What a fantastic evening. Chef Tex did not disappoint. The cocktails down to the dessert and smooth saki were excellent. The Yellowtail and ahi were so fresh and flavorful. The Hucker salad named after his sous chef was maybe the best salad I’ve ever tasted. Everything put in front of us we devoured. We felt so lucky to hear about the dishes straight from Chef Tex. We left so full we had to roll out of there!

Nobu Lanai delivers a stunning culinary adventure. Perfectly blending Japanese flavors with Hawaiian flair, each dish is a masterpiece. The ocean-side location adds to the serene ambiance, while the staff exudes warmth and professionalism. Unpretentious yet luxurious, it's more than dining—it's a memorable, palate-awakening journey.

The food was good. Unfortunately, when the restaurant charges high prices, they set a very high bar on food. One that Nobu was not able to reach. So, the food was good -- but at $110 per person, you expect the food would be great. It certainly was not. The value -- that is, food quality for the price -- was not there. If you are prepared to spend a lot of money on a restaurant -- more than $200 for 2 people, you can do better than NOBU.

At $195 each, the omakase is way overpriced. The raw fish was good, but not exceptional. The wagyu beef had a string of tough unchewable connective tissue throughout. No way was this meal worth $500.

Ambiance of the restaurant provided the quintessential Hawaii experience since it overlooks beautiful Manele Bay. The open-air design of the restaurant makes it also perfect for those searching for an open-air dining experience during the COVID pandemic. Food & service were excellent. It was the perfect meal to end our honeymoon on Lanai!

FAQs

Yes, Nobu Lanai is an excellent choice for a date night. The open-air dining room overlooks Hulopoe Bay and Puʻu Pehe, creating a romantic oceanfront backdrop. The menu features signature Nobu dishes (Black Cod Miso, Yellowtail Jalapeño), a 15-course Teppanyaki dinner and A5 Wagyu on volcanic hot rock, which all make for a special-occasion meal. Consider reserving a sunset seating for the best views and a memorable evening.

Portions vary by experience: Nobu Lanai offers both signature a la carte items and a 15-course Teppanyaki tasting, so expect a mix of multi-course tasting portions and shareable plates. The 15-course teppanyaki is deliberately composed of smaller, curated courses, while specialty items like Black Cod Miso or A5 Wagyu are served as individual entre9es. If you prefer larger portions, ask staff about sharing options or ordering additional dishes.

The best time to go is at dinner around sunset for dramatic views over Hulopoe Bay and Puʻu Pehe. Dinner service begins at 5:30 pm, so an early reservation can catch the last light; later seatings are great for a relaxed evening after sunset. If you want a quieter experience, request an earlier table when making your reservation.

The ambience is elegant yet relaxed: open-air, oceanfront dining overlooking Hulopoe Bay with views toward Puʻu Pehe. The setting highlights Lanai's marine conservation area and natural scenery, while the menu focuses on refined, signature Nobu dishes, creating a blend of resort-style sophistication and casual island charm. Expect a scenic, refined dinner atmosphere suited to special occasions or a memorable resort meal.

Casual dress is the stated dress code. While the atmosphere is refined and ideal for special evenings, the restaurant notes a casual dress policy, comfortable resort wear is appropriate. If you have a special occasion, you can still dress up; when in doubt, call the restaurant or Four Seasons' front desk for guidance.

Yes, the restaurant lists daily dinner hours (Daily 5:30 pm–9:00 pm), which indicates it operates every day of the week. Because holiday hours or special closures can vary, ite2s a good idea to confirm with the Four Seasons Lanai before a holiday visit.
