Burger was good. My wife’s pasta was really bad but the waiter graciously replaced it with chicken parm which was much better.

I made a reservation for this past Sunday evening and showed up and the restaurant was open but completely empty, including employees. Yelled around and someone came out and said they were closed. The following day, I called and left a voice mail asking if they were still in business and no one returned my call.

I found them on Groupon. With the price tag, I thought it had to be outstanding in terms of the quality and specialty of the food. However, the food were not surprising and the portion was disappointing. The service are great. The view is good, too. But I wouldn't pay that much for their food if it is not for the Groupon.

We first discovered Mr. G’s when it was on Balboa Island. The pasta is some of the best I’ve ever had! I especially love the Caccio e Peppe. The salads are also wonderful. And several times Mr. G himself has come out to talk with diners.

We went and they told us the kitchen was closed. Not a satisfactory experience since we drove 20 minutes to get there and had a reservation on open table. WON’T BE GOING BACK
