Food was great BUT the service was terrible, we had two birthdays and the waiter brought out two deserts (which we did not ask for) for the birthday guests without asking if we wanted that exact desert and charged us for the two. Also, the waiter stated a price for an item the on the bill it was more than the waiter stated. This was on a Thursday, not busy and we felt like we were rushed.
Was seated and the server wasn’t made aware for about fifteen minutes. Once they realized what happened they were prompt with an apology. They comped a couple free drinks and a salad, which was very generous. The server was very apologetic. Service continued to be a bit slow though, and the meal was a bit disappointing. My filet was rather tough for a prime piece of beef, and the mashed potatoes were rather underwhelming. Full disclosure: the server tried to suggest the cheesy au gratin potatoes, but I was in the mood for mashed. Now I understand why.
I’d like to think I just went on the wrong night. Great atmosphere and the drinks and salad were delicious. May give them another try when I am in Austin next, but with so many wonderful dining options in the area, I may not.
Abe, our server, and Bryan, the sommelier, took excellent care of us. Would definitely go back and recommend it.
This was perfect for our business dinner. We reserved a private room and our waiter and waitress took very good care of us! Would definitely come back again!
Always a good time at III Forks. The staff knows us and is very attentive to us.
3 of us split a 48 oz wagyu cowboy ribeye which was outstanding. The sides are big enough to share. Nice wine list and deserts we outstanding. Everything was very high quality which is what one would expect from a high end restaurant.
I cannot express enough how much I absolutely love this place. The customer service and the way they treat you is absolutely unbeatable by anybody in Austin. They treat you like royalty and you can tell they love there job. The food is always perfect everytime and you won't be disappointed by anything.
We were a bit disappointed in the service as he wasn't real personable. In the past, servers have been sociable and outgoing but not this time. Food was beyond excellent as always. Atmosphere was good with piano and bass playing.
Great waiter and food. Enjoyed the live music as well.
Celebrating a new job- a fantastic dinner. The best streak house in Austin.
The staff, especially the Exec Chef and the wait team were outstanding. We not only had one of the absolute best Filets we’ve had anywhere, we also had the best Creme Brûlée, and when asking how they did that particular dish, the Exec Chef came out and sat with us for several mins talking about their approach and preparation to be able to deliver a dish like that. Very personalized, professional and above anything other top restaurant teams have done.
Great time. Hosts treated us very well.
Excellent steaks, but no sides included and limited appetizers.
The service was very good. Food was okay but overpriced. Not the best French Onion Soup, I don't think it was made from scratch. For a good steak i'd recommend other restaurants in Austin. The bar was a lovely area with a great happy hour.
My wife and I were first time visitors on our 26th wedding anniversary. Our waiter was excellent as were the food and drinks. Steak was cooked to perfection and the salmon was perfect as well. We received a complimentary slice of cake which was a very nice gesture. We will come back again.
The 42 day dry aged ribeye was one of the BEST steaks I have ever experienced. It literally melts in your mouth! Not to mention the super crispy & delicious wedge salad..great starter!
Came here for dinner for a Bachelor party (group of 7). We received excellent service before we even arrived. The restaurant called me to confirm our reservation and to see if we needed anything. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and barely waited less than a minute to be seated. We received excellent service from our server and all the staff throughout the night. I even received a post dinner phone call to thank us for coming. On top of that, this was some of the best steak we've ever had with excellent sides as well (the lobster mac and cheese was excellent). I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Austin.
Our family birthday celebration at III Forks was deemed a big success. We very much enjoyed the excellent steaks and outstanding rack of lamb. We were a little disappointed they did not offer french fries or baked potatoes, however the 5 cheese potatoes, lobster mac&cheese and mashed potatoes were a big hit. Don’t miss the excellent onion rings as an appetizer. Our waiter provided good service. We especially enjoyed that the executive chef came out to chat, after we gave high marks on the food. Very nice ambiance. We will definitely be back. LM
The food was great. Portions were appropriate. My filet mignon Oscar style was amazing.
