Mejico Grill and Tequila Lounge
This classic mexican themed Resturant and Tavern will provide a refreshing new stop along your scenic travels through the canyons of Malibu.
Mejico Grill & Tequila Lounge looks to bring back the beauty of one of Agoura's most historic locations built over 70 years ago.
Authentic delicious Oaxacan cuisine-- mole chicken is amazing, the fresh fruit margaritas are by far the best in town. What a truly hidden gem in the neighborhood!
The food is exceptional and margaritas are made just right not salty and excellent mix.
My favorite mex restaurant - food wise and price wise.
Mejico Grill and Tequila Lounge was a great new find for us. We went to celebrate our friend's birthday with a party of eight for dinner and drinks. The margaritas were excellent! We each tried a different type of drink and everyone enjoyed them. The Sopa de Mariscos was AMAZING! Everyone enjoyed their meals and our waitress, Maria, was very attentive. Thanks Mejico Grill for a great night!!
Excellent food and service.
I generally don't write reviews but this restaurant needs to pick up its game. We were there new years eve and the restaurant very solemn, service was slow and they were confused. No music when we were there which could have really helped. It felt like they did not want to spend the money to make their restaurant special, it was basic like being at a diner or an IHOP. Great location and good potential to make this place a great restaurant but they need management help 101.
good place for a group meal. Good MExican food, good cocktails, very nice wait staff.
Great margaritas, chile relleno was spectacular but chicken tacos were dry. Service staff is amazing.
I think we had every server in the place waiting on us. Amazing food, service, ambiance. Highly recommend. We dine here at least once a month if not more.
Best restaurant in the area!
Really personal attentive service from the owner. Food was fresh and authentic. We will definitely come back
Went for a birthday lunch for a colleague. Food looked great and tasted great. Server was knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients used which was helpful. Very pleased with the service. Will be going back to try all the moles for sure.
Authentic food, great ambience and friendly service. I felt it was reasonably priced. I will be back
Beautiful ambiance with variety of settings, nice music. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Only complaint is food took too long to arrive! and although service was good & friendly, we had to wait a bit for waitress to arrive to our table.
Overall it was a nice experience. I do recommend this place
Service was good and drinks were good. Food was enjoyable
The food was not seasoned, and the drinks were nothing special. It is a strange place- mediocre Mexican food on one side and a salsa class next door. We went next door after our meal to get a drink and watch the dancing, but after sitting there for 20 minutes no one came to take a drink order so we left. Not quite sure why someone would have opened another Mexican restaurant in this location given that there are two successful Mexican restaurants within spitting distance.
I found this restaurant through an Internet search. Everything was above and beyond my expectations. The wait staff was charming and efficient and enthusiastic. The food was fabulous. We sat in the outside dining on a warm day and it was just also very pleasant. I will be back again!
We looked at reviews before making reservations, which looked promising? But shortly after arriving, we felt we hadn't made the right choice? Restaurant was dead on Sunday night, next door another Mexican restaurant was packed!
We ordered an appetizer to start, it never came. When server brought our entrees (which took awhile) we reminded him of appetizer & to please cancel, we no longer wanted after waiting so long. He responded oh its almost ready.. Didn't apologize for not getting it sooner. Prices are high & Didn't match food quality or service. It's too bad wanted it to be better experience!
I made reservations on Father’s Day for my dad and we absolutely loved the atmosphere. The decor was nice and it was quiet. Also- service was excellent!! Our food came out so quickly and our waiter kept checking in on us to see if we were okay. It was my first time here and I will be coming back!
We had a great time. Great food, awesome table by the dance floor and an extremely nice bartender and waitress.
We had the opportunity to try their tequila flight which was an awesome way to have my husband pick a new tequila he would like for our home bar.
We will definitely go back.
We enjoyed everything about this place, food, service, atmosphere, easy parking, etc.
