About this restaurant

Kaido is a Japanese cuisine eatery in Grass Valley, California begun by chef/owner Kazuhiko Mukai who grew up in a restaurant family in Japan. The atmosphere includes old Japanese movies playing in the background, some black and white, some silent, some animated, but all intended to transport you to Japan for an authentic experience while dining on the sushi and grill meals. Kaido excels at using soy sauce and sake to elevate flavors. While Chef Kazuhiko Mukai does the sushi, his wife covers the tempura, teriyaki and other entrées. You can enjoy variety with the dinner combinations at Kaido, with nine different items combined with tempura and eight with sashimi.
