The food was good but sitting out on the patio was a so-so experience simply because a man with a mental issue was intentionally disturbing the people on the patio. The staff had to intervene so that we could have peace out there. The staff was great.

Pretty & clean restaurant. Wish the music was a tad louder because it was a vibe. The food was good, but the server became pretty inattentive towards the end of our meal. They also tried charging us for ice cream we didn’t ask for when we were celebrating 2 birthdays🥴

Our waiter Tony was the best! But honestly it was Sunday Supper, which we were excited to attend - but the music was entirely too loud for the size of the space and there were only 12 guests there… it didnt need to be that loud. At some point there was a speaker issue that was painfully loud and they then it was turned down. Appetizers are very small- cornbread was the best. Greens with oxtail broth should honestly be richer, but at least they weren’t over salty. All of my guests enjoyed their fried chicken. I got shrimp and grits but my shrimp was not cooked. I exchanged for chicken and biscuits. The leg I ate there was perfect. The breast I had at home was undercooked… it also took forever for our espressos, our server had to make them himself to make sure they were done right. Joyce needs to make sure their cooks are cooking things all the way through and honestly- we either need sides or larger appetizers.

This was a great food experience! Joyce was an elevated dining experience, and a homey relaxed neighborhood go to spot. The service and food/cocktails are incredible! We're not local but we'll be back to try some of the dishes we didn't get to try.

Dinner at Joyce last night was not what we expected. We made it for the Sunday soul evening only because our flight arrived late into LAX so we missed earlier seating. Music was loud that we had to basically scream to have a conversation. The mac and cheese was tasteless. The duck confit was delicious though in some respects somewhat overly seasoned. Wine list selections were limited; we ordered a bottle of pinot noir, but I'd suggest avoiding it and maybe sub it with the cabernet offering, particularly with the duck. The caesar salad was actually quite enjoyable. It was late and we were hungry and somewhat tired post-flight which may have had some influence on what might have been an otherwise hood meal.
