Joe Muer Bloomfield Hills
Eight of us there for Sunday brunch. All eight of us ordered something different. Six of the meals were lukewarm, at best. Only two said they would order their meal again. The service was great. The food, not so much.
Joe Muer has been our favorite restaurant for years and the Bloomfield hills location is just as wonderful. Our server was Pauly and he was so amazing. Service was spot on, he was very knowledgeable on the menu and he was so kind. The food was amazing and it’s the best seafood in the metro-Detroit area. I’ve eaten at some of the nicest seafood restaurants in Michigan but nothing ever compares to Joe Muer.
My Wife and I enjoy sitting at the High Top Tables near the Bar. Very romantic. Enjoying the piano or just having a quite evening alone. Always a good time.
A bit pricey, outstanding service, the food was excellent.
Our experience at Joe Muer Bloomfield Hills was very enjoyable. However, I do have some concerns. We were seated at a front booth near a doorway. It was cold most of the time. I ordered the trio of soups which were not hot...barely warm. My entree was the Scottish salmond with potatoes and vegetables. Everything was very oily. Oil was all over the plate. The best part of our dinner was the coconut cake. It was delicious.
Everything was very good.
It was amazing as usual!! Family friendly and a great time was had by all. We can always count on Joe Muer for a memorable and special time.
Good was fantastic and service was exceptionally good.
We had a reservation got in right away the table they gave us was not the best because it was right by the waitress station and people are bringing food in left and right over our heads
The service was spectacular as well as the ambience and the restaurant
The food was not hot but the plates were very hot when it came out
One thing that did happen just as we finished dinner somebody broke a glass one of the waitstaff and it was glass all over our table and us and nobody even apologized. We thought with it isn’t nice as a restaurant as it was somebody would’ve came over and apologized for glass all over us and the table when we left we were still stepping on glass if that did not happen it would’ve been a fantastic meal
Rachel was our server, as we always request, and she was excellent, as always. As testimony to our views, we have made two more reservations, including New Year's Eve.
We love it here! Great food, excellent service and great atmosphere complete with piano bar!
great food and service, to loud in the bar area had to move to a quiet table
Excellent service, delicious food. Jazzy decor. Will go again!
I highly recommend the brussel sprouts.
Delicious and pampering!
Great food - service was exceptional - a large party made the noise too loud - difficult to have a nice quiet romantic conversation
We had a wonderful dinner and a great time at Joe Muer Bloomfield. The food was wonderful we highly recommend this restaurant. Kyle was our server, Ryan our bartender, and we will ask for them again. All of the staff were stellar and the manager very warm and friendly. We can't wait to go back and will do so soon.
Shayla at the door was gracious and welcoming...checked with us regarding our special occasion for our guests. Lee our server was attentive and made the entire evening a great experience! AWESOME SERVICE!
Our guest left his hat by mistake and Shayla called to let us know and confirm it was his...very kind of her!!
Our experience was absolutely spectacular! I have never been to a classier establishment. Our server, Miranda T (#337), was simply amazing! She was extremely personable, professional and knowledgeable. We loved the atmosphere, ambience and the piano playing in the background. The food was the best.
4 out of 7 meals were considered poor including a steak, scallops and two high end fish fillets. Great atmosphere and service but the meal was very disappointing.
We had our second anniversary dinner at the Bloomfield Hills Joe Muer. Our first, was at the Detroit location. I'd have to say, we like the Detroit location better. The Detroit location had more laid back clientele... as well as lobster corn dogs, that are not offered at this location for some reason. Looking around the dining room at this location, everyone looked very self-involved and pretentious with a sense of entitlement (no real surprise). That was the only negatives from our dining experience here. The food was excellent and the service was amazing.
One other thing, I really wish a high-end restaurant like this would get rid of the giant televisions. There is no need for them here. It kind of cheapens the experience. Go to a sports bar if you want to watch sports. Go here to have a stimulating conversation with those at your table.