Great place and really good food. Nice booths and outdoor patio seating. Carlos took great care of us and was very accommodating for my wife's Gluten allergy. The Oaxacan menu items are things you don't see in many Mexican food restaurants and they are VERY good (try the house-made corn tortillas). The Tequila selection is impressive and full of hard to find selections. I would highly recommend Mejico Grill and Tequila Lounge
Service incredibly slow and very few patrons at 5:30pm. Food average. Expensive for amount you get. Appetizer came at same time as salad and soup. Should have been first. Didn't finish those b4 entrees came. Timing needs improvement.
We love this restaurant. They go out of their way to please us, specially our 7 year old. The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding.
I read other reviews before going and the bad ones were dead on. The chips tasted stale, the guacamole was not all that great. The skinny margarita was lacking much tequila. The fish tacos were dry and overcooked.
The shrimp taco was okay and my burrito was decent. The red sauce over it was tangy and delicious. The waiter did not seem to know what he was doing and was chit chatting at another table for 20 minutes while we waited to have our water classes refilled.
All in all a C-. With two other Mexican restaurants within walking distance of Mejico, we will not be returning.
Great place! The service was impeccable, food was good and well presented. The ambiance beautiful and relaxing, lots of different environments from private and romantic to energetic. Live Music also later in the evening. Will definitely go back and highly recommend it .
This was our 3rd dinner at Mejico. I ordered the Tlayuda twice. Yummy. Have taken guests two times. Vegetarian friend did not care for chili reino but we love everything else about the place.Staff friendly and helpful. Chipotle salad dressing is a zinger.
Ambiance is pretty
Food was just ok
We each had a dinner salad (meh) and split an entree of Carnitas
Carnitas were not chopped or sliced which was strange
Total bill without alcohol or dessert was 44.00 A bit pricey for just ok food
I feel the food was basic and not even that tasty. The chips and salsa were the best thing about the food. The standard skinny Margarita was good but not much tequila, I think. My daughter had the grilled shrimp and husband had salmon tacos. Both said fish was below par. Not planning to go back.
It was a Wednesday night, taco night. Waiter never mentioned it. The salsa is very bland and lacking any flavor what so ever. The guac was delicious. We had the COCHINITA PIBIL taco, which was tender and moist but had an over wheeling taste of warmed over pork. There are so many more authentic Mexican's restaurants that I won't go back here.
I really like this place! great ambiance, very good service, and really some excellent dishes! Their mole sauce is some of the best I've had!
I would and I have recommended to a friend. Service was friendly and helpful. Our server was very busy and could have used some help but she never let it affect her. Food was very good
I was very impressed with this fairly new restaurant! Its a beautiful space, nice warm ambiance, nicely lit. We were there on a Thursday night, and it was very quiet...I would like to get the word out about this place.
It's a very pleasant experience! We had excellent service. Drinks were good. Food very good! I had the chicken with mole sauce, and it was a really good mole. Every one of us was happy with our meal.
Give it a try!!
Food was good, would have liked the salsa to have more flavor.
The Margheritas were excellent.
All around, a nice experience and staff was wonderful.
We enjoyed the evening. We were not rushed.
My salmon salad was delicious. Friends dinner was s but too spicy!
Food was just okay. The fish was overcooked and had to be sent back, which they gladly substituted. The enchilada sauce tasted like marinara. Service was very good and so were the Margaritas. We would go back for drinks and appetizers, but probably not dinner.
Nothing to rave about. Spouse said he actually didn’t like it and he never complains about food. Said rice too salty and tortillas had strange gasoline taste.
This was the first time we had been to Mejico Grill and Tequila Lounge. We actually went to hear Urban Soul play, awesome band by the way, unfortunately they got rained out but looking forward to hearing them play here again. We sat in the restaurant which was beautifully decorated and had a very nice dinner with friends. We all enjoyed our food! Then we went to the bar for drinks. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our friends enjoyed the place as well. We will definitely be back!
Even though they took my reservation they were closed when we arrived
Cute place with great service but food was not great.
