Consistently spectacular. Flavors, hospitality & service, & expert wine program & service make this an intelligent choice for discerning diners.
Wanted a nice atmosphere, great food, and a good date night dinner. Nonna’s hit it right on the head! We really enjoyed the evening. The wine was great as were the food and the service. Top notch in my opinion.
Outstanding quality of food, cozy neighborhood feel. Love it.
Excellent definitely recommend the pasta
My first time I visited was a much better experience than the second time around. Our waiter didn't seem very interested in attending to my sister and I. We might not have had a big enough table, or appeared to be good tippers. Whatever the case, I would say the service we received impacted the entire experience. If you are going to eat at Nonna, sit at the counter, the service is excellent at the counter! The food was just "okay" this visit. I'd go back to The Charles any day before coming back to Nonna for a third try! It hit the spot for our birthday dinner, but Nonna won't come top of mind for recommendations when I am asked.
Nonna has amazing food (smaller portions so you don’t feel like a pig...plus save room for dessert)! Small, cozy restaurant with excellent service. The brioche crostini was amazing, lobster ravioli was very good (broth based so almost like dumplings in soup). I understand now why reservations are tough to get. Great place!
Another wonderful meal at Nonna. Service is impeccable and the salads/pastas/bread are all delicious!
Food was great, service was attentive, great Italian wine list.
The gnocchetti with shiitake mushrooms was SO sumptuous. I would have happily eaten a double serving. Juan, our server was most helpful. Another tasty meal.
Beyond exceptional. Always is. Was late for our reservation and they always make it feel like home. The very best Dallas has to offer. Wine list is superb. Never misses a beat. If Dallas had Michelin, this would be on the list.
Great service and food in the dining room and bar! Only downside was the hostess when we arrived. We made a reservation for the dining room, and she said that we hadn’t, and that next time we can sit in dining- she would make a note in our account. I then told her we did make a reservation this time in dining, and wanted to sit there if possible. She said there was no availability. Then I stated we would wait for a table in the dining room. About 20-30 minutes after our original reservation time, we were able to get a table. Just felt that the first impression walking into the restaurant wasn’t welcoming or accommodating. We only stayed because we have dined at Nonna before and loved the food.
The BEST IN DALLAS!!! Love eating at bar with Phil....
Great atmosphere for any occasion. Love that the menu changes almost daily. My wife and I couldn't decide on what we wanted and was delighted to hear about the pasta sampler option. It was just plate after plate of amazingly prepared food.
Will definitely be a regular here for many occasions to come.
Have recommended this to many colleagues. I travel to Dallas for work often and recently heard of Nonna. Have eaten several meals there at the bar. Incredibly good food. Great service. Nice neighborhood atmosphere. Barman (David) is awesome. Think Philip is regular bartender and he’s supposed to be great guy too. This will be a regular stop for me for future visits.
Best Italian in Dallas. Reasonable portions, obviously house made pasta, imaginative and DELICIOUS. Nice selection of wine, attentive service- perfect
The food was delicious, there’s always something new to try. George was extremely helpful. He’s knowledgeable about the menu, gives helpful recommendations and very service oriented.
Very good pizza and pasta. Authentic Italian food. Huge selection of wines
Fantastic as always and our server David is fabulous as well! We just love everything about Nonna’s ♥️
Although very small and really no place to wait at the bar area the over all evening was very good. The food is creative and fresh and very tasty and the service was adequate. The wine list was very reasonably priced with many choices of different Italian varieties. It’s worth coming back again
Remains excellent over a decade and I hope to return often.
Consistently excellent, on the plate, in the glass & the service that provides it.
I was thrilled to be able to get a weeknight table at the last minute to Nonna which is usually booked way in advance. Hmm. The menu is mostly pastas and pizzas, but I ordered the hanger steak for $50 which was overcooked. The shaved spring vegetables were fantastic. My partner had the gnocchi, which was tasty, but the waiter could not add chicken to the dish as requested. Overall, a disappointment. Waiter was a bit distracted and dismissive, as if he had more important work elsewhere. This is a better place, I think, if you want all carbs for dinner.
