The venue was nice could not fault it however the minute we sat down we were told we only had two hours as it was booked out later for Valentines night. We already knew this from the booking and we had no intention of hanging around, we’d been at a matinee show at Bord Gais so our booking was for 6pm and the restaurant was empty. We were pretty much rushed out of the place, no sooner than putting the last forkful of each course In your mouth someone was taking the plate from under you. We had 3 courses in 35 mins we were barely even given time to digest. There’s efficiency but then there’s over zealousness - we certainly didn’t feel comfortable as a result and as a paying guest for our valentines meal. Feeling was just wanted to turn the table over as quick as possible and get us out the door.

Very pleasant experience dining there, there was a substantial wait for drinks despite having less than 10 tables. Ordered a cocktail when I ordered food and the food came before the cocktail, which was also quite a wait as well. I also ordered a starter and a main and they were both served together I’m not sure why? Both of these things didn’t really bother me but I can imagine it affecting someone else more. Service by I believe a waitress named Isabelle was delightful and had an amazing demeanour. Maybe I could’ve been checked on during my meal to make sure the food was okay may have been my only grievance.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a table booked for 6.45, arrived on time and ordered our food immediately as we were heading to a gig later. The food didn't arrive until 7.25 which I considered quite slow; it was a burger & chips and pizza for my son. We had to wolf down our food and leave the rest to go to the gig. The food we did eat was lovely.

Attentive staff, super people watching spot right at the window. We had a wonderful dinner and drinks here. Location is so handy, we walked less than 10 minutes to Bord Gais theatre for a show straight after dinner. Will be returning! Thank you.

FAQs

Yes, MossCo can be a lovely casual date-night spot. Guests praise the relaxed, warm atmosphere, people-watching window seats and tasty cocktails, and the heated outdoor terrace is great for an evening out. Service can be inconsistent on very busy nights (theatre or special occasions), so consider an early booking or letting staff know it’s a special night for a smoother experience.

Portions are typical for casual dining, mains like the 8oz sirloin, burgers and pizzas are substantial, and there are shareable options (platters and starters) for groups. Many guests found the food satisfying and filling, though experiences vary by dish and some guests reported inconsistent plating/timing during busy shifts.

MossCo is open daily from 12:30 to 21:30. If you’re planning a visit on a holiday or for a special event, it’s a good idea to call ahead to confirm.

Family-friendly: yes, guests often bring families, teens and celebrate birthdays here. Accessibility details aren’t stated publicly, so if you need accessible seating or accommodations, call ahead and the team can advise and help arrange suitable seating.

Aim for early evenings or weekday lunches if you prefer a quieter visit. MossCo is popular around theatre showtimes and special nights (e.g., Valentine’s), when guests reported being rushed or experiencing longer waits, booking ahead for show nights is recommended.

MossCo has a relaxed, casual-dining vibe with a lively atmosphere, guests describe it as warm, friendly and a good spot for people-watching. Staff are often praised as attentive and welcoming, though service can be less consistent during very busy evenings.

Business casual is the stated dress code. Guests tend to dress smart-casual for dinners and theatre nights, matching the relaxed yet polished atmosphere.

The restaurant’s standard card/cash options aren’t listed, but there are clear group-billing policies: a discretionary 10% service charge applies for parties of 8 or more, and they cannot process individual payments on group bills for parties of 4 or more. For split bills or specific payment methods, call ahead to confirm.

Busiest: early evenings, weekend nights and performances at nearby theatres (guest reports of rushed service on Valentine’s and show nights). Quietest: weekday lunches and earlier dinner times tend to be calmer. Booking ahead is wise for weekend and show nights.

Weekdays, particularly lunchtime or early dinners, are generally quieter and more relaxed. Weekends and nights with nearby theatre shows are busier and can be lively, good for atmosphere but expect a faster pace and possible waits.

The restaurant lists daily opening hours (12:30–21:30), which suggests it operates every day, but public-holiday opening can vary; call ahead to confirm hours for specific holidays or special dates.

Yes, MossCo has a heated outdoor terrace where guests can dine. It’s promoted for terrace bites and outdoor dining, making it a good option in cooler weather.
