Dined here with family on a recent Friday night. The bread and rice were good, and the staff seemed friendly enough, but the main dishes were fair at best. The chicken in the tikka masala was chewy and overcooked. The sauce was devoid of creaminess--like a tomato sauce instead--unlike any tikka masala I have ever eaten or made at home! My lamb vindaloo was not bad (very spicy--I asked for it that way!), but the chicken vindaloo that my companion ordered suffered from the same overcooked chicken issue. I'm going to keep looking for other Indian restaurants in this area--this one was disappointing.

A truly authentic experience that reminded me of the Indian restaurants in London. Really good food, lovely ambience and excellent value for money. Highly recommended!!

I had a hard time connecting with the food at Masala Grill. I've something of an Indian veteran, I've been to about 60 restaurants of this type in the US. The food was underwhelming, not flavorful, and lacked depth. The chicken mahkni was sweeter than some jams I've eaten - come to find out, they use a significant quantity of mango chutney as the base of their sauce. Who does this? The onion naan was undercooked (still dough in parts), the lemon pickle was actually something that looked like key lime pickle, and the papadam came out dripping with oil. I've never left more food behind, at a restaurant.

We were drawn here because of a discount that they no longer honored, but were surprised by the quality of the meal, and the freshness of the ingredients. If you're in a hurry though (we were not), say so; they are kind of laid back about service. Will definitely return.

Very good Indian food in basic but nice setting. Bollywood videos playing on TV. Service was pleasant and the food was a notch above the typical. Very close to Barclay Center and we ate there before an event and they could accommodate getting us in and out in time.

Pretty straightforward Indian food. It's BYOB and just a block from St Gambrinis beer shop so an ideal spot if you want some spicy food and great beer.

Wanted to check out the Boerum Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn and chose Masala Grill as a neighborhood restaurant. So glad we did. The food was some of the best Indian cuisine we've ever had (and we've eaten at a LOT of Indian restaurants). Really scrumptious and well presented. And the bill was -- wow, so LOW! Only gripe was that, even though it was a very hot day, their air conditioning was turned up so high, we froze through the meal. It felt good to get out into the unbearable humidity again!

Tasteless food. extremely bland, like in hospital. Quantity is also less per serving. Very very lazy service, more focus is on delivery rather then customers sitting inside the restaurant.
