Great ambiance and food! First time there and we really liked it.
Love the brunch at Guildhall. The menu is full of unique choices. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. You don't feel rushed while dining.
This is one of our favorite gems. We always have a fantastic meal here. The short-ribs are our favorite but everything is superb. Sunday brunch is fresh and healthy or totally hedonistic -- as the menu affords both. One of the things we like the most, though, is the incredible service. Our favorite server, Pepe, reminds us of the career professionalized waiters we've encountered in Europe, who take the utmost pride in their job and who skillfully think of everything you need before you need it, making service more than a job but an art. One of the most endearing things is the way Pepe warmly greets regulars and newcomers alike at brunch or dinner by saying, "Welcome Home." We do feel at home at Guild Hall. The architectural details and feeling of the building offer beautiful atmosphere, the food is consistently delicious, and the wait staff is always warm and gracious. Our favorite thing to do in summer is to bike there for Sunday brunch, where patron bikes are welcome outside and you can sip mimosas alfresco. Winter is somehow cozy but elegant, achieving a best of both worlds. We highly recommend for all seasons!
We had a hard time figuring out the pricing of the wines by the glass, and they were really expensive as compared to the prices of the entrees. So if expense might be an issue for you, keep that in mind.
Delicious as always
Delicious food. Great atmosphere.
We have gone to Guildhall many times and the quality of its food vs the pricepoint has continued to be lower and lower over the past year or so. Probably won't return and just not worth the money.
Delicious way to celebrate our anniversary!
Extremely noisy, otherwise great!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Guildhall. I think our waiter was new as he seemed nervous and had to check on some questions we asked but he was charming and efficient. We had the bone marrow and the four of us were fighting over the last bite! It was all very yummy. My only complaint was that we had to wait for our table (we had a reservation) for a bit and we were so close to the next table that our conversations became public. But other than that, we enjoyed our evening immensely.
The food has improved quite a bit on our last 2 visits. However, the menu changes regularly, so you can't count on seeing the same dishes. This is the good and the bad.
Food great. Service rushed.
The food was excellent but be very careful of the wine “special.” We got our bill for 3 glasses of wine and it was $76. True they were mini- “carafes” and purportedly 8 oz, but you ought to make sure you want to sign up for that.
Really a great find! The bone marrow appetizer and the sweet potato ravioli was amazing. Our services was wonderful!
Gotta' tell you about this. Had gone to Guildhall a while back and brought home some leftover food. Got home and found the pasta was missing from the leftover meal. Called and they apologized and said to mention it the next time we came in, and they'd make good on it.
Went last night, completely forgetting about the missing pasta from the previous visit. When the check arrive, the manager told us they had credited the pasta from the previous outing on tonight's check because there was a note in the computer about it!
I was blown away. I had completely forgotten about the missing pasta leftovers and it never would have crossed my mind again. But Guildhall went WAY beyond the extra mile to take care of its customers.
I will definitely be returning and telling anyone who will listen that Guildhall is an outstanding restaurant with top-notch service and food.
Many thanks to the staff for a wonderful pre-theatre dinner experience.
Brunch was wonderful. Delicious food. Incredibly attentive wait staff. Reasonable pricing for the food quality. The best Sunday brunch in the area.
On the inside, this restaurant is beautiful. It is also one of the loudest restaurants I have ever been to and found myself shouting to the person sitting next to me. The food was OK. I don’t feel as though the quality justifies the price. The pasta was Koch just enough to be chewable And wasn’t particularly flavorful. Carrot soup was delicious but the butterhead lettuce salad was not anything special. I really wanted to love this restaurant, but walked away feeling less than impressed.
Very good service and food. Went with another couple and they all ordered the branzino. I had the burger. We all thought our meals were great! Waiter was very attentive.
Delicious, pretty, fun. Great waiter too. And who would have thought a salmon and grapefruit salad would be so good!???
Great food but always pushing the alcohol! Waiter forgot to take my order after he took the 6 other people in our party!!! Weird how he walked away & never came back! When everyone’s food was served my fish was dried out and just ok. They must have rushed my order.Disappointing considering I dine here often.
Loved it!! Fresh, friendly, cozy. Great brunch menu, attentive waitstaff. Upscale yet casual.
Excellent food and some inventive twists. We loved the bone marrow appetizer, fish and burger. I’ve been here several times and always love the food and decor. 4/5 stars because it’s kinda loud and dim so you’ll need your iphone’s flashlight to read the menu and get ready to talk loudly... and the cocktails can be a bit weak. I still recommend it.
