Everything was amazing. Gonna make this my once a week dinner spot. Our waitress was the absolute best
The food is very good but the service not so much. They could improve on their service.
Sides were delicious. Ordered meat lovers dinner for two. Some of meats was ok. Other cuts were tasty. Spicy cold tofu was very good. Crispy chicken was moist. S’mores for dessert was just enough to satisfy sweet tooth. Service was as good. Atmosphere was quiet so you can carry a conversation and they do a good job with social distancing.
Great service by our server for a late lunch and earning reward at Gyu!
Unfortunately a few items of the menu weren’t available. (Tuna volcano, ramen bowl)
terrible service and terrible drinks didn’t have any clean glasses or forks. Wouldn’t recommend or return. Took forever for our food to come out too.
The gentleman who served us was very patient and attentive.
It took more than an hour to get our proteins. Not sure what the hold up was, considering it’s raw meat. Salad and soup for the lunch combos came out VERY slowly. Restaurant was empty and customers around us who came after us got their food much sooner. Our waiter was nearing the end of his shift so it seemed like we were overlooked. The Midtown location is much better, both in service and quality of food.
Overall our experience was good. We waited for about 12 minutes before we were greeted for water or drinks. Food was prompt once it got started, but our server didn't come back and check on us much. We actually had to ask for a second drink from another server and it took about another 10 minutes before we received it.
New to this concept, but the waiter was helpful.
We liked the presentation and cooking some our own food at the table.
The food was good, experience was fun, and price was great !
Great food & service!
Excellent at social distance. Good food and great service
Gyu-Kaku is a bit of a strange place. During the week, there is no host or hostess on duty and it's hit or miss as the waiters have the seating duty. You can end up waiting a long time to be seated, as we did. Despite being relatively new, the tables all look pretty old and marred. The service was very slow and inattentive, and the food was only OK versus other Japanese hibachi-style places we've been to. There were not a lot of people in the place, so not quite sure what their kitchen problems and service problems arise from, but the place is pretty marginal. We had tried to go here once before, but were told we couldn't get in without reservations, so people must be attracted to its unique dining format, rather than anything else.
We have been to this place many times. They follow the COVID19 rules very strict (which is good). The first time we didn't get a nice table though (we like the booth style). Food was outstanding, our server was in training, so not all steps went too well, but no complaints lol
First time here. Went with friend. Really impressed with everything across the board. Will bring family here to try soon.
Our server Steven was great. Drinks and the food was perfect. I took my husband for the 1st time and he really liked it and we will be going back.
It’s was a good experience and food was delicious .
Had an amazing time, the hostess/waitress/server did an awesome job.
We really enjoyed our time here that we canceled our reservation for another restaurant and will come here instead. The only thing I was sad about was that I had ordered the crepe cake with our order early on and wasn’t told until we were about to pay that they hadn’t defrosted them and there for we couldn’t have it and took it off our bill for us. Stephen was our waiter and they were absolutely amazing! Thank you again
Great experience. The restaurant was following social distancing rules and occupancy standards. All the employees were wearing masks. The food was amazing.
I really enjoy the menu here and I’ve visited the Memorial location a couple of times and they seem to have a better handle on service. It’s challenging operating under Covid restrictions and it’s up to the restaurants to make the experience as enjoyable and normalized as possible. When I visit again, and I will, it’ll be the Memorial location over the Willowbrook one.
The food was delicious, and the server was attentive.
We sat near the kitchen and consistently heard an employee berate other employees for not doing their job correctly and calling them useless. Not a great visit for first timers, they just handed us the food and pretty much had us figure all the cooking times out for ourselves. We didnt know what we were eating, we just knew it was meat. It was good but im sure there are other places with better customer service and work ethics. Will not be returning.
Good food. Good service
Food is very good and and different, love going there!
The food is delicious. The atmosphere is fun. My kids love this place!
It's great for families or a date night!
First of all it was not clear that you need to arrive and have a mask per the notice on their door. We arrived and we were told we needed a mask to enter, mind you we were not offered a mask after being told this. I went back to my car and looked for one and I was now under 5 minutes from my booking time. I went back up knocked on the door and no one would open it. Went back to my car and tried to call and no one would pick up the phone. Made another attempt and then the same person answered and I told him I’m under five min now from my reservation and asked why is this not advised at the time of reservation? Then he says ‘oh we can you a mask’- okay, could he not have done this to begin with instead of creating unnecessary chaos? The note they posted did not say that and we were not told this which caused the chaos. Then we’re told to come in but we don’t have to wear it at the table, just in common areas (waiting for a table, walking to the table or bathroom). What a complete nightmare this was.
After being seated and we ordered, we get part of our order and time goes by and none of the meat we ordered comes out. We’re thinking this simply cannot be difficult, this is RAW meat on a dish why do we not have it? We asked three times before they would bring the ordered meats out and after we ate the beef bimibap bowl. So we had to order another bowl as by the time the meats came there was no rice. The Asian server kept running through the dining room back and forth- literally he was running. It was just unprofessional from start to finish and the workers seemed clueless and flustered.
I suggest whoever the restaurant manager is to hire some help and BE CLEAR on expectations of mask usage. Sadly a disappointing experience.
You should get the meat lover's it was delicious
I had reservations and had to wait, while people who did not have reservations were seated before me. I was appalled and it made a restaurant that I've been to many a times (different location) a bad experience!
Great food and great cooking experience. We definitely got our money’s worth.
Great Service and great food!! Loved everything!! Will go back
The limited valentines menu was not worth the price I got combination A. No where did they say that it was a limited menu while making reservations I complained to management that I wanted the À la carte menu and that I was not aware that they had a limited menu ahe said they couldn't do anything that the system automatically changes then after u ordered their valentine's menu they bring me the À la carte menu and said I unlocked it and that now I can order from the regular menu after I had a $100 tab that was by far the most unprofessional experience in a restaurant. The portions were extremely small the filet mignon was literally cut in 2cm chunks that were almost falling thru the grill one of the other meats was so thin it melted into the grill. I didn't complain because I wanted to enjoy my evening and not be negative but I won't be going back again.
Celine our waitress was very attentive. She went above and beyond with her service. We will definitely come back.
Waiter service was excellent and efficient in checking all of the group's needs.
Meat selections are good.
It was my birthday dinner. Enjoyed every bit of this place
Everything was great, staff was friendly and nice. Only issue was we made a reservation and it was not ready when we go there about a 15 min wait and I felt they rushed cleaning the table and might have missed a few spots, not a deal breakers as the food and staff made up for it
First time dining and it was great!
Good food and grest drinks
Great lunch prices
My dad ordered the meat lovers and most of his meats were mostly fat not even meat itself. Other than that, everything was great
