    Excellent menu for those of us who don't want a ton of pig in every...single... bite. There is a very good balance of sweet and savor available on the menu. The chef's creations are presented nicely. We enjoyed the broccolini appetizer, as well as the smoked ahi and toast, along with the sashimi sampler with 7 super-fresh slivers of fish. The "omelette" in a bowl was especially interesting; this is what my spouse gets every other time we visit. This place is not for those who want an inexpensive dining experience. However, those who consider themselves "foodies" will likely enjoy a visit or two here. The service is usually pretty good. It can get rather loud... especially during weekday lunches; so try to reserve a booth (if you can). The wait staff is rather young and could use a tad bit more training. There appears to be a disconnect between what the service "could be" and why it actually "is." However, this is the case with many, if not most, of the restaurants on Oahu. Highly recommended.

    Subtle cocktail, kind staff, really tremendous, flavorful and detailed food. I loved the omelette with atsuage, as I love steamed egg. Partner got poke and fried chicken set and both were delicious, down to the pickles and grandma’s potato salad.

    The atmosphere was beautiful, modern and engaging as soon as you walked into the restaurant! Our server was very friendly and explained the menu very well! The food came in very good time and it was beyond delicious. It was creative and inventive. My husband was saying "we gotta come back!" repeatedly throughout dinner. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend!

    Dined on 8/16 and ginger chicken was bland and chewy. Hash brown toast was burnt. 12/6 ginger chicken was crispy, tender and delicious, seemed marinated which added flavor. cucumber and potato noodle salad were so tasty, not sour or too sweet. Miso poke made me want more and more after each bite, yummy.

    This was our first time dining here. Made a reservation the same day that worked out great. Food was good and cocktails as well. Reason for the four stars is that some of our dishes that should be hot were room temperature. Service was great however I believe wait staff should know more about food. One of our cold vegetables dishes was spoiled. When asked if it should taste fermented or have an effervescence he didn’t know. They apologized and took it off our bill and sent out a new one. We will definitely be going back.

    Our server Eric was excellent. He was accommodating, cheerful, and let us take our time in determining our order and helping with suggestions. The food was delicious we all enjoyed our lunches. I would definitely recommend.

    Chef’s culinary creations are amazing & delicious. I had the shrimp Benedict & loved it! My friend had the omelette w/ shrimp & spices. She was equally impressed. The side of fruit bowl was just the right accompaniment. Your staff was very helpful & patient, & very personable. Gotta go again soon!

    Nami Kaze lived up to the hype! Super friendly staff from the moment we walked in. We sat at the bar and they patiently explained everything before we ordered, then the food servers explained everything again when the food was delivered. My favorite was the roasted octopus!!

    We were seated at the small room oceanside. So much quieter and conducive to good conversation. And food was excellent. I loved the HW Shrimp waffle and my friend polished off the WHOLE People's choice. The Black Cod I had last time was also memorable. Keep up the great cooking!

    Finely nuanced fusion - every dish delightful. Kauai prawns (but more so!) Delicate chawan lobster that heightened the experience of the fresh lobster). And black cod so yummy. We loved all our shared side dishes and the deconstructed lemon meringue pie. We (the girls) loved our champagne cocktail! Locally owned with innovative local talent! They never disappoint

    From start to finish, the experience here was A+. Everyone was attentive and friendly. The food ~ as always ~ was yummy delish! We had the holiday Pork chops…tender moist and tasty!!! As well as all the side dishes (breadfruit - 2 ways, bok choy, oysters, mushroom rice). Will definitely go again!

    Food was amazing. Told the server to just order for us with the items that she thought was great. She did an amazing job. Food was on point and service awesome. My guests loved the food and was very happy to finally try Nami Kaze.

    We ordered the Japanese breakfast, aka teishoku, with salmon, and the People's Choice with ginger fried chicken. Als, we ordered peach and lemonade and Asato family ume sorbet for dessert. Delicious.

    We found this place on Yelp and the outside of the place looks worn down, but the inside is so upscale! The ambiance was immaculate. The service was great. The food was delicious! This was definitely a 5 star place in my book. It is on the little pricer side. Plus it’s good to know they have a breakfast menu and a dinner menu. So plan your meal accordingly!

    We did the thanksgiving prix fixe and it was outstanding. Service was attentive and welcoming, and the tables are well spaced in this airy dining room on the pier. It’s a bit off the main spots and as such it feels like a local secret. The menu is Japanese inspired regional bistro cuisine, for the thanksgiving men, the prime rib was juicy and tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the octopus with aji Amarillo was tender and grilled to crisp perfection at the same time. We requested the Cobb salad with a ginger dressing which was so bell balanced we hope that makes it onto the menu. Can’t wait to come back to HNL for this special restaurant

    True chef-driven unique signature restaurant. All dishes were amazing. Cocktails were excellent too. A destination place worth visiting. I understand the idea of choosing the location adjacent to a full scale fishing wharf and market with all associated smells, but the interior could have been a bit cozier. Request bar or booth seating.

    Nami Kaze remains one of my favorite restaurants for consistently great food and service. Chef/Owner Jason Peel does an incredible job with his menu and offerings of elevated local favorites. Fresh fish, bold flavors, lots of fun to eat here. 🤙🏼

    Absolutely incredible!!! This was one of the best meals we had on our trip to Oahu and Kauai. We were so impressed with the menu focusing on locally sourced, fresh, high quality ingredients and every item was perfectly balanced. The service was great, our server was awesome and very knowledgeable. We loved everything, but the prawns, pork belly, and bokchoy were definitely some highlights. Delicious!!!!

    We celebrated our 33rd Anniversary with dinner at Nami Kaze and it was a great dinner! The team really made it a special evening with great food and excellent service! It’s no wonder Nami Kaze ids one of our favorite places to dine!

    Four of us had lunch there. Surprisingly, all our food although being fried was not hot. It was like it was not freshly made, otherwise more stars would have been given. It’s nice that we get seated right away and food was fairly fast but could it be the food is cooked ahead of time and sitting in a warmer? I get that food is pricey but waffles, no one waffle folded in half and four fried shrimp is not worth the money I paid. Oh well, this is the second time I’ve been here, I dunno if it’s worth going back,

    Went for a dinner for two at the sushi counter. Ordering system is through your phone. Started with an Auld Fashioned. Solid and balanced whisky cocktail. Ordered nigiri sushi, ulu patatas bravas, pork belly, cold eggplant, and kanpachi. The worst thing I can say is the nigiri was OK, but everything else was great and would order again. Ended on an after dinner elixer from the bar which I suggest to anyone with even a passing interest in amaro. Pairs amazing with a dessert and coffee.

    Inventive, imaginative and delicious. Hawaiian twist on Japanese cuisine so a bit too sweet for traditionalists. Good sake and wine selection and fun cocktails.

    The very nice waitress explained the menu , especially the difference between what they call an omelette and what one might generally expect. The mushroom omelette was one of the best egg dishes I’ve ever eaten, rivaled only by the omelette I had in Paris. My friends both had the shrimp and waffle, which was equally extraordinary. To top it all off, they did not mind us sitting and talking story for three hours and still kept checking on us to make sure we were okay. Thumbs up!
