Main Street Social
Main Street Social is a nice restaurant. The food is good and the service we had was excellent. My only complaint is the noise level. It is way too loud! Which makes it difficult to have a conversation as we had to yell across the table. Not a relaxing experience.
Fantastic food and service. Very noisy inside, so we moved to an outside table. That was much nicer for us, but then the mosquitos descended. They did their best to fix it with citronella candles (and some other diners chose to move inside). The food was amazing... nice portion sizes (just enough, not too big). Very attentive and friendly staff.
Despite a couple of our meals being a bit overdone (my pork chop was actually more than a bit overdone), the flavors were excellent, the experience was great, and I will return for another try! The restaurant gets knocked for its noise level. I have to admit we ate outside in their "garden area" that is more like a "parking lot" setting. But, somehow it worked for us as well, though I'm not sure why. It just did. Quiet and the waiter was attentive, despite being a bit of a distance from the kitchen. Though I may sound conflicted, I recommend you give it a try!
Never disappointed in the food, drinks, or service .
Overall dining experience always enjoyable
Noisy and behind schedule over worked.
Nice food, almost too extensive of a menu, very noisy restaurant and difficult to have a conversation
The food and service are outstanding!!!! If i were to comment on one thing, it would be the “noise”. It is so loud you cant hear yourself think. Normally this is a deal breaker for me, but the food is extremely good, so I overlook the noise.
Creative, delicious food! Dessert was way overpriced, which is why I rated the value low. But otherwise wonderful.
I always love this place. From the bartender and hostess to the wait staff, they’re just fun- mellow and make for an amazing atmosphere.. helps that the food is FANTASTIC! Try the avocado poached egg toast, literally could eat that every day!!!
It’s my favorite in Libertyville!
our first time for brunch! will definitely be back. loved the menu!
Wonderful service and tasty food. Will be back.
Great atmosphere and beautiful decor. The food is fresh, the flavors are phenomenal and the drinks are refreshing.
Love the burrata app and the Main Street burger is phenomenal. Brunch is excellent. We always have a great time and the food is excellent.
Service was great. The atmosphere was very energetic. Food was very salty. I said nothing because it was my friends birthday and she picked the place. Later, she admitted she could not eat her meal because it was way too salty. The ice water was good. The food is not worth the price. Very small portions. Someone in the kitchen definitely got heavy handed with the salt. Dessert was ok.
Had a fantastic meal as always. Service was not as great as previous visits. This night in particular is was SO LOUD. We could not even hear the person next to us talking. They have to do something about this.
Soooooo LOUD!! Wish it was a wee bit quieter in there. Fabric panels on ceiling possibly..
Had great dinner and drinks with friends. Have been 3-4 times and each time service, food and drinks have been excellent. Duck wings, flatbreads, cavatelli and ravioli in brown sage butter never disappoint.
Main Street Social is a fantastic place to eat in downtown Libertyville. The food was excellent and the ambiance is great. We sat inside at a booth, right by the open front windows, so it was the best of both worlds. Great selection of wine and beers as well. Would highly recommend eating here!
Our server Keith was amazing! Food was great! Love the atmosphere at Main Street Social!
Enjoyed the food & atmosphere, but a bit on the pricey side and a bit loud when the restaurant filled up. Good attentive service.
What a great surprise. The Duck wings were more drumsticks but the flavor was unusual and different in a good way.
Really excellent food! A bit expensive, but the food is worth the price.
A patina of nice restaurant, but fell short in a number of aspects without being bad in any one. Food was ambitions, but somehow did not land. Menu did not seem to embrace seasonality. Flavor profile was consistently on the sweet side (exampe: brurrata appetizer had apple tomato jam with balsamic oil - ended up being sweet and with the jammy tomatoes, managed to also be non-seasonal at the same time - it was mid-summer). Pork chop was fantastic, but grilled peach mostarda once again dragged the flavor profile to the sweet. Cavatelli was good. S'mores lava cake showed no evidence of graham cracker, was very high on cake and low on ice cream or marshmallow, so the end result was not balanced, just lots of lava cake. Wine list had a good number of bottles, but almost the entire red section was either a cabernet or a pinot noir. Very few other choices.
Loved the food & our waiter
Large size portions. We had the buratta appetizer - which was delicious. Make sure to ask for extra bread. The chicken dish was great - had myrna for leftovers. Same with the mushroom ravioli. Great deal - great food and atmosphere. A little on then loud side. Perfect for summer nights - sitting near the open windows.
Pleasant day out on their patio. Nice luncheon selection. Have found their grilled Caesar to be excellent. Ordered mine with steak that came out perfectly prepared and very tasty. The Caesar is only touched by the grill but adds an additional taste level. The steak is seasoned well, tender and very flavorful.
Like this place for both lunch and dinner. Lunch is easy for a business meeting, dinner is quite a bit louder, but the food has always been good as have the drinks and wine list.
Excellent service & food!
Always a wonderful time at Main Street! Food was beyond amazing, so good you just keep eating it, even though you are full! Great service, great time!
We sat out on the patio and the bugs were terrible. We had to constantly swat them away. Our waiter was extremely pushy and would try to make us feel guilty if we didn't order what he recommended. The actual meal was good. I got the halibut but it was $34 which is the price typically seen for Chilean Sea Bass. The gelato was terrible. Overall, not worth the overchraged menu and poor service.
Glad it was nice to be able to sit outdoors. Inside is very noisy and makes it hard to hear table conversation. Excellent menu and beer selection.
We have been here before and we have always left happy. We recently came for dinner. The host was accommodating to our seating preferences. Our waiter was attentive and he gave excellent recommendations. We enjoyed our drinks (a great draft beer selection and wine list), our main course was excellent (pork chops and the gnocchi carbonara), and our dessert was phenomenal (housemade caramel gelato and the zeppoli).
Great food and atmosphere! Really enjoyed the octopus!
Everything was great! Food and service were amazing. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars was there were lots of little fruit flies or regular flies buzzing around my table the whole time. We were seated 2 booths away from an open window. I love fresh air just as much as the next person, but if I’m spending $150 on a dinner for 2, I don’t want bugs flying around me during dinner. Still great a place though!
I love the Brussel sprouts salad - I get it every time we go there!
Overall it was a nice experience. Food was good but pasta portion was very small. The restaurant was lively and energetic but a bit load. Hard to hear the table conversations. Service was amazing
Three of us for kale salad and all three salads looked different. I had all cabbage in it. My other friend had mostly bell peppers and the other friend has barely veggies. Did someone forget to mix it well?
Drinks were great.
The food is tasty, but it is so loud in the restaurant I couldn't hear my husband who was sitting across the table from me.
I love Main Street Social! It’s best to plate share as you want to try all of the different options. It’s a fun place to go with a group.
Great service, great food, love the ambiance just make reservation time early because during rush of dinner it gets quite loud with conversations. I thought the polenta was amazing but the second time I tried the cauliflower polenta and it was even more amazing! Can’t go wrong with anything you order! Just delish!
Really good food and exceptional service. Grilled octopus is from a different Universe!
