Welcome to our MACELLAIO RC, kingdom of the Italian Fassona beef and the first butchery-restaurant opened in London. Macellaio RC of Northcote Road is the fourth chapter of our company. We offer only products of excellence from the best Italian companies such as Fassona beef, charcuterie, delicious cheeses and a quite extensive selection of Italian wines. When selecting them, we want to praise not only the product itself but -above all- the work of the artisans workers that are behind them. The beef selection takes place from small farms located between Monforte d'Alba, Serralunga, Roddi and Alba, where each animal is treated with respect. And our façon d-être, of course, the typical Italian way: a warn familiar greeting the willingness to provide the best service, like when entering in an old Trattorie of 'Bel Paese'… Welcome and feel like home!

Had a lovely dinner with two friends. Service was so friendly, genuine and helpful. Food was delicious and great value - loved the tataki. Delicious and well priced Primitivo. Homely interior that makes you feel like you are somewhere else.

This visit has not been up to scratch. The food was almost as good as usual. Almost. However the atmosphere created by the boxes in front of the counter and some kind of chaos created by different things scattered, it was not what you would expect to see from Macellaio. There was also an alarm or something loudly beeping every few minutes. All together it did not give a relaxing atmosphere int he restaurant. We will probably wait few months before coming back

The 1hr 15min wait between courses was a big problem as this was meant to be a quick bite. Plans had to be cancelled etc. There was a mix up with our order too, maybe part of the reason for the delay, but a burger and lamb stake are a quick couple of dishes. The food was ‘ok’, maybe we should have had the steak as recommended by a friend.

Love the Fiorentina and the lard bruscetta. Service was attentive. The basil panna cotta its always a mist when you go to Macellaio.

Squeezed onto a tiny table. Waited 30 mins to order after being ignored by two waitresses. Main course came out 95 mins after we arrived. Medium rare steak was served blue. Had to ask 3 different servers for the bill before it came. £70 a head for a very average meal. Very hot and uncomfortable.
