I thought it was overpriced. Coffee from a machine was not very good or hot. Waffles were way too sweet and overdone. We took a cab from old town at 7am for cold coffee!!!

I invited my two daughters to breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised to have access to an unlimited range af food and drinks. The vegetarian breakfast with poached eggs was excellent and the continental buffet was wide ranging and high quality. It’s also a great location, pleasant environment and the staff were really attentive. Were were hitting up against the breakfast end time and were offered free drinks in the restaurant area at the end of the morning. I would have no hesitation in recommending breakfast at this restaurant.

The welcome was food then it went down hill fast … the waiter was inept and was clueless on the menu .. the food was awful and my American guests did not eat the food … we were all embarrassed as I had booked the table for my “ boss” .. very disappointed all round ….

Surprised to find we were the only ones eating on a Sunday lunch time as the food is very good. We did have to send our main course back though as the food was not hot enough.

Quietly impressive spot for a refined but relaxed meal in Edinburgh. The atmosphere is calm and elegant without feeling stuffy, the service attentive and unhurried, and the food genuinely excellent, well-judged flavours, beautifully cooked, and clearly made with care. It felt like a place that prioritises quality over hype, which made the whole evening feel special and unrushed.

Friendly staff. A beautiful place! The celeriac and truffle soup was very good. The venison was tender and the sauce was perfect. The sticky toffee pudding was incredible. It didn’t last long of course. A warm Boxing Day dinner.
