One of the best restaurants in houston I have been to
food was pretty good. annoyed that we still have to ask for a menu. worth a try.
There was a misunderstanding when we first sat down and weren't provided a server for half an hour. However, once that was rectified the service was amazing. We were there to celebrate a birthday and La Fisheria did not disappoint. The octopus is delish. And ask them for the wine list as it's not on the online drinks menu. The wine wasn't that bad.
We were delighted by the many fresh seafood options prepared in different ways. It was really easy to make healthy, contemporary food choices here. Tables were well spaced for social distancing. Service was friendly but a bit spotty. Nicely busy place. We'll be back for the seafood and innovative Mexican dishes.
Jonathan was the best waiter. He knew all the recipes and origin of the dishes from Mexico. Very impressive. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for seafood with a south of the border authentic presentation.
Celebrated our cousins birthday here. The food and cocktails were phenomenal. Ceviche is a must try and their tamale dish was amazing. Pulpit (octopus) ceviche was also great. Will definitely be back here again.
We had an amazing time @ La Fisheria. The appetizers and main dishes were so delicious. I highly recommend the empanada trio and the grilled oysters with chimichurri for your appetizers and the trio tacos for your main dish. My oldest son has the tamal with lobster and my husband had the grilled octopus w/veggies. Everyone enjoyed their meal/
The service was amazing, too. Emmanuel, our server was phenomenal. He made sure that my son had a great birthday. The bartender brought my son a tequila shot on the house and Emmanuel brought him a 3 leches birthday cake with candle.
Oh, and the drinks were AWESOME too!
It was an amazing night with amazing service and food!
Great food and cocktails. Busy night so service was slow. Definitely appropriately noisy and great lively atmosphere.
The food and service were not reflective of the prices. On top of that the restaurant reported to Open Table that we didn't make our reservation which was untrue.
Made a reservation, when I went there they had no idea about it. None of their information on their website is updated, if it was, I wouldn’t have tried to eat there. Then when we got there they only had their cold dishes, it didn’t say anything about it on their website. We didn’t even stay to try the food. I was so hungry, too! Had to go for fast food that night instead ☹️
Our waiter was fabulous at suggesting what was fateful on the menu .
Overall it was pretty good. Service is a little slow on a Friday night. The ceviche was fabulous, but the entrees could have been better.
The restaurant was a bit Londres and the chips were from flour not corn, somewhat disappointing.
The wine selection was very disappointing as there was only Canyon Road in a cabernet yuck! No premium wine ruined my overall experience. The service was great as well as the food
Fun place, excellent service, small
Portions fir the price.
We were looking forward to have dinner here based on the reviews. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The rice with all the meals was under cooked, the cream cheese in the lobster tacos tasted bad, almost as if it had gone bad. The quesadillas were good. I had their aguachille which was not that tasty either. Their service was really good, but their food not so much.
Todo delicioso y excelente servicio!
Great value and service. Very good menu options. Drinks are outstanding.
We’ve eaten at La Fisheria several times (going as far as to rate them on Open Table more than once). Sadly this review won’t be as positive as the past ones. I booked the reservation to celebrate my wife’s birthday (daughter and therefore doubt Open Table was noted as well.
Restaurant was fairly busy and we were seated in the far back right corner. Initial drink order arrived within reasonable amount of time, but service quickly went down hill after that. Each time we were ready to move onto another order (appetizer, next round of drinks, ordering for our meal), we truly had to wave the waitress down. She and the majority of the other staff were very preoccupied with setting up the back room for a large event and our table was rudely overlooked. If they weren’t shuffling tables around in the back, they were grouped together around the bar when tables needed to be tended to. It was a horrible experience to say the least.
Appetizer (ceviche trio) was very good. Dinner (trio tacos, catch of the day/red snapper and another snapper special) were good as well. Very sad that they’ve taken the plantain chips away and replaced them with common chips.
Although this place has always been one of our favorites, the lack of service this past weekend has greatly changed our opinion.
We can't brag enough about how great the food and service is at La Fisheria!
My husband and I went for valentine's day and everything was great. The food was authentic, super fresh and the service was fantastic!
We had the grilled catch of the day and it was divine. We also had the fundido which was delicious. The service was delightful.
Great for dinner and pre drinks before hitting the bars.
This was our first time there. Everything we ordered was full of flavor. The waiter even recommended a plate for us to order that was delicious. Everything from the appetizer, cocktails and food were on point. We will definitely be back.
The food is amazing. Everything we ordered tasted great. Also the drinks are well made and delicious!!! Will be a regular customer for sure....
Everything we had was delicious and the attention was amazing.
My husband and I loved this restaurant. The food was amazing, we will definitely be going back.
We always love this place. Creative dishes with flair allow us to stretch the palettes of our kiddos and they love it!
Need tone down music, food great
Lovely dinner with wonderful friends
The food is absolutely phenomenal and I can see why two of their dishes are iconic Houston dishes!
Great appetizers, we ordered the seafood soup (vuelve a la vida) and it was ok but I wouldn’t order it again. The guavarita was way too sweet for our taste and We couldn’t perceive the tequila in it. The service from one of the waitress needs improvement but it was not bad.
Broiled oyster were amazing, and so what the tamale. Wolf Definitely recommend.
The service is very good - kind and attentive at all times. The food is also excellent. The fish is cooked perfectly and paired with masterfully steamed vegetables. I come back here regularly.
we celebrated our co-worker's bday, food was excellent.
They are great. Very fast service and what I like the most is the environment
Always a great time and great food.
I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. Went for lunch date one day. The service was horrible. Had to ask multiple times for tea refills. Anything we asked for took way too long to bring. Server didn’t know the menu. The food was decent, but for the price, I expected much better.
They took quite a bit to bring the food they only had 2 waitresses
