of our food. So glad we chose Frontier!

Several friends had lunch on Easter Sunday. We had to wait for our reserved table as there was line out the door for the easter brunch buffet. Things were a bit chaotic but we got a table and good service. The food choices are unusual. The beignets were very good . The ham biscuit sandwich was good but a bit spicy with the jalapeno jam. The hash was good.

Went in for Easter Brunch after making reservations on OpenTable, was told they were sold out of Brunch. Offered us a regular table while everyone around us ate Brunch. Food then can out sporadically as clearly they were overwhelmed by Brunch. Clear lack of preparation, was definitely a poor experience for my first time in.

Food was pretty good, something different. Service a little slow , one of our friends had to wait longer than the rest in the table and after the bill was paid, the same friend asked for a beer but he never got it so we left.

Very loud and energetic on a Saturday night. Hard to hear conversations in a loud group, esp in the bar area (where we were seated for dinner). Food was decent, but nothing that I'd rush back to eat again. Timing of the kitchen wasn't great (one of our diners got their meal well before everyone else, and another one well after). Server/bus service was good. Lots of beers on tap.

We had a family brunch. It was not noisy so it was easy to talk. Food includes common and uncommon options. They have an amazing selection of oysters from different parts of the country. I had a tasty wter buffalo burger. You could get a whole cooked alligator stuffed with chicken.

The host station staff and servers couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating.
Caesar salad was meager and uninspired and the shrimp and corn cake a bit over sauced. But I would definitely go back and try other things. Burger looked awesome!
