Joe Muer Bloomfield Hills
Absolutely fantastic dining experience.
Wife’s 40th Birthday. Service was excellent! Food was great! My wife and I consider ourselves food critics being that I have cooked and studied different s foods all my life. I would highly recommend Joe Muer Restaurant! Seafood was excellent! We had the raw bar plateau, 3.5 lbs Maine lobster, jumbo shrimp from the Philippines and a fantastic ribeye steak! Our server broke down the lobster for us and even offered to cut the steak! Last but not least the dessert menu is an actual rolling display they bring to your table and your server displays and explains in detail every dessert item they are offering for the evening.
I forgot to add that the Boston clam chowder was a silky smooth robust flavorful treat with perfect bite size spoonfuls of potatoes, celery, clams and so on!
We will definitely be back and will also refer Joe Muer to all our friends , family associates etc etc
My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner. Later, that night we both had severe intestinal distress. The only thing we ate in common the whole day was the soup and bread basket from Joe Muer. Logic tells you it was the soup and/or spreads with the bread that caused this problem.
Great! Delicious menu
I loved Lee who was our waitress.
My next visit will be to the Detroit location to see if the quality is the same.
Bellissima Bloomfield Hills location
First time eating here. Family dinner night. The service was outstanding as was the seafood. Really left a good impression on us. A bit pricey, but worth it. We will be back!
Service was not very good for brunch. Had to ask several times for water or coffee refills and she was unable to suggest any dairy free menu items for one of our group. Second waiter that delivered the food had to actually ask “who had a waffle?” When food was finally delivered after an extended wait two entrees were cold and one was sent back to the kitchen. There was very light traffic in the restaurant at this time, so such poor service was surprising to me. The shrimp cocktail we had was fantastic, but everything else that our group had was only average for this price scale.
Kyle waited on us and was exceptional. He sensed we knew what we wanted and had another place to go to so that foresight was key. Fish we ordered was outstanding, drinks from bar were quality and manager came over to check on us and was entertaining. Overall, fabulous experience. We’ve eaten there many times since it opened and have also dined at downtown location.
They messed up our steaks but immediately rectified it and gave us free desserts for the mistake.
Service and food was great, we enjoyed our dinner arrangements
Sunday brunch and birthday celebration
Food and atmosphere were both good.
Our waiter, Paul, was absolutely outstanding, and made the afternoon a top notch experience. Best service experience I’ve had in a very long time!
Sadly, we were seated for 20 minutes before we were approached by our server and given drink menus, and it took another 25 minutes before we received our bottle of wine. We spent 45 minutes at our table with only water served. At that point we verbalized our disappointment to a hostess who happened by to check on seating in the room. Shortly a manager came to see us and addressed our wait - a bread basket and the customary bean salad was finally delivered to our table, as well as our server to take our order.
Unfortunately, the extremely slow service initially set an uncomfortable tone for the evening.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating a birthday...all 5 of us enjoyed our salads and entrees. Anna was a terrific server. Excellent!
Food was very good. We ordered appetizers and sushi only and it was plenty of food. The portions were large. The service was good. The only complain is that the restaurant was cold.
We had a wonderful and memorable meal for a large family across 3 generations. Service was warm and attentive which we really appreciated. All our food was delicious and the menu included options for everyone. Especially fun was the live piano player. For fine dining in Bloomfield, we felt very welcomed and comfortable thanks to the terrific staff. We’ll be back soon!
What a difference a server can make. Last week awesome ,this week a complete disaster . Server was truly out of his element , disconnected and made what would’ve been a great evening a struggle not to leave and move to another’s section. After my great experience last week this encounter was abysmal . Cold soup , mixed up/forgotten orders etc . It was a small group of 5 not too challenging
It was our Wedding Anniversary and great evening. I especially appreciated them saying “Thank You for choosing Joe Muer to celebrate your anniversary, we know we could choose anywhere.” We’ll definitely be back!
Jonathan is a fabulous waiter! All food was great & I loved the vegan dish. Birthday dessert and attention was lovely for our 99 year old Mom.
