    Great atmosphere, heard good reports from friends. On arrival, despite reservation, asked if we wanted to sit at a booth in the bar. Waitress was pleasant but not very knowledgeable about the steaks or their preparation…..this is a steak restaurant. Several sides on the menu not available——and among the promoted special sides, were 86’d (it was 715 on a Friday). All at the table had steaks. Flavor was great, temperature was cool as though they’d been sitting awhile prior to presentation. Desserts were really good. Nice addition to Athens, hope they can work out the kinks before we go back.

    Overall, we really enjoyed our evening at The Oak. The kitchen is still working through a few issues, including a slightly overcooked medium-rare steak, a slightly undercooked medium-well steak, and a soufflé that hadn't quite set. That said, the appetizers, salad, and side dishes were wonderful. The kitchen corrected the steaks quickly and handled the situation with an apology and a smile. Our waiter, Cameron, was terrific. He even remembered having served us at another local restaurant several months ago, which was a nice personal touch. The Oak has top-notch staff in place, and we think it has all the makings of a truly exceptional restaurant. Give the kitchen a few more months to work out the kinks, and we expect it will be close to perfect. It is an expensive evening, but we left feeling it was worth it!

    We had a great time Thursday night. Cameron struck just the right balance of knowledgeable and fun, and the kitchen outdid itself with delicious, generous extras. We're already looking forward to coming back. Thank you!

    Was super excited to try this new steak house. Took my mom there for her bday. Ordered the 8oz filet cooked medium it came out well done it was tough to cut . The Mac and cheese tastes like bland noodles, no cream sauce to be found and it was dry. For the price it wasn’t worth it. You’re better of spending a little more money going to a nicer restaurant in Atlanta I won’t be back!
