The Fort Point neighborhood’s urban cityscape, with its blend of historic brick buildings and sleek design statements, is the perfect setting for Menton, Chef Barbara Lynch's modern interpretation of fine dining.

With beautifully executed cuisine, an unparalleled wine program, warm hospitality, and a glamorous setting, Menton seeks to excite, inspire, and transport guests. Pristine ingredients and refined technique are the basis for seasonally inspired menus. A six-seat bar, with additional seating for ten at tables along a banquette, features expertly crafted cocktails and beers from both near and far. A carefully curated wine list highlights small grower champagnes and rare vintages from lesser-known vineyards.

In addition to the dining room and bar, Menton boasts two private event spaces perfect for gathering with colleagues, friends, or family.

One of the most fun and exciting meals I’ve ever had - the plates are all crafted beautifully and the tasting menu has a broad range of flavors that even picky eaters will be open to trying. Came for a special occasion and Menton did not disappoint

This restaurant was perfect for our anniversary. The food was exceptional and the service was so efficient and attentive that we were blown away! The prix fix is a great option and I added the lamb from the tasting menu. The food was so good one dish was better than the next. This is an ideal spot for a special occasion!

Bite sized portions of food. Service was almost not existent (we often sat with empty drink glasses and couldn’t find anyone to order new drinks). Very over priced for food and beverage. Buyer beware of the bisque. There’s a dollop of bisque that you can barely glaze over the rest of the ingredients.

Overcomplicated, very slow service; not a true fine dining experience. Recipes should stick to basics rather than trying to overcomplicate the dishes, which has the ultimate effect of confusing the palate and creating sub-par combinations. It took us 3+ hours to go through the ‘chefs menu’, which slowly decayed until the end. All in all, a sad and disappointing experience.

MentonResponded 7 days agoLorvytra, I am sorry to learn that you didn't care for your experience at Menton. Sometimes less is more. And by that I mean, less salt! A lot of courses came over salted and it just ruined the course. I was definitely so disappointed over the A5 Wagyu that was so salty it was almost inedible. Very unfortunate.

MentonResponded on August 2, 2022Thank you for the note! Sorry to hear that some courses were over seasoned to your liking. We're happy to see that you felt the rest of the experience was 5 stars and look forward to hosting you again.

I made a reservation to eat by myself, celebrating a big milestone for me, and I felt so cherished and celebrated by all the staff-- from the hostess to the dining room team to the chef. The food was incredible and they treated me like a princess all night, treating me to special surprises and just being incredibly kind. I hope I will be able to come back :)

We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The setting was lovely and the wait staff was outstanding, especially JP! We were disappointed that there wasn’t any al a carte menu but pleased overall with the Prix Fixe menu. Although the Wagyu Beef was tender and tasty, I would have liked a bit less salt sprinkled on it. The presentation was superb. We very much enjoyed our experience at Menton and hope you resume a valet service soon.

We celebrated a special anniversary at Menton. We decided on the chef’s tasting. Some of the dishes were very good such as the Wagyu beef tartare toast. Some dishes did not hit the mark such as the spaghetti chittara . This dish was incongruent with the rest of the menu both in quantity and the dish itself did not pair well with the truffle (supplement) . The ‘nduja and truffles would have overpowered each other - however, the truffles lacked all taste. Several sauces separated and should have been whisked prior to serving to avoid glops of oil. Most of all, we were disappointed in the service. We met with the main waiter at the beginning of the 3 hour service to take our orders. After, other than asking about drink refills, we did not have the pleasure of interacting with him until the end of the meal. Assistants brought out all the dishes to us . They lacked energy and sometimes barely explained the dishes set in front of us. I mentioned an aversion to pheasant to the waiter at the beginning of the meal and he asked if I was amenable to crudo instead which I agreed to. What was brought out was a pork belly dish. Luckily I was ok with pork belly but it was not what I expected. Later, the waiter came to ask if there was anything else we needed. I said no. He then came with the check. The problem is we did not receive our desserts yet. He apologized profusely and in all fairness tried to correct the situation by removing a round of drinks from the bill. However, the situation only proved to highlight the lack of attention and cohesiveness to the service as it was surprising he was unaware what course we were on,did not ensure we received anything special for our anniversary, etc. Eventually, the dessert included a written anniversary message. The following evening we enjoyed an amazing dinner with unpretentious, friendly service at SAGA home in NYC. The service at EMP,PerSe, Blue Hill,Jungsik, Daniel, etc is what made those dinners memorable to us.

