We went on a Friday afternoon (~12PM), as a party of 2, on a nice autumn day. The restaurant has taken up the space of the “resting hut”, well-known by Unionville locals, pushing into the waterline of Toogood Pond; it has kept its quaint and cozy charm. The patio area has repurposed the “boardwalk” section of the hut, so you can enjoy scenic views across the pond on a nice day. We ordered the Mortadella & Burrata Pizza (contains Pistachio) to share. Notably, the pizza is fresh out the oven; however, to critique, this pizza lacked a dimension of flavour - I would suggest for them to consider adding roasted garlic for a more well-rounded flavour profile. Cannot critique further as ingredients put together are as they come and do not reflect their culinary techniques, but it is suggestive of their conceptualization of flavour building. With that said, fresh pizza is available across the GTA created by stronger culinary competitors, so what stands out is the view over the pizza (and that is what you’re paying for). Pricey for the quality of food when reading the rest of their menu - almost comparable to Toronto pricing for restaurants who have already achieved accolades.

Great food and service. Ambience was a little let down because the pond was drained. Restrooms were a bit dirty but only because they share facilities with the city park. Food was great and Mariana our server was really polite and helpful. Would go back once the pond returns to its former glory!

An absolute gem of a restaurant in Unionville. Pizza, pasta, salad, and tiramisu were absolutely delicious! Chef Luigi is a master! Don't miss this amazing spot.

Everything was lovely except the extremely awkward ‘rule’ that you’ll only split the cheque once. Three of five of us wanted to pay our own bill and we were shocked that your rule forbids paying for one’s own meal when in a group. This precludes me from inviting groups of friends I’m not buying meals for. Why so antiquated and user-unfriendly?

This is an authentic Italian experience. Do not expect a fusion with North America. True European hospitality. They don't rush you out to turn a table. Everything made in house. They have a great patio. Worth every penny, if you think prices look high.

Best pizza in the city. The dough is Neapolitan style and full of flavour. The toppings are quality and pair together beautifully. The patio overlooks the water and is a nice setting. Either stay in or get the pizza to go and have yourself a little picnic in the park. Either way it’s a great meal.

there are two bugs on our dish. After we reported that to the server, we got blamed on choosing to sit on the patio. Isn't that the patio is also part of your dining area that restaurant is responsible for? Honestly, the issue is pretty understandabe as it is an outdoor dinning area, but we shouldn't get blame on that. this is a very disappointed experience, cause to be far, except from the cocktail, the food are fairly good.

A Hallmark of La Fonte is the rigorous adherence to excellent Italian cuisine. I respect that and it distinguishes the restaurant. My guests like to pepper their pizza and one wanted ginger ale. The chef accommodated by sharing his pepper but there was only water-no soft drinks. A line has to be drawn somewhere; now I know. It’s still a favourite place.
