Service very slow. Food ok. Noise level horrible!
Never disappoints! Love sitting at bar and the ambiance is so lovely!
Delightful post theater meal. My wife and I shared the grilled octopus appetizer which was excellent. Her skirt steak was also very tasty. I had the tenderloin of pork which was excellent. Kudos to the bartender for an outstanding Kir. Service was very good. It is an energetic room but we were able to converse reasonably well. A very satisfying evening
My only objection is that Guildhall is too loud, making it impossible to talk with friends. In fact, the noise can be unbearable at times.
I’d recommend it to a friend with the caveat that the noise can be insufferable.
My group were varyingly disappointed. I specifically asked for my pork loin to be rare. It came quite overdone and I didn't want to disrupt the mail to send it back. Dry and tough.
My friend specifically asked if a particular dish, the special pasta, was spicy and was told it was not. It was.
The restaurant was hosting a large and very loud party in the back room. There was no door to insulate the rest of the diners from their noise. The noise was intolerable. As a result, I suspect none of the four couples will be back there.
Salmon salads were excellent, my friends salmon was undercooked so had to be sent back, too a little long to get the salad back. Once the salad was cooked properly, it was great! the hummus appetizer was wonderful as well. The service was touch and go.
Excellent food and personable service. Would return.
Great food and service.
We’re granted our request for a quite table, Thank you!
Shaun was an awesome waiter, and with the host it makes Guildhall feel like a private fun club. The skirt steak was perfection.
Fantastic as always! Great food and service. We will be coming back very soon!
The best on the North Shore
Dined outdoors, the tables are awkward due to the brick paver sidewalk that kind of slants everything towards the street, tables are not leveled well so they wabble quite a bit. The waitress stressed how awesome the octopus appetizer was but it was over cooked and tough, The two other dishes were decent, sea bass and and the tarte flambee was very large and tasty.
Good food and setting xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Went there for a bday celebration food not so good very very small portions... very expensive for what you get... service not great we told them steak was not good they did take off bill but we didn’t eat it couldnt cut it it was $31 for a small piece sea bass 31$ so small and not so good burgers were good
Waiter was not so attentive!!!! Not a great experience for something that was so expensive for what it was...
Liz was awesome!!! Great seeing her & chatting with. Very knowledgeable of the menu with great recommendations!
The risotto was disappointing because of the red sauce. I thought it would be milder cream sauce to bring out flavor of seafood
We dined early (5:00) before the concert at Ravinia. Our server was informed, quick, capable, and friendly. The food was excellent. The noise level was very low as we were there before the busiest times. We will definitely return!
Great food and service - one of our favorite places!
The service at Guildhall is outstanding. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely visit again. The music wasn’t quite the right fit for our group (celebrating my dad’s 84th bday). And the food was yummy, but not quite all there. There were a lot of bitter notes in my fish dish, there were parts that were just a bit too charred for my taste. And one of the apps we picked was a little bland. We were happy, tho, and definitely enjoyed ourselves.
Not the best we have had. Chicken dish was the weakest offering to date
Nicely appointed, yet still very cozy Guildhall had it all. Outside seating was full but our hostess seated us at a table beside an open air window- the best of both worlds. Two of us were non meat eaters and no shell fish, but we had several choices...we were stuck with just plain pasta for a change. Pepe, our waiter, lived up to his name. He was vibrant and full of energy, especially about the menu. Guildhall pours a generous cocktail and my request for more blue cheese stuffed olives for a martini was happily met. I will be back!
Good breakfast. It was a busy for brunch
Service was totally off and restaurant did not grant dining points.
Amazing ambiance, very cozy , great variety and delicious food, from appetizers to main course, to dessert!
Ordered rare salmon. Came raw. Asked for it to be rare. Came back overcooked. Best to stick with Burgers, etc.
Great spot for any dining occasion. Perfect option for local spot in Glencoe.
Foot was ok. Expensive, but ok. Service was really slow. They were not even busy! No need to go back.
Loved the restaurant especially the open to the outside concept. Wonderful staff. But the skirt steak was mediocre. I would not order that again
Guildhall was still very busy at 10:00 on Saturday night in the suburbs.
Highly attentive and friendly server, Jamie. When our food was served the manager stopped by to make sure we were happy with everything. Loved our perfectly broiled burgers !!
Note that the conversation level is very loud..
Server was fair. Surprising given the reputation I would expected experienced servers that know both the menu and wine
Guildhall is a beautiful restaurant. It has such a great vibe. Open. Airy. Light-filled. The design has some very nice details--a private dining area surrounded with tall glass walls framed in metal, antiqued mirrors, glass partitions with white wood grids, large round wood tables, comfortable couches. Very restoration hardware. The food is incredible. Perfectly cooked and presented. We had superior service. I hesitate to order seafood away from the coasts but the niçoise salad was perfect. My aunt and I enjoyed it so much we stayed for an hour and a half. Such an inviting atmosphere. Our kind of restaurant. Will definitely return soon!
I wish I could recommend this restaurant without reservation but I can only do so with a warning.... the noise level makes any sort of conversation among friends (3) near impossible. Our food was delicious. Two of us had the salmon and the 3rd had the whitefish. All were done to perfection! Terrific accompaniments. We had the beet salad and Bibb lettuce salad as starters, both were superb. I had hoped we could linger over coffee and dessert but had to call it quits because it was impossible to have a conversation. Our reservation was for 6:30 by 7:15 the noise was high and continued to build. I definitely would recommend for the food quality but if you wan’t to converse go early!
First time for a girlfriends dinner. Although my medium rare burger came to the table a little more cooked than expected, it tasted great! The outdoor seating on a beautiful summer night will have both of us bringing our spouses back for more!
I would have given a higher score for service (because our waiter was amazing and so attentive to our needs) except the front of house staff we’re lacking customer service. We requested outdoor seating and when we arrived there was a 30 minute wait, which was fine with us since we enjoyed a great cocktail at the bar to start. Soon 30 minutes turned into an hour and front of house staff seemed unapologetic when we asked for an update. It could’ve been redeemable maybe if offered a free drink or app while we waited especially since the guys standing next to us were given a free dessert just for having to stand at the bar. Definitely didn’t make us feel special.
We went for our anniversary. Great food and enjoyed sitting outside. Service was warm, welcome and very responsive
This used to be a dependable date night place with my wife. Now its just not worth going. A couple significant things have changed:
1) As a guy, I like meat choices and they really only have a fru fru pork chop and a skirt steak.
2) They don't allow us to bring wine in any more. Now the wine list is filled with either ridiculously up-charged reds or non main stream selections that noone would know the normal market price for.
3) Prices are way too high for what we received; we can go to Abagails, Minos, or Evanston for better food and drink
Fresh and delicious food
Great service and ambience
This was our first time and will not be our last. Our server, Carlos, was excellent and the food was beyond delicious and plated exquisitely.
The manager was very quick to solve, what he perceived as an issue, which wasn’t. We liked how attentive everyone was
Looking forward to dining at dinner time soon.
