Girl & the Goat
Located at 809 W Randolph, Girl & the Goat was one of the first establishments in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor. We offer a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.

What Insiders Are Saying
One of the most well known restaurants in Chicago, and one that lives up to the hype.
Great food and drink that produces unique flavors and tastes of food from plants and animals that we consume daily. The magic to this transformation is when Stefanie Izard put her special preparation of each of the dishes, which makes the experience outstanding.
its great. Try the whole fish sea bass it’s magnificent
The shunk pork, the salmon bay and the pavlova incredible!
Such a great experience! Service was impeccable, the food was great and a very lively atmosphere. Our server, Owen, was absolutely amazing! We went to the restaurant to celebrate a job offer and Owen was sure to make our experience the best it could be. I cannot wait to come back!
My husband and I were lucky to get a table here after weeks of relentless OpenTable searches. Little did we know that we would be treated with counter seats with a direct view of the veg line and woodfire grill. Such a delight. The food and service were impeccable, but the entire experience was enhanced by witnessing how hard these folks work to prepare each dish. It is HOT in that kitchen and the tickets are non-stop. I honestly don’t know how they do it. This place is truly special.
This was a Phenomenal find. Delicious food good cocktails. Will always stop while in Chicago
Family vacation. Our fifth Iron Chef meal. Loved the small plates concept because we got to try many dishes. Favorites were pig face, corn perogies, squash blossoms, and all the desserts. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Best restaurant in Chicago, hands down! Would recommend to everyone!!
One of the best meals of my life. Great, interesting food, outstanding service, comfortable feel!
Food was delicious. Just a little loud for parents looking for a quieter dinner.
For tastebud tantalizing small plates, this is our favorite spot in Chicago. We followed the owner, Stephanie Izard, all thru her Top Chef and Iron Chef journeys on tv and her success has catapulted. Once you sample her food you realize what all the fuss is about. Her pairings are unexpected and genius at the same time. From the delicious homemade breads to the empanadas and braised pork shank, you’ll leave wanting more. I’d describe the restaurant as city chic but with a casual, relaxing vibe. Get on over to Randolph Street and prepare to be dazzled. 🐐
Everything we ordered was excellent. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and alert. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for this high level of quality. Favorites were the squash blossom rangoon, pan fried shishito peppers, grilled pork belly, and goat empanadas.
Was visiting Chicago from NYC. It was the best food we had the entire trip. Everything was delicious, and the service staff was extremely attentive.
Food was great BUT too salty. I had 5 glasses of water throughout the meal. The voice level was too high for a couples date. However food was great, tasty and enjoyable.
I had dinner here solo while in from out of town and my server made me feel very well cared for without overdoing it. I was very comfortable. Had 4 veggie dishes and enjoyed them all, especially the cauliflower and the corn pierogies.
Great service, didn't have to wait long for our reservation.
Very accommodating to food allergies, they even marked up a menu to help identify which foods would be considered "safe" to order.
Girl and the Goat is ALWAYS a wonderful decision! The food, service and ambiance are impeccable – the full experience never disappoints. The Kohlrabi Salad is a huge fave, as well as the Green Beans with fish sauce aioli and cashews, and the whole branzino with the shrimp broth. Drooling now thinking about it!
Always outstanding food and service. Highly creative. Not the usual and customary menu. The staff tries to make your experience special. They wii try is solve any dietary needs. A wonderful experience.
Fantastic service going above and beyond to accommodate dietary preferences and requirements
Came here for a colleagues dinner! Food, Service, & Ambience was amazing. We all really loved the experience and was the highlight of our business trip
Was worth the hype! Pretty loud though and tables are too close together.
Amazing food and service. Great for groups so that you can try more on the menu. A great foodie experience with a fun atmosphere!
The good was amazing ! Highly recommend!
Great service, great food, great experience! I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
Service was flawless. Nothing dirty was allowed on my table. Gary was a great waiter and super friendly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great evening.
The scallops were amazing and I’d highly recommend trying them.
Phenomenal place to eat! Lives up to every expectation and then some. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive. No place like it for quality and flavor of the food! Go hungry and leave very satisfied! Would give 10 stars if I could.
I had a great time. The menu items are a fun twist on home cooking. The staff was friendly and attentive. My one gripe: it’s pretty loud, don’t expect to transact business across the table.
It was our 10 year anniversary and Cassie the sommelier picked the perfect wine for all the fantastic dishes. Everything was amazing, the duck tongues, salmon, crispy pork “chicken wing”, etc. I cannot recommend this place enough, wonderful experience!
Good veg choices. The only resto in the US which dares not to have burger and fries on the menu. 😄That is bold. 🤛🏽 But the glazes are still on the sweet side.
Server was good but the majority of his attention was spent on a table with two young ladies. They ordered less dishes and drinks than us, but received more attention. It felt like we had to flag down our server.
Fun place to gather with friends or family. Good variety of small plates. Very noisy.
Outstanding! The food was excellent, the service was the best. My only complaint is the noise level but then it’s a busy restaurant. This wasn’t my first time there and I’ll be back for sure!
Absolutely delicious! Service was flawless. Relaxed atmosphere. Loved the family style and how the knowledgeable staff customized the meal order from our choices
We had the best service in the US so far and the food is amazing.
Probably the best meal I have EVER eaten! I recommend the pig face. Desserts are delish!
Food was delicious, service was great, cocktails were perfect1
Food & drink: Outstanding!!!! Ambiance: Loud and lively. Service: Affable but disingenuous. Price: Reasonable. Had 4:30 reservations (and 7:30 Hamilton tix)...had enough time to WALK to the Loop for the show with 40 minutes to spare. So...when El Cacique was still around in Key West, I'd go there every time...for the food, but not for the atmosphere or service. Would I go to G&TG again? Maybe. But I'd be inclined to try something else first.
The food was really yummy. We enjoyed sitting at the table that oversaw the kitchen. They're food recommendations were spot on and delicious!
Lived up to all our expectations! Staff was fun and knowledgeable and food was amazing. Highly recommend