Our new favorite Sunday brunch place. Love that they open at 10 AM, rather than the 11 AM like a lot of other places start. The menu has a good mix of breakfast and lunch type dishes, with a variety of sweet and savory. The prices are very fair. Everything is delicious, including the side orders of sausages and bacon. Next time we'll try the fresh donuts.
We had the best time! Had fantastic service and the food was amazing! Will go back for sure!
Excellent. First visit. Highly recommend , especially if you plan to visit the Botanical Gardens. Best kept secret restaurant.
Really loved my lunch of tuna nicoise! The ahi tuna was perfectly prepared and the lemon garlic dressing was light but still flavorful. Topped it off with a yummy cappuccino. Wonderful meal, atmosphere, and service!
The Guildhall had me at chorizo hash! I met a friend here for brunch on a Sunday and there was a lively crowd. The waitress was attentive and we were intrigued and amused when a beer came with our Bloody Mary. Who knew? My friend ordered the prawn salad and it was truly delicious with large prawns on it. However, we both could not stop eating my chorizo sausage hash with two over easy eggs on top of it. It was creamy, savory, hot and had a burst of flavor from the finely chopped sausage. I cannot wait to go back to try this dish again. I highly recommend Guildhall for brunch or lunch with friends! A local gem.
We had a wonderful meal. Great food, very accommodating.
Won't be coming back!! We arrived at 6:15pm and planned to have a leisurely dinner with friends. Instead, our server rushed service and made us feel very uncomfortable with the obvious need to turn our table quickly. Sound level was beyond, and the elbow-to-elbow seating made having a simple conversation very difficult. I had expected much better based on reviews!! Very disappointed!!! Checking this one off of our list!!
The quality and creativity of food has greatly improved and worthy of a foodie. Service has improved as well. However, a plain (not call) martini is priced to high, 16.00. At that price, the limit is 1. If priced at 10, a patron may order another. And please get better quality cocktail onions--the mini soggy syrupy 2 really ruined the drink.
Second visit ! Food was good ! waiter was nice!! Service seemed a bit slow but over all a nice evening! Nice place for a Saturday night , however a tight
area to wait for your table for 20 minutes after your reservation time !
They serve a nice drink. The noise level reminds me of O'Hare airport. It's not a "go to" restaurant given the noise & price.
Guild Hall is by far one of the best restaurants on the North Shore. The service is always outstanding. Truly top notch, professional wait staff. We are always greeted warmly - and recognized as return guests. The atmosphere - while a bit loud - is pretty and buzzy. Great lighting, nice ambiance - it feels like a place in the City - without making the drive to the City. The food is outstanding! The short ribs are amazing! I look for them each fall to see when they are back on the menu. This place absolutely nails it every time. They serve up amazing food, with terrific service in a pretty space. Guild Hall hits on all cylinders! If I could make just one suggestion, it would be to find a way to better control the acoustics. It can be very loud (especially on a Saturday night). That's part of what makes it buzzy and fun, but one also doesn't want to shout over dinner. Despite the high noise factor, I keep coming back because it is that good!
Good but WAY too noisy. Probably won’t be back. Other options around that you can actually have a conversation at.
Food has remained excellent here and there is a new fall menu. The only real drawback to this restaurant remains the noise level. When more than 1/2 full you can barely converse with the person sitting opposite you. Surely some noise absorbing material could be added!
Lovely dinner. We’ve been once before at brunch on a Sunday and were not terribly impressed (good but not great). Tonight was delicious and the service wonderful.
We have been going here for some time now. We just went around 7 PM on a Saturday (w/reservations) and had to wait for a bit since we wanted 'Pepe' as our server. I think because it was sooo busy there, we didn't really get to chat with him, and I think he was trying to be on his game at a crazy-busy time. I think going there at this day/time is not a good choice. He seemed to be just going through the motions just to stay on top of things. However - the food was great, as usual. DH had the meatballs with bucatini and I had escolar(?)...mine was waaaaay better. I would recommend the items that are updated, versus what they always have on the menu. Its pretty pricey - 2 drinks were $27 for example - but those were good too. And its fun to watch the north shore weirdos in their element.
Dinner was perfect ! We enjoyed all courses and the drinks.
Terrific, professional service in a bustling bistro-type atmosphere. Cocktails and food were just what you'd expect: well-portioned, lots of herb & spice touches, at once comfy & current, and the price is fair for the quality received. We go here only 2 or 3 times per year (before theater), but we really would go weekly if we lived nearby!
