About this restaurant

Romantic
Good for special occasions
Innovative

Make Room For Truman, contemporary kitchen & bar, serving timeless American fare & a unique steak selection in a modern-vintage vibe. We believe in doing things the right way … which is often the long way. We use cooking techniques and methods that a lot of restaurants shy away from because they’re so time and labor intensive: slow roasting, rotisserie, house pickling and more. Enjoy fare familiar enough to make you comfortable with a twist you’ll come back for, no matter the occasion.

We arrived for our reservation and found a handwritten letter on the door saying that they closed yesterday due to a bankruptcy estate filing. I would have appreciated a notification to reservation holders. We loved MRFT and have been there many times. We are very sad to see it go and we feel sorry for the excellent staff.

Truman is great for a quick bite or a nice meal. Food and service are excellent. I really like the menu choices, and the unique variety they serve.

Came here on a recommendation from son and daughter in law. Also got negative from friends. Well I don't know what my friends ate...they're very picky. But the food was very good and reasonably priced. I had Kansas city steak, wife had filet. Service a bit slow, and it's noisy, but I'll be back...

We went with 3 other couples. We found the food to be good but a little pricey for what you got. The service was excellent.

Was super busy. Server was nice, but probably had too many tables. Should expand appetizer list. Food was ok. This restaurant would not make it downtown, but not many restaurants in the Park Ridge or Edison Park area, so probably will stay open. If you don't mind driving about 15 minutes away, go to BarTucci on Harlem/Belmont--it is downtown worthy and great food.

Our friendly and efficient waitress was a loud talker. I kinda dreaded her coming to the table. It was almost like a comedy routine. She was trying hard but needs to tone it down. And she really stumbled when I asked if I could substitute something for the pork rinds that came with my dish (They were bad it turns out... tasteless) . But everything else was real good (Chicken, ribs, fish, crab cakes, carrot cake and "The Truman". But if you like pork rinds don't get excited about these. The place is very well run which itself adds to a nice dining experience.
