Joe Muer Bloomfield Hills
First time at Joe Muer Seafood. Food was delicious. Waitress was very nice. Ambiance inside restaurant was beautiful. Piano music in background was nice.
The restaurant wasn't crowded. Why did they want to seat us right next to the only other table that was occupied in that room? Service was good but very slow.
Simply put, this is a great restaurant.
Generally a great experience. New management and inexperienced staff caused a challenging experience with multiple incorrect courses and a lack of management intervention. While I'm a regular, after this experience I'll consider some other local options this Winter and let them work out the bugs. Surprising and disappointing, as they've been a staple in Detroit for many years. Hopefully, the challenges are limited to the Bloomfield Hills location however the new GM told me that he was from Detroit, and some bus staff mentioned they are recent transplants as well.
Unfortunately the service was not what I expected for a high end restaurant.
First time at the restaurant. Delightful experience.
Wonderful service and amazing food.
We will be back.
The food is great and every bit as good as the original Joe Muer’s in Detroit!
I thought we were having a casual night out but this restaurant is very upscale. It was an early valentine dinner.
We were celebrating my 59th birthday 2/6/60) and our 25th anniversary. I ordered the scallops & told server that I was sensitive to garlic, onion, black pepper, gluten & dairy and that I didn’t want any additional salt added to my meal. I was served scallops and asparagus only. She said she’d look for gluten free bread but couldn’t find any. I don’t feel that the dish was worth $40 considering I just had scallops & one side. I asked about potatoes but she said it wasn’t included in the dish. We got a birthday dessert but I couldn’t eat it cause it contained dairy and flour she should have offered me a gluten free dessert or sorbet. Very disappointing.
This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The staff were amazing, the food was great, and the decor is stunning. I highly recommend them!
I loved it. Wish there were more locations. Staff was very inviting and friendly. The bartender Chris knew exactly what type of drink to recommend based on my likes and he was spot on, and the sushi was amazing! The only downside is that it is 45 mins away from where I live; so we need more locations ok. Thank you!
Lee was very attentive and knowledgable. It was our first visit and we will return.
Love the restaurant. Food is really good but pace is way too slow. Too much time between courses. Not the first time either. Was there with a party of six last Saturday and we expect a leisurely dinner knowing how busy they were ....it took over 3 hours which is too slow.
We used to go to Joe Muirs 40+ years ago and decided to celebrate Dad’s 94th. What a great decision! Exceptional service, sensational food, wonderful experience. I’m sorry it took us so long to find them again. We will be back. It was a dining experience not a meal! We were all knocked out by the evening.
It was our first visit and I was very impressed. Our favorite restaurant is Milos in Manhattan for seafood and this was a close second. Our server Brittney was the definition of a professional. Her knowledge, recommendations and consideration allowing us to take our time enjoying our meal made the night even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding! We started with shrimp cocktail with fresh horseradish that was amazing. Next we tried the mussels with tomato and fennel broth and wonderful toasted bread points. For dinner we split Branzino with grilled asparagus and stewed tomatoes! Everything was so simple, fresh and perfectly prepared. Truly outstanding. We topped off our meal with German chocolate cake with sea salt and espresso. Superb. Overall outstanding dinner and we are going back this weekend.
Only the service was good. The food quality was poor. The restaurant was cold
Great service and always good seafood selections, nice beverage list. Highly recommended
Great wine list.
Service was top notch! Food was amazing and they took us at 10:30pm. One of the best meals I have had in a long time!
Amazing food, fun but cozy atmosphere and excellent service!
The food was amazing and our server was amazing. Very quick and attentive service. We had several appetizers, a soup, squid ink pasta which was amazing.
The Fruit of the Sea dish offered large sized shrimps and scallops with tons of calamari and about 2 normal size pasta portions instead of just loading a plate with pasta which was nice.
We also had the Elvis cake which was a nice treat. It tasted like a high end candy bar with rich chocolate.
I will be back.
excellent service. Great food.
