Masons restaurant bar
We know it’s easy to be bamboozled by flowery language on restaurant menus. Therefore we’ve deliberately kept our menu simple with the names of traditional British dishes that you’ll immediately recognise. We then expect our experienced waiting staff to do the rest – giving you all the details of the locally sourced ingredients that make up the day’s dishes – to help you make your choices.
A NOD TO THE FREEMASONS’ HISTORY OF OUR ICONIC BUILDING
Just as the Masons’ name references the building’s unique history, the food at Masons also nods to some of Britain’s most traditional and best loved dishes. All ingredients on our a la carte grill menu are carefully sourced from across the British Isles, including Goosnargh Chicken from Norfolk and Dukesmoor Fillet/Carpaccio from Northumbria.
Had a lamb Sunday roast - it was scrumptious. Followed by sticky toffee sundae. Will come again
Highly recommended, excellent quality and service.
Had a confidential coupon so only had food off the a la carte which at full price would have been a bit pricey. Staff were friendly and attentive. My steak was nice and tender but the accompanying potatoes were a bit on the warm side.
Impressive surroundings. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food delicious. Feel priced a little on the high side hence the four stars for value. Enjoyed whole experience.
Went for anniversary dinner, got seated in a cosy little booth! Service was amazing, had the gin trolley experience and the lady was very knowledgeable about the different gins.
Food was amazing! Great evening, would definitely recommend and if I’m back in the area will be back.
Beautiful restaurant and buildings. Food very good and service excellent. My only negative comment would be the noise level coming from the bar from people just coming in for a drink and not dining.
Great experience and excellent food
What a fab restaurant. Great location, lovely decor and great menu. Good choice of food, great offers, good priced wine. Staff were friendly helpful and courteous. I had the beef wellington which was delicious followed by marmalade bread and butter pudding, divine. My husband had turbot which was cooked and served beautifully. Will definitely be back and recommending to all our friends
Fabulous food in lovely surroundings with super service
We visited for Sunday lunch. There was a good choice on the menu. Food was delicious and the service was very good. Had a lovely leisurely lunch
Lovely staff and good service. The interior decor is à la mode. The food is well enough executed but there is nothing to really return for.. nothing all that exciting... No real point of difference. The menu was missing a few items. The beef wellington had a doughy and undercooked bottom, but was otherwise delicious. The chocolate tarte had an issue with its casing, tasted as if it had be sat out. It was an underwhelming experience, but inoffensive. I probably won't be back.
Lovely food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would recommended
Very good service.
This was a Valentines meal out so when a special night the food was very slow but we were given free drinks for this delay. Once the food arrived after about 35 minutes I had to complain as my girlfriends meal was cold so was reheated. I would say the food service very poor as other had all so complained. One saving grace for the restaurant is the waitress was and manager were extremely apologetic and had given us both our meals for free so happy about this a shame the kitchen let the staff and restaurant down.
Beautiful setting lovely food and good value. Staff were attentive without being annoying, would recommend
Great service. Food presentation beautiful. I can recommend the sausage roll starter
A lovely meal with excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
Really enjoyable meal, excellent food and service
The food was good and, with a Manchester Confidential voucher, was reasonable. However, the vegetarian options are limited and the tart was very dry - would have been better with a sauce. We also had a long wait for dessert, which isn't ideal at lunchtime.
Very nice excellent service but Over priced and service charge is added
Amazing meal for my boyfriends birthday treat. All the staff were brilliant, the lady who greeted us was very warm and welcoming. Waitresses and and waiters were very attentive. The meal was amazing. Will definitely be coming back.
Beautiful venue with gorgeous food and excellent staff
The chateaubriand was outstanding!! As was everything else we had. I love the decor and atmosphere of the place, and will definitely visit again.
Great food, fantastic service
Really delicious food, wonderful service and stylish interior. Smoked duck starter, Soup, Hake, Beef Wellington and the Pear cheesecake all fantastic.
Lovely food and great service, ideal for a meal with my girlfriend on her birthday. The gin trolley is a nice touch.
Lovely place would highly recommend this pitch
Service, food and ambiance are fantastic
Yes but I think the menu is over priced so this would put me off also our waitress was nice didn't do anything wrong but lacked something and didn't ask at any point how was our food
I had the hake for main and it was a bit too well done, making the fillet too dry. Other than that overall was quite good.
Delicious food. Beef Wellington was amazing ! Service very good and staff very friendly. Elegant decor , in a beautiful building and a great ambience. Highly recommended.
Great food to go along with the attentive staff , ambience and interesting building.
A real treat.
Fantastic venue, beautiful building and amazing service.
Lovely ambiance, and 5 star service, we were taking advantage of the January offer so very good value, looking forward to visiting again
Great food and accommodating staff!
We shared the chateubriand for two, gorgeous. Malbec very nice. Staff lovely.
Surprised to be charged for a little extra gravy. Disappointed with the bitter chocolate orange tart.
No starters, one dessert, one bottle of red, bill just under £100.
The overall experience was great. Kind, welcoming staff always on hand to help out if anything was required. Food was excellent and we were sat in a quiet individual booth. The ambience was lovely with the restaurant busy yet still not too noisy.
I ate using the 50% off food January offer, so take value scoring with that in mind.
Beef Wellington was amazing.
Met for brunch with friends. Was given a lovely booth so we could chat easily to each other. Staff very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the full English breakfast with tea, but went on to have delicious belinni’s.
Relaxing and comfortable ambience as we took our time. Didn’t feel rushed at all. Will certainly return again soon