We had a reservation for 2 for our anniversary - the service was incredible, everyone told us happy anniversary and everyone wanted to make sure we were having a great time. Every server we had was knowledgeable about the menu and very kind. Our waters and drinks were consistently being filled and there was always someone around if we needed anything. We ate from the chef's tasting and every course came out looking and tasting delicious. The menu was filled with a wide arrangement of delicious foods that were not what my partner and I would normally order - perfect for a tasting menu. When my partner didn't like one of the courses, he was offered by the manager a replacement course. When dessert came out, each of our plates said "happy anniversary". Every piece of the night's experience was incredibly thoughtful and handled with care. The atmosphere from the lighting and interior design was romantic and the amount of people there made it feel lively, although my partner and I still felt like we had our own space in the restaurant. I would highly recommend Menton for any occasion.

We were really looking forward to this experience, and the food was good if a bit elaborate, the pastry chef was outstanding, but we were a little disappointed by some aspects of the experience, and I think our host had a lot to do with it. We spoke to the host about a nut allergy we had, but were served nuts (probably because he handed us off to someone else, who fixed it one time that we know of, but as there was an allergic reaction, they didn't catch everything). Fortunately, the reaction was mild. We were celebrating a birthday and requested champagne when we arrived, which seemed to really put the host off. He then recommended we not do the wine tasting that came with the meal (that would have been 8 glasses) to one with 4 glasses; but in actuality was 3, as we were served a white and a red after the sparkling. It seemed like it was about making life easy for the host, and that was disappointing. He also continued to fill one of our glasses repeatedly and not the other, which brings us to demeanor. The host was... arrogant and dismissive and very much treated us as though we were lucky to be in his presence. We recently had a fantastic experience in Carmel-by-the-Sea that we were initially trying to compare to this one. In the end, there was no comparison. The rest of the staff was lovely, and the chef has an interesting perspective, but we will not return.

Was really disappointed in our dinner. I have Celiac disease and have eaten at top restaurants in the US and Paris and had wonderful dinners. It never occurred to me that I would have an issue in Boston. Our waiter did not know how to deal with the issue appropriately. When I asked what the chef could do and what I could eat he would just say “the chef will modify and it will be fine”. Except it wasn’t fine. An amuse bouche was served to our table without any explanation. I asked our server what it was and he said “an amuse bouche” and then proceeded to explain to me the definition of an amuse bouche. Obviously, I was asking what the dish contained before putting it in my mouth! The dinner was for our anniversary and spending the night on the toilet was not in my plans. We decided to do the prix fixe as I was more comfortable that the options there would work for GF but there was one thing that caught my eye - a duck option for an extra $180 dollars. It was served with a poached pear, some vegetable and croquettes and a soufflé- two items that are not naturally gluten free. When I asked our server said that the chef would modify. But the chef did not modify. The two sides came out not gluten free. I never would have paid $180 to have a significant portion of the dish be something that I could not consume. Finally, there were no desserts that were gluten free on the menu. I was served a poached pear as my dessert option with mulled wine sorbet and it was terrible. And the duck was also served with basically the same thing, but tastier. If this is a top restaurant in Boston, Boston has a long way to go.

Very disappointed in our experience at Menton. We have done many tasting menus, at many different restaurants, both Michelin starred and local favorites, so we are very familiar with the concept and how to execute it well. Unfortunately, we did not have a good evening at Menton. The waiter’s section was too large resulting in inattentive service, which should never happen at this level of restaurant. The timing of the courses was haphazard, arriving at VERY irregular intervals. The food itself did not hit, many dishes being under spiced or having a fusion that did not combine well, the odd amuse bouche giving us an unwelcome foretaste of the evening to come. After the meal I let the manager know our experience and his response was as uninspiring as the meal, apologizing for the dinner but not offering to try and make it right in anyway.

