About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem

Gregory's in Somers Point is an award-winning restaurant and bar that has been in operation since 1946. The restaurant is especially well known for its breakfast burger. The inside of Gregory's matches the exterior at its location in the historic Somers Point Bay District; it’s warm, cozy and friendly. Other items on the menu you’ll want to try at Gregory's include the potato skins, shrimp and grits, Cajun shrimp and chicken pot pie. The freshly prepared flatbread is also very popular as are the soft pretzel sticks which are served with cheddar beer and honey mustard sauces. For a truly satisfying entrée, order the whole lobster or fresh catch.

We went on a Saturday night and had a reservation for 630. Got seated right away but took 15 minutes before we got water. Ordered appetizers to share 2 orders of what they called potato pancakes but were more like hash browns. 2 of us got the flounder francaise and it was excellent! Wife got the German special and she liked it. last dinner was crab cakes and it was disappointing When the bill came and I used my Debit card they still charged 3% and when I pointed out to our waitress (who seemed annoyed) that I should not be charged as it comes right out of my account she said our system doesn’t work that way! Not cool ! Now it was $7 but it’s the principal. Probably not returning

We went for the Octoberfest menu and enjoyed the Sauerbraten and the Weiner Schnitzel. Both meals were as good or better than we’ve had anywhere. I’m sorry it’ll be another year before we get this menu again, but we’ll be back to Gregory’s.

We did not stay there to eat. When we got there they said the dining room was closed and the tried to seat us in the bar area. It was happy hour and it was crowded and loud. We left send went to a bother restaurant down the street. Very disappointing!

My family had a tasty dinner at Gregory's! Only downside was a Mango Margarita that was all sour ...

Quiet night due to storm. We were thrilled when Patty told us there was fresh flounder as a special and fresh it was. Cooked perfectly--moist and tasty in a lemon sauce. Fresh fish is always excellent here.

It must have been a bad night at Gregory’s. It was “Taco Tuesday,” so I ordered chips and salsa and two orders of tacos. How can you go wrong when the restaurant that claims to have originated “Taco Tuesday?” has tacos on the menu? Well, it took a full 35 minutes to get our chips and salsa. Other table were actually beginning to yell at the waitress because it took so long to get their food. The chips came with “home made” salsa which had no flavor. After another 30 minutes, the margarita I ordered arrived-in a lager beer glass. Soon after my tacos arrived along with the lobster roll my wife ordered. The tacos came with a small amount of poorly seasoned hamburger, a few pieces of diced tomato, and a pile of cheddar cheese, along with a small cup of the same bland salsa. The tacos were not good-Taco Bell does better. My wife said her lobster roll was good, so it wasn’t a total disaster. Again, maybe the kitchen was having a bad night, but I don’t think we will be returning to Gregory’s any time soon.