So in this reviewers opinion, if you want a laid back atmosphere and lobster corn dogs, go to the Detroit Joe Muer's location instead.
Best Sunday Brunch in the Detroit Metro Area. We love it!
Waitress was very nice and did a wonderful job
Great food and service. Little loud and bright lights. Saturday night date night and the lights could be dimmer like the joe meur in Detroit.
I am originally from the Detroit area and have returned for a visit. Thought about Joe Muer restaurant. The meal was very good and it brought back some good memories of good times in the past.
A beautiful setting for a lovely meal. Our waiter was wonderful and food delicious. We would definitely come back for another special occasion. To us, this is a"special occasion restaurant!" All good...we loved it!
Slow service- plus forgot to bring out soup/salads prior to main course.
Our waiter Matt was amazing! His recommendations and constant attentiveness to our needs were impeccable. The appetizer of scallops with heirloom tomatoes that Matt suggested was the best scallops I have ever eaten. My friend especially loved the shrimp and crab risotto as a side dish. We both would love to come back to eat there more often but the prices are too high other than for a special occasion. It would be nice to see a few affordable main entrees added to the menu. I would love to patronize Joe Muer's more often but cannot afford it. On a Tuesday night, the two of us had a bill over 200.00. This did not include any alcoholic beverages other than my friend's single inexpensive glass of wine with dinner. She had Whitefish and I had Halibut for main entrees. We shared one salad and one dessert. Everything we ate pleased our palate but not our pocketbook.
Nice place, good food, everybody minds their own business. It's perfect!
We love coming here. The atmosphere is great, love the pianist, and the service is outstanding. The food quality and options are top notch. I must admit the prices are a bit high, but quality comes at a cost. There are few restaurants that serve classiness with a great meal.
Great food. Stone crabs and king crab legs were excellent.
Enjoyed our dinner even though it took quite awhile to get our dinner. The waiter was very good. We were seated next to an overcrowded table meant for 8, but 12 were squeezed in next to us which made us very uncomfortable, younger group wrapping their arms and legs around each other, sitting in each others laps snapping selfies. Maybe they needed rooms at the Doubletree hotel next door. Not the Joe Muir ambience we were expecting.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Everyone is amazing from the hostess to the wait staff! The food never disappoints!! I recommend this restaurant whether it’s just a night out for two or a large celebration. There is something on the menu for everyone. Go and see for yourself, trust me, you will be back!
Dritan our server was very attentive. Took a personal interest in our special occasion and did all he could to ensure we enjoyed our dining experience. The food, wine list, and overall dining experience was very pleasant! Would return again for sure!
Amazing food and service. Our Server Lee was amazing!
It was Sweetest Day and they were busy. I made reservations ahead of time and were seated at a very small table for two even though there were plenty of larger tables that were set for two people that were empty. My wife had to send her medium rare fillet back because it was medium well. My meal was overcooked as well and the vegetables were cold. We had a drink apiece, one appetizer, split a salad and had our main entree. Our bill was $250.00! Our waitress, Miranda, was excellent. She was the very best part of our experience. Miranda was very knowledgeable about the menu and drink options. Our experience was marginal at best. We have eaten at Joe Muers in Detroit many times, with very good results.
My wife and I had a really nice Sweetest Day dinner at Joe Muer. Our waiter was Ryan and he was fantastic! Very personable and attentive to all of our needs. I would highly recommend Joe Muer to anyone interested in a delightful dining experience.
An outstanding experience.... Terry and John went out of their way to insure our satisfaction. I had ordered the Lamb Chops and Terry went out and obtained the mint jelly for me. On our last anniversary visit I had ordered the lamb chops and the waiter at the time apologized for not having mint jelly but insured me that it would be on hand for our next visit. Terry went out of his way to obtain the jelly for this dinner by contacting a friend nearby and going and picking it up. Joe Muer is our special restaurant that will always receive our recommendation and patronage. Great Job.. !!!!
Service and food were excellent
