Joe Muer Bloomfield Hills
Great experience. Need more vegan options.
Start to finish we had a wonderful experience. Food and service was on point
Ate in the bar for the happy hour food and drink specials. Have eaten here once previously. Overall, excellent service but they seemed a little less organized this time as they had two large parties they were preparing for. For example, we mentioned at the time of reservation that we have to avoid gluten. This was confirmed by the hostess when we were seated. However, shortly after, the waiter brought us a basket of gluten containing bread.
The manager came around part way through meal to see how we were doing.
I also ordered the buffalo sliders without a bun (as I’m avoiding gluten) and the server didn’t mention that it is a breaded chicken wing.
Everything was excellent food wise except the oysters which we were disappointed in. Drinks were excellent as well and it seemed a good value with the happy hour specials.
We had very nice time. Brunch was good. Our server was excellent. Very knowledgeable and extremely kind and pleasant. Her name was Rae.
First of all they phantom charged me a 175 dollars for a bottle of wine and foolishly didn’t look at bill and gave the waiter a huge tip ... also got so sick after eating there bronzeena fish ! Never again place is overpriced garbage and had to call and have to call credit card company to get my money back :(
Consistently excellent food and service. Always a pleasure dinning at Joe Muir.
Always great food, drink and service. If you get a chance, go!
Service was amazing. Our server, Tanya, was personable, knowledgeable and attentive. The chef stopped by as our meals were delivered and at the end of our dinner. The bartender was a true mixologist and made great recommendations. The whole experience was 5 star!! Thank you Joe Muer’s staff!
Our experience was delightful! There was plenty of “elbow” room (it was a Sunday night). I’m not sure that would at all be the case Tuesday thru Saturday. Our server Ian was excellent! We never needed to ask for a thing! The food was top notch - to be expected from Joe Muer. We will be back!!!
there are better places in town, this is not like the once on Gratiot Ave.
Wonderful service, very menu knowledgeable. Food was well presented and very tasteful. Prices were outrageous for what you received. Be prepared to overpay.
Wonderful service and excellent food. Save room for dessert because the selection was awesome
The food was average, but way overpriced. I have had much better at half the price.
Fantastic service from the moment we were seated to the moment we left. Superb food and drinks a true 5 star dining experience.
Great partner waiters and food was excellent! Since we went right at the opening of the night it was a nice quiet experience. We will be back!
This was my Dad's 83rd Birthday brunch and it was a big disappointment! It took forever (even for 3 pieces of key lime pie!!!) and the eggs benedict ALL had hard cooked eggs :(
Embarrassing for me......

Slow slow slow. Service would have been ok except instead of apologizing for the very slow service the waiter disappeared. Didn’t bring sides with the main course. Overall poor
Dinning experience was not pleasant.
Made reservations five days in advance.
Still had to wait to be seated.
Took forever to get drink order.
Took forever to get dinner order.
Food arrived late.
Wasn't that good.
Then rushed to dessert.
This was supposed to be an anniversary dinner with my wife.
Staff really made it felt we didn't belong.
To make it worse, owner an manager were sitting behind us catering / hob knobbing with an apparently more important customer.
Food and presentation were very good. Ryan, our server, was personable and quite attentive and professional. This reminds us of the original Joe Muers, which closed in 1997, that we were fond of. Thank you Joe Vicari for keeping Joe alive.
Great dinner we had a wonderful time. Love Terry the new manager!
Very good meal. Service was great.
Everything was awesome! A great experience!
From the greeting to the departure, the evening was PERFECT!
Regarding the ambience, my husband and I were seated in a corner next to a private group (in the front) who were loudly cocktailing before their dinner. We had to ask to have the glass doors closed so we could hear each other. Even then, we were told the door would be closed when they could - clearly leaning towards the party instead of diners in our section.
My husband's dinner of halibut was excellent but my salmon (even after ordering it medium rare) was overcooked and dry. I will say the salad I had was very good.
When my dinner was served I asked for a glass of wine, which was never served. Our server never came back to ask about our dinners; if he had, I would have reminded him about my wine. I enjoy having a glass of wine with my dinner. When I mentioned it later to our server, he then wanted to bring me a wine on the house. He missed the point - by then dinner was over and we were done.
The maitre d' came to our table as he did all the tables. I didn't mention the wine since I of course assumed it was on the way. However, I did tell him my salmon was dry and he just said "I'm sorry." In a place like Joe Muer with the price we were paying I would have thought he'd want to make sure all the meals were exceptional.
We had a very expensive dinner in which my entree was mediocre and I never got my wine with dinner. I've had better salmon at our spots here in Traverse City.
Was a great experience! Miranda was a great host! Food was great, drinks were great... plan on going back for sushi in the near future!
Our server, Rachel, was excellent! Every course of our dinner, from drinks to dessert was exceptional. Highly recommend for your next special occasion!
Friendly, knowledgeable service. Food very good. Noise level bad. So loud it was difficult to hear the wait staff explain the menu. Very distracting to the whole experience.
At time of reservation table was ready. Attentive service. Could have better guidance at to the appetizer's seafood tower, which is huge (and pricey). As an appetizer, one probably does not need a serving for 4 (we were four people), a serving for 2 would have been sufficient, since main courses were still coming. But food quality and quantity was outstanding. Was our third visit at the restaurant and we have never been disappointed.
We were at Joe Muer for our anniversary, which I indicated with my reservation. When we arrived were were greeted with a very sincere Happy Anniversary. from several staff. Our meal, Dover
Sole, was excellent and Anne, our server was outstanding, meeting and exceeding all our expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend both the restaurant and Anne to anyone looking for a fine dining experience.
The hostesses were rude rude rude!!! Barely an audible greeting as we walked up to the hostess station. Then instructed to “wait over there” with a slight nod of her head and absolutely no smile or eye contact. Seriously? We spent 30 minutes fighting traffic for this. The evening was planned by my 10 yo, to celebrate his Dads birthday- otherwise we would have walked out.
Our server and the bus boys were friendly and attentive.
The oysters were delicious. But our main meals - walleye and tuna entrees were disappointing.
I expect better. Never again.
The complementary navy beans were served in a shallow dish and we were on able to scoop them out. The Martha’s Vineyard salad was on uninteresting just lettuce with a less than dime size piece of blue cheese, plain walnuts and very little dressing. My Seabass was swimming in butter too rich to even eat.
our filet mignon had a large chunk of fat, so much so they gave us a free dessert of day old cake
Food very good; service poor. Waiter was pleasant but he was very slow and forgot things. We were there Saturday night of Labor Day weekend and the place was not busy at all.
We came for my husband's birtday- Dover sole is his favorite. I, on the other hand an a vegetarian. That one and only option tasted like cement paste and I ask for something else which was not much better. The chickpea balls tasted like soft paste with not much taste. Very disappointing. I should of just had the sides.
Excellent. Consistently an outstanding dining experience.
We celebrated our 45th anniversary at Joe Muers in Bloomfield and it was incredible! Everyone there was so nice and really welcoming and wanted our day to be special. Miranda was our server and she never
missed a thing. Perfect evening. Highly recommend!
One thing you can count on with Joe Muer's is Excellence. From the food, deco, service. First time at the Bloomfield Hills location an they did a great job of upholding the Joe Muer tradition. One of the fest independent Seafood restaurants in the country.