Very nice ambience. Very good service. We had a table in the bar but had to leave (for another event) before the music started, but will remember they have music for our next night out!
Thomas and Lorenzo made our 19th Anniversary celebration dinner memorable and special. Food was delicious. Dessert was to die for.
We have celebrated our wedding anniversary at III Forks every year since we said “I Do”... it has been a wonderful experience every year... however I am a bit perplexed with our experience this year.
This year, we renewed our vows, and headed straight to the restaurant. We were so excited to get our celebration started, so we stopped at the bar for drinks before dinner. We were shocked to see cutoff shorts and tee-shirts on other guests.
We even had to endure high pitched whistles from people at the bar as well. C’mon... we are not at a backyard bar-b-que! I understand this is Austin, but what the heck happened to standards??? What happened to you III Forks??? You used to be the best Austin had to offer for a fine/luxurious dining experience.
Once we arrived at the table, it did improve a little. Our waiter was a bit pushy, trying to hurry us along in our ordering. It got to the point where I had to tell him to relax, and that I would signal him when we are ready.
Our steak was perfect as usual, but we added a cold water lobster tail to our dish, and I should have asked for them to super size it for me. I have had larger lobsters at Red Lobster. It was not worth a third of what I paid for just two bites of lobster.
I have written fantastic reviews for you over the years, but I cannot bring myself to do do this time. I paid a great deal for an experience that I could have received from a local diner.
Just really disappointed in you!
Focus III Forks... find yourself again. Your true patrons are waiting.
My wife and I dined here for our Anniversay dinner. We split a 22oz Ribeye, tasty and perfectly medium rare. Through the course of dinner, virtually every waiter and manager came by to wish us a happy anniversary.
Food was exceptional and cocktails at the bar were quality drinks from friendly staff.
Our waiter was great and attentive. Food was wonderful! Floor manager passed over us when asking how things were. Obvious snub. We will go back when in Austin again though.
First class restaurant, food & service with a casual code. The local sourced lamb chops were thick, juicy & perfectly grilled with an amazing crusted mustard glaze.
Pros: Great live music, great atmosphere, excellent bathrooms
Cons: Subpar food. Lobster bisque was sadly without lobster. All dishes were underwhelming. The chocolate moose dessert was too rich and sweet too eat. Server often ignored our table and forgot to place one of our round of drink orders.
With so many excellent restaurant options, wouldn’t return other than for drinks at the bar.
Very enjoyable evening. Food was excellent.
Not worth the price
Had an amazing experience tonight with the family, Brad was an awesome server. Chef Erick came out walked us through the specials. Seriously over the top
Just a great restaurant. Well run. Management always on the scene to be sure your experience is great. My wife and I like good steak restaurants and at a certain level the experience comes down to service 3 Forks always on top of their game. The weekend music separates them from the other steak restaurants.
Nothing special. Great service though!
Food was amazing and the service was great!
This is my second time at III Forks and it was just as good at the first time! Love this place!
Great experience. Tasty drinks at the bar, timely service at table and food was exceptional. Can't go wrong at III Forks Austin!
Wonderful first time experience complete with good food and good music. Kenny Williams’ voice is amazing. Good times all around!!!
We were celebrating two birthdays and III Forks made both of them very special. The service, as usual, was outstanding. The staff are outgoing, friendly, and helpful without being intrusive-a balance many restaurants seem to find difficult to maintain. We requested to sit in the bar area as we knew that Kenny Williams was singing that evening. The table was perfectly placed to allow us, even with a toddler as part of the group, to enjoy our meal while also listening to the wonderful music. The food was also very good, from the crab legs, to perfectly aged and cooked steaks with truffle butter, to the sides. We will certainly be back.
In town to set up a new office with my husband. We were craving our favorite 3 Forks Salad and knew we could get it just across the bridge. Our server, David, was just the right amount of attentive, staff easily accommodated my husband’s scooter (broken leg and ankle), everyone was delightful as was the food. Will definitely come back whenever we’re in Austin.
