Gaido's Seafood Restaurant
How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. Plus, with the Pelican Club, private dining, catering, a new food truck and parking galore…it’s easy to see why Gaido’s -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.
We had a great time at Gaido’s two nights in a row! We had Cliff the first night and he was a super professional and helpful waiter! We had Lucio the second night, and he was also really awesome, nice, and professional! Your employees made the difference. Food was also phenomenal!
Great food, great service. Would highly recommend.
The place is amazing with lots of history, the food was awesome the service was great! We celebrated our 36 years of marriage! Thank you for making it awesome!
This is an historic Galveston restaurant that has a long running reputation for quality and service. It is well worth every penny!
Amazing food. So glad we were able to have dinner at this restaurant. It is a must when in Galveston.
They were very accommodating with our schedule and with the number of people in our group. We were in town for a cheer competition we had parents and children ranging from 9-12. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend.
Gaido’s has always been a favorite seafood restaurant in Galveston and our recent visit did not disappoint! Wait staff were outstanding, food was beyond delicious and atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. I highly recommend Gaido’s for any seafood lover.
Excellent from entering to cocktails to the main meal and then the hot lemon water after
Everything was excellent -- the service, the entrees (seafood), the dessert, the coffee. I would return here to eat.
This place is a favorite for us. Food is fantastic and the staff is wonderful.
Wonderful dinner, staff met every request. In this "covid" environment Gaidos went beyond careful to keep us all safe as possible.
I spent no less than 20 minutes writing a glowing review of this restaurant. I started to add photos of our dinner. Hit "back" and lost everything I had written on this website. Will not waste time writing review on Opentable website again. Gaido's, I will be dropping off my cards into your Dropbox. This restaurant is Highly recommended by me.
We love Gaido’s. The only disappointment was that we did not get to see Nick, wanted to hear how his Dad is doing. But, we were glad he had some time off on a Sunday! Everything was excellent, and our server, Evan, was great!
Fantastic and one of our favorite place to eat out in Galveston. Always worth the drive.
Gaidos has always been a family favorite so I was excited to introduce my boyfriend to the amazing food on our trip to Galveston. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend the truffle fries. I literally said “Yum” with every single bite. The little horseradish aioli that comes with it was to die for! We had a fantastic time all thanks to our server Devin who was so sweet and very knowledgeable! Thank you Gaidos for a fantastic night!
Pros: Excellent food, excellent service
Cons: no view for being on the beach -- view is blocked by the restaurant's parking lot
The food and service was beyond amazing! We will always be back!
Very good!
Delicious quality fine food!
Service was professional.
Our server was great but the kitchen was extremely slow. We were the last table seated and by 10 they weren't busy enough to warrant the slowness of food coming out.
Food was ok, not great. One of our entrees even came out cold. They were extremely busy as it was NYE. The friends we were with had been a few times before and raves about it but were also disappointed in the food this trip. The service was excellent. I would give them another chance but not for a holiday or busier than normal occasion.
Everything was incredible! The service was friendly, informative, and on top of it. The food was AMAZING! Everything we ordered was delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
Gaido’s never disappoints. Excellent food. Always fresh and perfectly cooked. The grilled oysters are a must. There’s not a bad entree on the menu. Can’t wait to go again.
Always good and consistent. Enjoyed New Years Eve with friends!
Our favorite Dining place! No better than Gaido’s! Been dining at Gaido’s for 64 years. Thank You Nicolas!
New Years Eve dinner- everything was great! We pretty much new what we wanted to order so gave it all to the waiter and he took care of timing. Portions, quality, and value definitely worth it.
Awesome. We were very pleased with the service and waiter.
I had the pecan crusted mahi-mahi with asparagus and my husband had the shrimp peques with the parmesan tomatoes. Both meals were delicious! The tables are appropriately spaced far apart and it was quiet and restful in there. A wonderful
New Year's Eve dinner.
We came for my daughters 15th birthday. It was our first visit to Gaido's and we enjoyed it. We were hoping for a piece of that famous pecan pie (for my daughter's birthday) but I guess we should have asked, ha! We were too full by the time dessert came around anyhow. Food was great!
Delicious fresh food, great service!! Clean. Friendly staff.
Richard was a wonderful waiter. Food EXCELLENT!! Nice, quaint & quiet Anniversary dinner.
Always great food and service, and the wait staff is always well informed...
Food was perfect and our waiter, Reed, was friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back to Gaido’s on our next trip to Galveston!
Unbelievable! And William was excellent!
Great Job!
Food was excellent. Highly recommend crab cakes and crab Mac & Cheese. Also pecan pie ala mode. I had tile fish with crab as main - it was featured fish dish of the evening. It was good but not on the same level as the 3 above. Daughter had beef filet and she said it was great. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.
Gaidos never lets us down. We started off with the lump crab over avocado and tomato. It’s perfect for two. Then a cup of their famous bisque. I ordered the yellow tile and it was exceptional. It has a firm texture and is mild. Just the way I like my fish.
Oh, the Mexican martini was great.
There was no room for dessert.
Outstanding as usual. Great food, excellent service.
Excellnt food and service....need to have the Pecan Pie!
Very overpriced. I had the evening special which was grilled grouper with shrimp. The portion was maybe 4 ozs and the shrimp were previously frozen salad shrimp - not even butterflied large shrimp. It was a $38 plate that should have been about $22. Calamari not the best either. Honestly overall disappointed and heard great things. Wouldn’t return honestly.
