Le Maitre D is a personal, neighborhood style restaurant situated in the town of Penetanguishene, a picturesque bilingual community at the southern tip of beautiful Georgian Bay. The 45-seat restaurant serves lunch and dinner Wednesday to Saturday and brunch and dinner on Sunday. The menu selection consists of regional cuisines of France and Canada. It features traditional French-Canadian recipes with a Metis influence - two cultures that are part of the fibre of Huronia.The menu includes a wide range of items to suit all tastes. We truly believe in the quality of each dish. From preparing all of our sauces, dressings and dips in house, to preparing each dish as it is ordered, the result are absolutely delicious homemade dishes. We invite everyone to savour gourmet cuisine that features local products and heritage. Come experience our hospitality, enjoy the sounds of French music and the talent of local artists.

We are also able to accommodate events during hours that we would regularly be closed to the public. We will work with you to customize our space for your event, helping you decide the layout, menu, decoration and entertainment.

Fantastic food, great service and friendly staff. This virtually falls in the perfect category. We have been here a number of times and there have never been any negatives! I highly recommend it!

The service was excellent and friendly, the food was extremely good. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely recommend it to friends and will dine there again. It's really nice to have a more upscale restaurant back in town.

Wonderful food with such authentic recipes! Dave's careful, informative service added so much to the experience. Will definitely return for the perfect tortiere and the extraordinary lamb and can't wait to experience the rest of the menu. Enjoyed trying the local wine selection and appreciated the tasting so we could choose the best pairing.

Had never been to the restaurant before. Was a nice surprise for Penetang. :) Everything was very appetizing and delicious. Am planning on going back and recommending it to my friends.

Our group outing prior to the theatre went really well. The staff were attentive to the time and presented a menu with good variety. The food was freshly prepared and tasty. The team based service worked well.

Dave Brunelle welcomed us as he always does. The ambience was perfect for my wife and I to have a date night dinner. Our meals were delicious with a nice wine pairing. Unfortunately, we had no room left for dessert so we saved some calories! This is one of the restaurants we always enjoy when we are at the cottage. We highly recommend it.

Dinner at Le Maître D' this week was absolutely excellent, just as it was the last time I was there. I'm from Toronto and I would go out of my way to dine here. This restaurant - the food, the ambience, the gracious and helpful hosts, and the opportunity for fine dining without blaring music where we could enjoy both food and conversation - is one of the reasons I'll return to the Penetanguishene-Midland area.

This is a delightful little restaurant with delicious entrees and even better made-in-house desserts. We had a great time eating here and will be back!
