Main Street Social
I love Main Street Social! It’s best to plate share as you want to try all of the different options. It’s a fun place to go with a group.
Great service, great food, love the ambiance just make reservation time early because during rush of dinner it gets quite loud with conversations. I thought the polenta was amazing but the second time I tried the cauliflower polenta and it was even more amazing! Can’t go wrong with anything you order! Just delish!
Really good food and exceptional service. Grilled octopus is from a different Universe!
A pleasure to dine at Main Street Social
Food and drinks were delicious!
The patio is cozy and inviting.
The halibut was amazing.
Really enjoyed the Jazz Brunch. Will definitely go back again!
Live jazz at brunch is a new feature that will be offered once a month. The band was great and made our brunch a wonderful experience.
My girlfriend and I went for the first Jazz Brunch and it was wonderful; as always, the food was delicious, excellent service, wonderful venue and the music was just the right touch; I will go back for this event again. We sat at the high top in the window and windows were open and I felt as though I could have been in a quaint village out East.
The staff and service was outstanding. If sitting in the bar area and wish to have a conversation it's almost impossible due to the extremely high noise level. I would recommend sitting outside for ambiance and desire to converse with table partners.
We had a lovely dinner with friends at Main Street Social. Our overall ranking of 3 stars was due to a somewhat limited menu (although my skirt steak was amazing). We felt the loud atmosphere was challenging to hear each other for conversation. I'm happy to see it is doing well, but there was no good place to stand while waiting for our table. Otherwise, it is a fantastic, local, unique restaurant and well worth the visit!
Energetic restaurant; interesting menu, but too many entrees with pork or its cousin for this non-pork eater
loved the flat bread selection; highly recommend the mushroom-garlic
we found the food highly seasoned and quite tasty
presentation very pretty
patios are on the parking lot which doesn't appeal to me, but the main dining room has a "garage type" door that opened to let in fresh air
owner made my husband a decaf cappuccino that was not on the menu- very nice!!
The only reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars is because although everything tasted fabulous, it was quite sodium-rich. My eyelids were practically swollen shut by morning.
MSS has been the best new addition to the area dining scene this year
Father’s Day Brumch
This neighborhood restaurant has a great vibe and very good food. We liked that the owner, Duke, visited the tables and spoke with his customers. Nice personal touch. He has a very nice but small wine selection, including his own which is quite nice.
Went there with my sister for a fun b-day dinner. The place is very cute , but sooo loud! We sat at a table for 2 & my sister had to move her chair out of the way when the wait staff brought another table their meal. We ordered the burratta appetizer, which was amazing ! However it came with our meal , which we thought was odd. We ordered a flatbread & side of Brussels sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were so burned they tasted very bitter. The flatbread - ok. The waitress was nice but seemed very busy & never checked on us or asked to refill our wine.
I might go back maybe as an afternoon wine & appetizer, but with so many other choices I doubt it
Excellent restaurant! Food was incredible, the cocktails are amazing and unique. Great selection of cheeses, interesting appetizers, and healthy options. The brussel sprout salad was phenomenal! Oak street cocktail to die for. It's nice to go somewhere where you can get an excellent craft cocktail, a healthy dinner option, and unique selections for appetizers.
Polenta fries are amazing! All the good was great and our server Cesar was very attentive and friendly! Fun place! I will be back!
The food was beyond amazing. The ravioli was the best I’ve ever had. But the noise level was very loud and with the windows open it was too chilly. I saw a woman at the next table ask that they be closed but it didn’t happen.
Not sure how a restaurant can be that far into the weeds on a Saturday night and survive. The hostess staff seemed overwhemled by the time we got there. People where standing any place that they could and twice because people were standing in the dining room waiting to be seated they accidently turned off the lights in the dining room . The server was nice and helpful. The food was ok and arrived luke warm and not worth the price. But the must disappointing thing about the entire evening was the noise level. We were sitting at the smallest four top in the world (infact my friend had to check his sport coat because there was not enough room for it and two adults in the booth.) we struggeld to hear each other. When you plan an evening out with friends and family you have an expectation to be able to communincate with each other. The decor was trendy and the exposed brick played into that but if you can't hear what some across from you said while they are screaming at you does not make it worth it. I wont go back. There are millions of great places in Chicagoland this was not one I would recommend.
Great host and great food!
Everything here is wonderful - the service, food, drinks, etc. I try something different every time I come here and have not had a bad meal yet; it’s hard to find a place that does everything so good. And I LOVE that a restaurant in downtown Libertyville does valet parking! Keep it up, Main Street Social!
Sat outside - very relaxing
Great food - we recommend the sprout salad
We have been before and each time has been wonderful. This time, however, was super noisy and I could barely hear our friends across the table. This won’t keep me from coming back but it will keep me from going at a busy time.
My absolute favorite spot in Libertyville! The food is excellent! The brick roasted chicken, flatbreads, and salads are awesome. I also recommend the short rib bolognese served over cavatelli. You definitely won’t regret ordering that. My go-to picks are the Berkshire meatball (that thing is like crack!!) served with burrata and fresh basil and the crispy Brussels sprouts salad, a delightful, crunchy mix of all sorts of veggies, which is even good the next day for leftovers! I always pair those with a glass (or bottle - you can cork and take the leftover wine too!) of Cooper and Thief, a jammy red blend that was aged in Bourbon barrels! (At 17% alcohol, a glass or two will do ya just fine!!!) The ambiance is chic and urban, yet super comfortable. Service is always great.
I love this restaurant! They keep adding to their menu and the choices keep getting better and better! They also do great advertising on Facebook, so I always know when they have a special event going on! Will visit again every time i am back in town!
This was my third visit to Main Street Social and it does not disappoint. Great service, Great food and Great Atmosphere each and everytime.
A place not to be missed.
Meatball salad and flat bread all good
Pork chop no flavor and cavatelli uninspired
Lava cake good
Work on the pork chop please
Chopped salad is a MUST!
we really enjoyed our dinner - great ingredients, thoughtful dishes - excellent service
The food was good but the portions were kind of small for the price.
The service was good? However, it’s was so loud and tables were very close to each other, our group couldn’t hear each other.
We had to scream at each other to hear.
Great service, great food, a little pricey.
There have been some changes to how the happy hour specials work. You used to be able to enjoy the half-price flatbreads and oysters anywhere in the restaurant, now it is only available in the bar. Had we known that we would have sat in the bar, however it was a beautiful evening and it was nice to be able to eat outside. We were also charged a $5 upcharge to have no carb side option. The food was good, as usual, it just seemed like there was a new charge or twist to everything from the last time we were there, which wasn't that long ago.
This was our second time there and we tried some appetizers and everything was delicious. I had the burger again because it’s one of the best I’ve ever ate.
Service is good too .
Another great spot in Libertyville!
Food is excellent. Just wish the noise level could be quieter, it's extremely loud. One really has to talk loudly to others at the table.
We were seated quickly and we were given time to make up our minds about appetizers and drinks. Service was excellent and our waiter gave helpful suggestions. The food was delicious from start to finish. We even had room for dessert which was very tasty.
The food is good however the service and noise level are issues. We have eaten here several times and do like the food. Each time the service has been just ok and the noise level on the weekends is quite loud. For the money there are better options in the area.
What a fabulous dining experience. Great ambience—very vibrant and lively! Our waiter was superb!! Was able to offer many options for meal sharing and house favorites. The food was delicious. Has the brussel sprout salad which was tasty and fresh. The flatbread was excellent and easy to share. It was a friend’s birthday and they brought a birthday gelato to the table. All in all a great new find!!! We will be back!!