I’ve thought hard about what I think about Menton. The food was very good but not outstanding, the staff were very pleasant but not remarkable, the experience was very pleasant but not memorable. Every aspect was very good but not outstanding, contributing to an overall pleasant meal but not one I will particularly remember or rush to repeat. They were very good at managing my wife’s need for gluten-free food but they had a black mark for not being able to provide a gluten free soufflé. At this cost and with the pretensions they have, the meal just wasn’t up to what I consider to be Michelin standard dining ( which I presume they aspire to even though Michelin don’t cover Boston). Overall OK but expensive but not top bracket.

We came for our 17th wedding anniversary. Service was wonderful. I was surprised at the food in the prix fixe menu. It was well prepared but had not much special to it. I actually thought everything was “interesting” or “well prepared” but nothing made me say that was great ceviche (crudo) or best sturgeon preparation ever. The pasta with the truffle mushrooms was the best flavored dish overall. But the presentation seemed haphazard given how everything else came. There was not enough thought to the colors on the plate. The rhubarb dish was lovely … a soft, but lively dessert that didn’t overpower. But the rhubarb wrapping was tough to chew - as is all rhubarb! The meat-based dishes were very much to my wife’s liking. What I would have wanted was a vegetable-centric (or at least, non-meat centric) preparations that changed the way we interact with food. Carpaccio and Wagyu beef are just more of the same capitalist-planet killing food stuffs. The various preparations of peas, for example, were excellent. The pasta dish had them at multiple textures. I’d like to see more adventure in the category of vegetables

MentonResponded on July 3, 2022Ronak, Thank you very much for your review. We appreciate all feedback, both positive and constructive. I believe the next time you join us you might be interested in trying our Vegetarian Prix-Fixe or Tasting menu rather than the standard, as you will find Chef and his team focuses exclusively on the versatility of meat-free products. This restaurant was recommended by the guide magazine and once in Boston, we would like to try it. The experience was not good at all, the "menu degustation" 9 dishes was extremely disappointed, I do not remember any restaurant we've ever been to, that even the bread was not good. It's pricey and I definitely do not recommend it.

When the food is so bad you walk out in the middle a $400 tasting menu dinner, (which I've never done in my life), and the bread is the best thing on the menu, there is little more to say. We've traveled the world extensively and we were thoroughly looking forward to this dinner. However, as another recent diner from London eloquently explained, it was highly offensive to have a $450 bill. Had I known, we'd be lighting $500 on fire and throwing it out the window, I'd have donated it to charity.

Extremely disappointing. Had the chef's tasting menu expecting an enhanced experience but sadly revealed very poor aptitude for flavour combination. Lamb was unpleasantly raw, foie gras inedible, lobster tough, foamy clam cold and lacking, two dishes tasted of grass, the squid stuffed with blood sausage just wrong. Most offensive was the price of $470 for 2 people with 1 drink each. Service was fine but well-meaning waiters seemed timid and under the spell of 'chef'. The largest gap between expectation and reality I have ever had. Searching for positives, nougat dessert was ok, tables were large and not too close, venue was nice enough for a ground floor. Overall don't be tempted and go elsewhere.

The chefs tasting menu was delicious; great presentation. My espresso martini was especially well-made.

I went to number 9 park last year for my anniversary and it was outstanding. We tried Menton this year and it was underwhelming. Everything was good, but nothing special, especially for $200 a person.

Took my wife here for her birthday and Menton was a great choice. The food was out of this world and service to match. What I liked best is that the staff was always there when we needed it and only that. They let us have a great night and dinner.

Great service from the plate bringers to the utensil wallah. Sommelier was helpful and pleasant working within our budget. Totally recommend the Fox cocktail. We had the prix fixe, sharing each item on the menu. The 1st course crudo and carpaccio were mild. The 2nd course was probably our favourite with the pork belly and the sopressini options. The 3rd course with the sturgeon was enjoyable. Although the wagyu was less wagyu than expected, it was still enjoyable but not melt in your mouth. The rhubarb dessert was not as rhubarby as we would have liked but the chocolate soufflé was wonderful. Some rolls delivered before course 1 and between courses 2 and 3. An amuse bouche to start (rooibos merengue) and a trio of little sweets at the end were a nice addition. A bit startled at the cost of the in-house filtered still water lol but overall we enjoyed the experience with the service and the pacing and the variety of flavors and textures. And would definitely return.