Excellent experience as always. Juan was a very knowledgeable and attentive server. Our friends loved their food. We always love our dishes at Nonna! It was wonderful to see the amazing David!!! Keep up the great work.
We split a series of courses, and would recommend this as the way to go. We tried the avocado and Kale crostini, The speck and pea pizza, the Spelt spaghetti, the steak and the chocolate cake for dessert. All were enjoyable, but the pasta and steak really stood out. Service was great, with our waiter giving us several suggestions the paid off. We actually couldn't decide between the cake and the semifreddo, and he suggest we subsitutded the semifreddo for the caramel ice cream that came with it. Great idea. We asked for the steak to be cooked a hair above medium rare, and it came out perfectly. Excellent wine selection, and prices weren't bad for the quality. All in all, a superb meal.
Not child friendly. Food is delicious and atmosphere great, but they have no high chairs or boosters which makes dinner with a toddler a nightmare. A bit shocking at this price point that they aren't more accomodating. Nice environment but stay away if you have small children, they are not welcome there.
It was surprisingly busy for a Monday night. I wasn’t sure if our server was hard of hearing as she never acknowledged when we asked for something. She eventually would fulfill the requests but we weren’t sure each time if she heard us. The food was very good albeit a few dollars more on each item than I thought competitive for equivalent ambiance and food quality. Especially enjoyed the sformato and the chocolate dessert.
Best Pasta in Dallas. If they ever have the Sformato on the menu, get it
Great as always!
Best Italian food in Dallas.
Nonna is one of our favorite special date night spots. The food is always perfectly prepared and interesting. They use fresh, in season ingredients, so the menu varies. The wood fired oven makes the best bread (poofy, crusty, hot from the oven!) We like to ask for grated Parm and EVOO to dip our bread in.
We thought that the selections were slightly under seasoned this time. We ordered the FArro salad- delicious!, the squid antipasto (a little tough), the shiitake mushroom pizza (wow!) (thin crust, not too cheesy) and the Tortelini with meyer lemon cream sauce. The tortellini was heavy on the cream, not very flavorful. The handmade Tortellini pasta itself was heavenly! If you ever see the tortellini with speck on the menu- GET IT! The service is always attentive and perfectly paced. Nonna has excellent Italian wines and are they very helpful in navigating the (for us) lesser known Italian varieties.
It could not have been better. It was perfect. It is a foodies restaurant
Service was abysmal. It took 30 minutes to get our salad & an hour to receive our main course. The waitress was sweet, but forgot to put or order “in.” She was very patient, I will say, as we tried four different wines in an attempt to find one we liked.
The service and the food were both amazing! The lobster ravioli is a must have! Love Nonna!
Consistently excellent! Food, service, and the restaurant overall.
Will definitely return
Amazing ricotta tortilini
Chopped salad the best
This was our second visit to Nonna in the past 5 years. The first time we went was for a chef's special 5 course menu where we did not know exactly what was going to be on the menu. I remembered being blown away with almost every single dish. The stand out dish that left a permanent imprint on our senses was the bacon fat ravioli that just melted in your mouth. With that said, we were expecting A LOT when we went back on our second visit. We decided to order 3 pasta dishes just to have different tastes, but to our surprise none of the pasta dishes blew us away. Don't get me wrong, they were good but I believe the first visit may have place too high of an expectation on Nonna. However, if you have not been here I would definitely recommend. Something of note is that our waiter mentioned that they turn their menu about 65% every day, which was suprising and maybe something that will bring us back.
Food was as usual pretty delicious. Service was slow. It was so noisy that conversation was really difficult, even for two people with normal hearing!
Less noisy than I expected given the concrete floor. Food and service are great
