We had a thoroughly lovely experience. The food and the service were both excellent.
Elegant dining. the ambiance is particularly nice, with tables well appointed and overall atmosphere promoting a positive dining experience.
Carrie Drummond is a fantastic server! Everything was perfect....the food, the selections, the recommendations......the entire staff is top-notch!
Really enjoyed the Lobster Fest. First time at this location - will go back. Awesome service.
We all had the lobster fest special. All the courses were excellent. Very professional waitstaff.
truly enjoyed the evening
Food was usual Joe Muer's - outstanding. Everything was as expected for Joe Muers except the service which was shockingly bad and unresponsive. Drinks took over 10 minutes, one drink order never got filled until being cancelled after 20 minutes, and requested return (to order entrees) in 2 minutes were met by near 15 minute delay.
Everything was excellent..only thing we couldn't hear the live entertainment.
Our entree's were fantastic and such a classy place for an intimate dinner or any special occasion! Prices were a bit high for a nice bottle of wine but I guess that should be expected :) We look forward to visiting again as we stayed overnight at the Double Tree which is adjoining and very convenient. A pleasant surprise for us was breakfast at Zalman's in the morning! Again the best breakfast ever, where else can you get an egg white omelette with smoked salmon, spinach & feta and the tastiest potatoes ever!
Salad was brown at the edges. Martha’s Vineyard salad was horrible. Had Walnuts. Original has Nuts. Lobster was served without drawn butter and a cocktail fork. Meat was tough. My husband and I had coconut cake. Mine was twice his size. Meal was terrible. I am part of the Muer family. Embarrassing.
Very nice time celebrating a dear friend’s birthday! Service was excellent and food very good! While not an actual ‘Joe Muer’s’ restaurant, (the Joe Muer name and trademark was purchased by owner Joe Vicari’s Restaurant Group,) this is an excellent place to enjoy many of the original Joe Muer trademark seafood dishes.
Mediocre food with 4 star pricing.
Christmas Gift for my special friend.
Dover Sole was wonderful.
Very personable waitress.
We celebrated my wife's birthday with friends and family and it was great
Our server Lee was spectacular!!! The food was tasty too!!!
Service and food were very good.
Watch out for tequila prices. 1942 was $40!!
Lobster fest is awesome. If you haven't tried their Lobster Pot Pie you don't know what you are missing.
Love the service and style of this place. The Lobster Fest meal was outstanding and a good value.
Our server was knowledgeable, entertaining and professional. A lovely evening out!
Noisy, crowded with an interesting (not run of the mill) seafood and steak menu. The scallops were delicious . The wait staff hovered (five solicitations to clear our plates), until confronted to "leave us alone". Clear attempts to get people in and out. Steer clear if you're looking for an enjoyable relaxed upscale dining experience.
I was celebrating my birthday and it was actually my birthday. They did not really go above and beyond for me. Last year, on my birthday I went to another restaurant and the restaurant put rose petals on the table, and provided us with free champagne along with a free dessert.
It was our first time dining at Joe Muer and it did not leave a lasting impression on me to return.
I have always loved Joe Muir’s. This time the food was very salty.
Great service and food!
Our waiter, Paul, was so kind and amazing! He truly made our experience spectacular!! We were celebrating a birthday; the food was delicious!!
Brunch with girlfriends. Service was great!!
Great server. She made the meal so wonderful. She shared her favorites and let us know about specials with such passion. Food is always amazing. The server makes the difference.
Great setting, great food, great wine.
The only annoying thing was how many reminders Open Table sent to me - text, email and finally thé restaurant calling to confirm. This multiple of reminders / confirmations was very annoying.
Hi again, this is the Mint Jelly guy.... it was really a pleasure to celebrate the New Year with you. I had brought my own jar of mint jelly for the chops so that Terry would not have to run across the street to a competitors restaurant.. low and behold the chef had stocked a jar of mint jelly since my last visit. We had a very good laugh over it. Great Food, Great Service and excellent customer service by all. Thank you for the desert. See you soon. Dan
New Years @ Joe Muer’s - this is our second year of booking the New Years Eve at Joe Muer’s. It was again, a very enjoyable experience. Very nice service and lots of attention. We started with cocktails and oysters and enjoyed the pairing. We had a issue with dinner coming on the heels of the oysters and wound up just finishing the oysters when the main meal arrived with wine. The result was our feeling a bit rushed. The waiter, when advised provided some additional flat breads and smoked fish pate that we polished off after the main course with the remaining wine. We had bronzino and scallops for mains. Both were excellent. Don’t miss the creamed spinach. Apart from the issue with pacing, this was a very nice meal in a beautiful restaurant. We will be back.
Excellent service, great food and an elegant atmosphere❣️
Joe Muer continues to be one of the very best restaurants in all of the Detroit Metropolitan area. The ambience is second to none. From the live piano entertainment to the well-trained wait staff to the second to none food, there just isn't any place better to go for a night out.
New Year’s Eve at Joe Muer. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. We had the crab balls app and tried the Boston Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque. The chowder is bacony and quite a different rendition from the champ at Red Coat Tavern. The bisque is rich and worth trying. The Chilean Sea Bass was excellent. We added two scallops at the suggestion of our great waiter Mitch. He and Ray made a great team. Impressive service. First time here. We’ll be back. Pricing is as you expect from an upscale restaurant.
Our dinners weren’t hot. Place was way too noisy. Food value for dollar was not good. We won’t be back.
Cristmas Eve celebration
I’ve been going to Joe Muers for many years and I have had great meals over much of the time. We went to dinner on Christmas Eve (which we’ve done for the last 4 years) and we’re terribly disappointed. Food quality has been noticeably dropping but our dinner that night was really subpar. The dover sole was rubbery and tough; two words one would never use to describe dover sole. The server took our wine bucket mid- meal and gave it to another table of diners. We realized it was a holiday evening and very busy; we chalked up the curt perfunctory service to that. Overall the experience was less than expected given our experience of dining at Joe Muers over many years.
Good food. However the service could have been better. Had to ask for more water several times
We sat down at 5PM on Christmas Eve and the restaurant was only about half filled. A staff member immediately came to our table with water but we waited for over 10 minutes to be acknowledged by any server, even though several walked past us and served the tables around us (clearly seeing that we had been sat in their section). Thankfully, a server named Brandon noticed that there was a problem and made sure a server attended to us.
After we finally received service, the food was very good but a disappointing start when you are paying for five star service. There was no concession made to our bill for the poor beginning we had, while other fine dining restaurants in the area would have at least comped a drink or provided some sort of acknowledgement for the misstep.
Lee was Top Notch!! He was very friendly, professional and it was a pleasure to spend Christmas Eve with him.
Even on a holiday eve, service was excellent! Food quality was also five star, so much so in fact, we made New Years eve reservations as well!
Nick was great.
Fantastic food as always. My husband and I planned hors d’ouevres for Xmas eve before Christmas dinner. Food was fantastic but service was a little annoying. Server talked to us through our entire appetizer course and also another server dropped a tray onto my husband. Not professional level, which is what you’d expect at this price level.
We arrived for our Christmas Eve dinner at 4pm, pleasantly quiet so we could talk. We were happy to be leaving at 6pm as the restaurant was beginning to fill and became noisier. It was a wonderful evening for our family.
