Our menu is inspired by our own family gatherings, sharing food, wine, company, the beauty of our landscape and the bounty of our Estate Grown produce.

We grow our own lamb, wheat, honey, citrus, seasonal vegetables & herbs. All our Estate produce is sustainably produced with minimal intervention and zero food miles in a reflection of the place it was grown and the people who made it.

Executive Chef, Jarrod Smith, has a passion for exploration and creativity. In addition to our estate produce, we source the best of the season's harvest, from far and wide, to enhance a vibrant, ever changing menu.

    Spend a magical afternoon by the lake at an exclusively private waterfront location. Let us look after every detail as you relax and enjoy the company of your friends and loved ones. On arrival, enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or take the opportunity to sample the range of single vineyard wines while your host shares a little about this historic property and its rich production. A short walk along the high bank leads to your table, set with glasses, tableware and fresh flowers, with a sumptuous picnic and estate wine chilling in readiness under the shade of the river gums. When you’re ready, return to the cellar door and the century old gardens of Lake Moodemere Estate.

    We’re from Melb and were meeting a friend from Talangatta for lunch. Arriving early, we were offered a warm seat and a wine tasting, before repairing to the lakeside table to enjoy a chef’s lunch with paired wines. The food, service and ambience were excellent. We’ve joined the wine club, which will sadly require us to visit every 6 months or so, in order to better choose our wines. Highly recommended.

    Such a beautiful place for lunch or even just a wine outside on warmer days. Staff are very knowledgeable about their wines! You won’t be disappointed coming here, we’ll definitely be back!

    Our guest loved the Lake Moodemeere experience. The wine tasting from Micheal was informative, witty and accompanied with excellent wine. Guests were seated with the amazing views overlooking Lake Moodemere "it couldn't be any more perfect" and "we didn't know this existed its beautiful". These were the comments made by my guests prior to dining. The food did not dissapoint and the words used to describe the taste was "exceptional" & "I cannot fit anymore in" The overall experienc is exceptional, it always is!     The food was great only let down was the chicken finger sandwiches. A better idea would be to blend chicken and stuff into a course paste served with toasted bread wedges. The visual appeal would have been better.

    We had the pleasure of visiting Lake Moodemere Estate on Sunday and enjoying a relaxing lunch under the arching, shady trees overlooking the Lake. Our visit started in the homestead with an introduction to the wines produced at the estate. It was informative listening to a passionate winemaker talk about his wines and the history of the vineyard. Following the tastings we were shown to our seats in the homestead garden and given a detailed explanation of the menu. The meal was delicious, professionally presented and consisted of several different dishes that highlighted the range and quality of local produce. The estate wines were exceptional and had been carefully chosen to enhance each individual dish. The service provided throughout our visit was professional and friendly. Our Melbourne guests were impressed with the local dining experience and we were happy to be able to share 'The Moodemere Estate' experience with them. We look forward to visiting with friends again soon. Muriel

    Beautiful setting, great food and lovely host Belinda. Nice for a long Saturday lunch and a special treat. Not inexpensive but well worth the money. Would recommend to anyone.

    We enjoyed the beautiful outdoor setting of Lake Moodemere Estate with dear old friends. Service was very welcoming and friendly and food and wine were just perfect! Could not have asked for better.

    Such a relaxing ambience on the river bank under the enormous old pine trees. We chose a 2 course lunch with matching wines after a full tasting experience. The food was amazing. Staff are super friendly and attentive.

    From the start of our experience we felt at home. We were taken through a wine tasting before our beautiful lunch with lake and Murray River views. The lamb is so tender and tasty and the spanner crab entree was so light and refreshing. Thanks Belinda, everything was perfect and we’ll be back. We also joined the club and are currently enjoying our first pack. Also, Muffin and Darcy, ( I think that was their names) your beautiful Labs, were an additional delight to our stay.

    Took the family for lunch after having been there with a couple of friends two weeks ago. New items on the menu and WOW! An absolute must if you’re in the area. Book in advance. The new Riesling is beautiful. Thanks again Mike, Belinda and team.

    Not highly recommended at all. Food was OK, Lamb was nice. dog coming into the restaurant after a swim and shaking the wet coat in the restaurant didn't impress. Service was ok but orders were constantly wrong for drinks and each course, but were corrected when we said it was not what we ordered. We expected a lot more from this place.

    Do yourself a favour and have a meal at Lake Moodemere. The food is delicious and the setting is gorgeous. And, of course, it is all accompanied by great wine and friendly staff.

    Have been wanting to come here for some time. Firstly Michael and Belinda are both so hospitable. Wine tasting very nice and informative. Lunching under the trees overlooking the water was beautiful. Food was sensational. Lamb was delish! Enjoy and live life 🥂

    Lovely place to relax outdoors shaded by old trees overlooking Lake Moodemere. We enjoyed excellent local food and wine,but a little pricy. Nice talking to the winemaker/owner.

    Beautiful winery estate, which we didn't know existed. The wine tasting experience was fun and educational and lunch was spectacular. The service all round was brilliant. Would recommend everyone visit Lake Moodemere Estate, if in the Rutherglen region. Oh yes, the wines are beautiful too.

    Absolutely wonderful as always sitting by the lake eating incredible food with wonderful hosts what could be better, this time we had the Mozzarella & tomatoes salad, and the chicken terrine for entrees, followed by the fantastic lamb ragu Gnocchi & Bouillabaisse, then the chocolate pudding & affogato for dessert. Accompanied by wonderful lake moodamere sparkling red. If you have lunch here you are always in for a wonderful meal and day the Chambers are incredible hosts.