Everything from valet to the dining experience was absolutely amazing! Will be coming back soon.
Food was excellent and service was fantastic. Server ANNE Troxell was phenomenal professional and made evening joyful and fun . Will return soon
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! The service was impeccable. The food was amazing. And the restaurant itself is very beautiful.
Every thing was amazing
Outstanding restaurant!! Have dined at many higher end restaurants over the years......this is up there!! Unbelievable waiter Josh!! Make sure you try Joe Muers-Bloomfield Hills!!!
Excellent variety. Nice atmosphere. Didn’t feel rushed
Everything was on par food-wise... However even with our reservatons, we were sat in the back corner right next to the computer and near a lot of server traffic. Chair was bumped into multiple times and we both felt like we were crowded. I hoped that having reservations might avoid that from happening...
Lee, our server was attentive despite the typical valentine crowd. Rating each food item we ordered. Whole Maine Lobster steamed was excellent as it should since no skill involved to prepare. Our server prepared the Lobster ready to eat right at table side. 14 ounce steak, which according to description was coated or crusted with peppercon. Terrible. Steak shouldn't be prepared that way because it tasted like it was literally covered with peppers. Lobster bisque and fried calamari was very good. Bread served before dinner, had i known what they were would have told our server not to serve it. There were three kinds of bread. One looked like pita but had texture of saltine crackers. The other two were not appetizing at all. The dessert tray looked great but didn't have the appetite after my pepper crusted steak. Maybe I'll venture to eat there again but never for steak, maybe just never again.
If I had one complaint it would be the prices on their wine list. I am a wine drinker and I do have some knowledge of good wines. We picked a white wine I was not familiar with at a price per bottle of $66.00. When I got home I researched it and found that it can be bought for $10.00 a bottle. I understand restaurants pricing when it come to bottles of wine but that was excessive.
Nicholas Mojica was a superb server. Attentive without being intrusive, and offered helpful suggestions. Food was excellent throughout with the possible exception of the brussels sprouts. The themed desert was right on target. Nicholas did one of the fastest and well executed lobster preps that I have seen, perhaps a bit better than the downtown location. Wine selection was excellent and not extremely pricey. Tables could have used a bit more space, but considering the occasion not too bad.
Lobster tails great-yummy cream corn-lobster bisque-top notch service-expensive
We usually love this restaurant but maybe we got caught in an off night. Our server was very slow to come to our table to even say hello and to take our drink order. The drinks arrived slowly as well, and the whole dinner from then on seemed to move in slow motion. By the time our dinners arrived we both were not that hungry. The food was good, not outstanding, which is what I would expect for a restaurant of this caliber and cost.
This was not our first time there. Every time we’ve been there the food has been excellent. This time we decided to sit at the bar. The ambience is nice but the service is way below par. We do not recommend eating dinner at the bar area.
Pre-valentines day dinner. Food, service, ambience all outstanding!
My wife and I love this restaurant. The food is fantastic and the staff has always been extremely attentive and knowledgeable. They serve at a pace that enabled us to enjoy our meal without being rushed as sometimes happens at other restaurants. Our only problem on our last visit was being seated close to where dirty dishes were being staged -- my fault for accepting this table. A great place to come and relax and enjoy a fantastic meal.
Steak was a over cooked and I mentioned it to Paul (server) but said I'd eat it because I didn't want to be a hassle....he pleaded to bring a new steak and I finally agreed. It was the absolute right decision because I enjoyed every single bite after I got the new steak in lieu of being frustrated with each bite. I am thankful they were adamant about replacing it and it truly made the night. Outstanding service and food quality. Look forward to getting back to Joe Muer's.
Had a wonderful celebratory dinner in the dining room. Paul, our waiter was phenomenal - very personable, professional, and attentive. St. George scallops just melted in your mouth! Deserts were divine.
Probably the best dining experience I ever had! Looking forward to our next visit.
Enjoyed for my birthday dinner
Fabulous seafood and fabulous service!
Celebrated my wife's 50th birthday here...as always, a great experience!