My son in law ordered the 32 oz. American Imperial Wagyu Tomahawk 40 day aged, long bone ribeye steak. This was $130.00... not worth the price. It should have been the best tasting steak and melt in your mouth taste. He was very disappointed. This is not his first Wagyu Tomahawk, plus he has been a chef for of 10 years, so knows his way around food.
Also, we had table for 6 and asked to add 2 more people, was told on they were booked solid. When we arrived and through out the evening, we saw many open tables. We even asked to put 2 together and was told we couldn't. Sad they didn't try to accommodate us, since they could have, and we explained this was a family member coming into town unexpectedly for the 2 birthdays we were celebrating.
Our server JACOB WAS AWESOME, couldn't ask for a better server. A very nice and attentive young man. The rest of the dinners were good, salmon, tuna tartar, fish special and appetizers.
I took my friend to Joe Muer's and both the meal and atmosphere were fantastic! Our Server was very attentive and knowledgeable too. I HIGHLY recommend Joe Muer's and will be back soon!
The food was very good. The service was outstanding, very attentive yet not overbearing.
We met up with some friends who will be moving out of state. I have to say the noise level was very high, we could barely hear each other talk. Service was slow But the food was excellent. Plan on spending lots of money and time if you go during peak hours.
Service was slow...They forgot our app. Way too expensive for that experience.
Food and service were excellent
We were overwhelmed with the noise and it was too difficult to shout at dinner friends equally difficult to hear them try to shout at me
Was a date night with special reasons. Truly an outstanding evening. We should do more often
I’m a regular at JM’s Bloomfield. It never disappoints! Outstanding in every category.
My daughter invited me to Joe Muer's for dinner this past Thursday night, and it was absolutely amazing!!! From the time we walked in, to the time we pulled away, and an incredible experience!! The hostess, and coat check attendant were lovely! Our server was Robert, an extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, young man. He explained the specials to us, and offered cocktails and appetizers, (which made our mouths water, lol). He was able to answer all of our questions so we could make our choices without hesitation.
My daughter and I ordered cocktails, and shared 3 appetizers, Shrimp Ilene, (with just a taste of garlic, and baked in almonds, wow!) Deviled Crab Balls, (soft, and just went down so smoothly!) and the Lobster corn dog thingy-which I can't even describe--as it was THAT good!!). They were ALL HEAVENLY!! For dinner, we each got a filet and lobster entree, and since I don't care for asparagus, I got the creamed spinach with mine. The food was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth INCREDIBLE!! I don't think that I have EVER had spinach that was that creamy and delicious!! (I also loved the sorbet in between courses, meant to "cleanse" the pallet as Robert explained).
We finished our meal by having dessert, (which were all presented in person, one at a time, from a huge tower display, which just made them that much more irresistible, lol). I had the NY style cheesecake, and my daughter had the chocolate "dome" dessert, and lastly, we enjoyed an after dinner cocktail, to finish off a perfect evening!
In fine dining, you get what you pay for, and in this case, JM's was no exception! They may be a little pricey, but they are worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!!! I will be visiting again, in the very near future, and since Robert was so great, I will be requesting him! He made our evening!!
Perfect meal for lunch meeting.
I will stick to my local fish food restaurants in Novi. Timing between appetizer and main meal really sucked.
The food and service at Joe Muers is outstanding. It is expensive but worth every penny for a special occasion.
This is reminiscent of the old Detroit Joe Muers ! Outstanding food and service!
I was a fan of Joe Muer's Restaurant for many, many years ---- and you are not even close of the food at the original. Too bad, and disappointed.
Overall service was excellent. Our server was a pro. Better than I had experienced from other Joe Muer restaurants. The newer venue will definitely be a good compliment to the renewed hotel. I’m a food snob so it’s the only reason I didn’t give all 5stars. Happy New Year!
appitizers ok calamari tons of breading crab very small

SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING,LANCE WAS EXCELLENT AND THE HELPER WAS SO ENJOYABLE A PLEASURE TO BE AROUND.
