I’ve eaten at Joe Muers multiple times and this time was by far the WORST service ever. It was a Sunday night, there were 4 TABLES total and the service was so so bad. We waited 40 minutes between courses, were never checked in on, and our server Nancy ignored our table and we were celebrating a 60th birthday with 6 people.
So disappointed and unhappy
Fish ordered medium rare. Came to table well. Server did not come back for awhile to check on dishes. Fish went back to kitchen to be prepared again. Rest of party done eating. Told since the sequence of the meal was out of sync they offered a dessert. Key lime pie( very dry not fresh). We did not mention the dessert issue with server.
Received check and was then charged for 2 fish dinners.
Not a busy evening. Very careless not proofreading the check before handing to guest. Management should have taken the fish off the bill instead of offering a dessert we really did not want. Expected better service all the way around. Very disappointed.
Always great food and very friendly service. I LOVE the idea that they have a modest dress code too. It's NOT unreasonable to have options for fine dining that exclude, jeans flip-flops and ripped t-shirts with baseball caps.
We were celebrating my friend's 70th birthday and it was very nice and our waiter David was very attentive and welcoming. He was excellent and so were the other guys that were supporting him in his efforts. We would highly recommend this location in the future to anyone I come across.
Always a good time. Caught some Great happy hour before dinner. Food selection at happy hour is one of the best around. Both of our entrees were delicious! Service was great as well
Always enjoy a true dining experience at Joe’s. Service outstanding.
Couldn’t ask for a better meal!
Outstanding service, as expected for Joe Muer and all their restaurants. The waiter gave proper recommendations, which were appreciated. The seafood squid ink pasta dish is to die for. There is so much seafood - nearly more seafood than pasta. Good size portion that I was able to take half home for lunch the next day. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal with family.
Service was amazing, at the hostess stand, the bar and the table.
I like the food here. But for some reason I am finding the service to be a little off. For what you pay, I expect dishes to be cleared and mistakes not to be made as to who is eating what. I expected a little more attentiveness from the waitstaff
Also the restaurant was almost empty and they had sat everyone in the coldest area of the restaurant. I was with 4 women all who complained about the temperature in the restaurant.
Outstanding service. Our waiter was great; my friend the sommelier was great as usual. Food was mostly good. Excellent oysters, ceviche, salad, soup. Main dishes were mostly good, but not served as hot as we would have liked. Most disappointing were the side vegetables. Undercooked Brussel sprouts, over cooked spinach. Desserts were fabulous. Great atmosphere, especially for a special event.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner and service at Joe Muer in Bloomfield Hills! Great food and service!
Great food with exceptional service
We were celebrating our friend’s mother’s 90th bday, and everything was great.
This was the best date night we’ve had in a long time. I particularly loved the Barramundi and the Mac and cheese. Lance and Robert gave us spectacular service and they were very knowledgeable and accommodating. My date was treated like royalty. We have been meaning to come here for a while and I’m very glad we did. We will be back! Thank you!!!!!
Horrible from start to finish.
Great meal and the service was phenomenal- Marko’s explanation of the entrees was very detailed and spot on! He is a great Server. Loved our meal at Joe’s!
Disappointing experience. Table of 7 people. Three hours from the time we arrived until we left.
Service was a major issue. Unacceptably slow. My daughter's meal was entered into the system incorrectly. All of us were served our meal and finished our food by the time my daughter's salmon dish arrived. She ate it quickly because she felt guilty that everyone else was finished. Server apologized, but why no offer of a complimentary piece of cake or something? Our server was gone for long periods of time. It took 20 minutes to get the one piece of cake that was ordered for dessert. I had to aggressively flag her down to get final bill. Food was ok in general (some dishes better than others). The lobster bisque was ordered by 3 people but only one person ate it because it had an odd taste. Have they changed the recipe? The server didn't even bother to ask why the bisque was untouched. We were treating my in-laws and I didn't want to make a fuss. To top it all off, we asked for my son's leftover filet mignon to be wrapped to take home. Instead, they wrapped up the BONE from my other son's steak that he had completely finished. Now maybe people take bones home for dogs or something, but who throws out a filet mignon? This is an expensive restaurant and we expect more when paying so much. We will not be returning any time soon.
Wonderful live entertainment. Also our waiter was very accommodating and attentive.
My wife and I went for our one year wedding anniversary. The meal and the service were both absolutely incredible. In fact, my wife said it was the best meal she had ever had. I stated on the reservation that it was our anniversary, and we were not only wished a happy anniversary by the hostess as well as our server, but they also brought us complimentary champagne. Because it was a special occasion, I wasn’t overly concerned about the cost, but it was a very expensive dinner. If I am going to spend $250 on dinner, it would usually include a bottle of nice wine, not just two cocktails. I would absolutely go back for another special occasion, but the cost will certainly keep it out of the regular rotation.
Pre wedding family gathering
Outstanding decor, food & staff. Best in the area by far!!
The waiter, Paul very attentive and his aim was to please
Fabulous dinner. Food was excellent. Shrimps in the shrimp cocktail were large and fresh. Both the Walleye and salmon dinners are well prepared and tasted fresh. Great House Salad. Well thought out wine list. Excellent, friendly service. Stayed at the hotel so had the chance to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktails Dan the after dinner Spanish Coffee. A Detroit Institution.
While it was a fairly busy evening, we did not expect our meal to last well over three hours. Service was slow. Everyone's soup was lukewarm, as was one of our four entrees. We sent the entrée back, but again, much time passed while it was being reheated. This was our second visit to Joe Muer's and we much preferred our first dining experience.
Terrible experience. Our waitress was extremely unprofessional. The kitchen made a mistake on my wife’s sushi order and brought her 2 rolls she did not order. The waitress then convinced her to keep the rolls since it would take 25 minutes to make her correct order. Waitress was unfriendly and did not seem happy to be serving us at all. I ordered a whisky which came in a filthy glass with debris in floating in it. The appetizers were unappetizing to say the least. Defiantly do not order the Thai shrimp ( it is extremely bland and there are only 4 pieces). My Salomon was decent but I have definitely had better at a much cheaper price. Our waitress brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. She also did not say a word when she brought the check (it was as if she was rushing us to leave). I highly recommend that you either visit the Detroit location or take your business else where. This is defiantly not a high end establishment even though it is pricey.
Our waiter Lee was amazing. He attended to our every need. Food was very tasty but could have been a little bit warmer. We will be back.
Very attentive waitstaff -- Did not have to “tackle” them in order to get service...and as usual, the food was tremendous!
Love this restaurant
My wife and I took my mother in law out for her 91st. birthday I wanted a good place to dine I am glad we went to Joe Muer's from walking through the front doors the host was very friendly and the service is very professional the food was amazing I cant wait to return and try another dish.
Reliably great food and great service. Too loud for a real date though, and no limits to their pennypinching at every opportunity.
Service was not quite what I expect from a restaurant of this cost. Other similar ones have better service. It was not bad just not as good as I expect when paying premium prices.
Great place to have an incredible meal.
The people, service, and the food is excellent.
Ann is an awesome waitress. Definitely ask for her.
Outstanding service!! Food was excellent also. A wonderful dining experience!
Poor slow service with cold food. Had to be sent back with manager bringing food to table eventually.
Usually a great place, and not very busy Friday night? Spent over two hours in restaurant.
Our server Renee was wonderful, friendly & knowledgeable of the menu. The birthday boy truly enjoyed his meal.
It’s was great evening with great food and service.
Joe Muer's is my favorite all time restaurant! The food is outstanding, and the service is first class!
Thank you for a wonderful birthday experience-and special thanks to Lee our waiter.
Our drinks took over 20mins to arrive, the appetizer was about an hour, meals took forever and arrived cold. The chocolate cake was the driest thing I have ever had. It took over 2.5 hours for 4 people on a Tuesday night. Will not go back.
The hostess was not friendly.
