Wonderful unique and delicious food. Service is top notch. Looking forward to visitng again
Everything was great! Table was ready at the reservation time. All the food came out hot and fresh. Don't forget the wings with the Peli Peli sauce! Great dining experience.
We had reservations for Valentines day, due to the weather conditions the restaurant was closing. They allowed us to keep our reservations but was kinda rushed to get off. Our food was under cooked, and dessert bagged to go before we finished eating. I know the food is usually good. This was my first time at this location, the ambiance was not what I expected, especially compared to the other location I been to. It was also freezing in the restaurant, they wasn't able to turn off the AC unit, so pretty much everyone in there ate with their coats on and complained how cold it was. I would go back and I would love a do over of y dinner just to give them a 2nd chance.
everything was wonderful. we always have a great time.
Different owners now, but still great food and service. However, as a heads up, I would not recommend the "roasted potatoes". They looked like frozen potatoes, but everything else was great. Brussel sprouts and carrot bredie were delicious.
Dinner date with my husband
We loved the Vintage Park location. This one seems to be a scaled down version but the food is yummy. Our server, Stevie, was very good. We will definitely go back again! I had the chicken skewer which was so delicious.
Food was very good but our server was not very friendly at all. Tried to use our Open Table reward and restaurant wouldn’t accept it. Still shows $20 on the reward card. They told us it had nothing on it?? I guess don’t offer them if you’re not willing to accept.
I haven’t been back to Peli Peli since covid began and was very disappointed in the menu and the changes that have been made.
Our server was lacking in keeping our drinks full and we waited quite a while in between visits to the table. They don’t have the peppadew anymore so that’s disappointing. Our server came to the table with other patrons dirty dishes in his hands which was gross and unappetizing. The place does not have the feel of the vintage park location ( had) it closed. Valet was a disappointment as they told us to just park ourselves in a valet spot, they were too busy. Brussel sprouts were amazing. Food did take forever though.
Outstanding food! Great selection. Perhaps a little more choice of deserts would be helpful
The service was really slow. Our waitress was fine, but she took forever to bring food out, take order, bring drinks and even bring the check. I asked if they where short handed but she said "no, we just are not used to being busy" I notice that other tables were having a hard time getting their order in. It was just a slow service over all.
The food was great
Wonderful dinner. Fantastic and informative server. Can not wait to visit again and try more on the menu.
Birthday dinner on Sunday night; Excellent food and service. The only negative was the wife was looking forward to Crab Curry which wasn’t available. Everything else was very good.
Excellent food. Ambiance not great.
Great food. Amazing service. We really enjoyed ourselves!!!
Outstanding food and service. The room was a little loud due to no walls to help cut down noise. That would be the only helpful addition. Everything else was outstanding!
We have often had dinner at Peli Peli.
Coming from South Africa, I am amazed at the quality and variety of the dishes which are all very tasty.
However, staff not always top notch.
The other thing I dislike is the decor. Much nicer before they changed. When I go there now, I no longer have the feeling of going out for a nice meal but rather a very average night out.
I had to return my ribeye espetada two times because it was not cooked properly. And after the third attempt of it not being cooked properly I ran out of time and so ended up taking the food home. I got an apology from the waitress but manager never came over to check and there was no additional discount or anything else offered. They also we’re running a promotion for a kids meal for free with the purchase of an adult entrée which they did not honor. We had to reach out separately to the general manager in order to address our dining concerns and are reluctant to go back at this point
Great dinner and our waitress was spot on.
The interior is not like other Peli Peli locations. Seems very low end. The ambience here is poor. There are better options for the dollar in the Woodlands area.
Good friends and good food!!!
Everything was fantastic! We were sat immediately after making our reservation. I was kindly greeted and received excellent service throughout my meal. All of the food was amazing and I love coming here.
My only complaint is that I indicated in my reservation that today is my husband’s actual birthday that we were celebrating at lunch and nobody at Peli Peli acknowledged it.
We have been there numerous times. Enjoy it every time
Enjoyed a variety of signature South African dishes -- all were delicious. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful.
Amazing food, amazing service, everything was an amazing experience
We had seen the restaurant but had never given it a try. What a BIG mistake. We were doubtful since we have never tried Southafrican cuisine, but now we want to go back and try everything on the menu. Wonderful food. Wonderful sauces. From appetizers to desserts, everything tasted delicious. What a pleasant surprise.
My husband is from South Africa so we decided to give this place a try. AMAZING and surprisingly authentic! The brisket bunny chow bread bowls are our absolute favorite. Will not disappoint!
We visited on New Year’s day and was looking forward to sharing this great place with visiting family members. I was very disappointed to find a very limited New Years menu. I did not see anywhere that indicated that the menu was going to be limited, and would have waited for a different night.
It is little bright in dinning area so doesn’t feel like the mood matches cost but food is great we will be back.
This was our second time going to Peli Peli. The excellent food during the first visit brought us back for a second time, and it did not disappoint! However, our server, though she tried to be accomodating, was very inexperienced and we had some delays in service that we don't expect in this level of restaurant. Also the lights in the restaurant were not dimmed at all for a night time meal, so it felt like we were eating in a strip mall restaurant.
Great food and outstanding service.
The service was fantastic, drinks were good. The cod was a little over cooked as to the tenderness. But the flavors were great. The scallops/Shrimp/calimari skewer was excellent. The sides were good, the lobster Mac doesn’t have much lobster, but was really good. Desserts were excellent and overall a great experience.
We have been out of the country for 3 years and during this time we couldn’t wait to go back to Peli Peli. Literally our favorite restaurant ever. We went to the Vintage Park location so many times.
Unfortunately a lot has changed and the food was disappointing to put it mildly. The slaw and wings were completely different. The meat lacked flavor. We won’t go back and honestly we are embarrassed we recommended Peli Peli to so many people.
The overall menu and flavor profile here is really good. However, for us, most of our food was “richened” up with so much buttery liquid, (for example with the shrimp which was otherwise so yummy, or the seafood plate which essentially “covered up” the seafood flavor with rich buttery sauce) we left with stomach aches. One in our party mentioned it was as if the seafood platter was actually for those who don’t really like seafood. I don’t think the food needs it at all, I’d recommend to let the unique and flavorful food speak for itself more and go much lighter on the buttery sauces- maybe even placing them on the side as an option to dip.
From initial contact with a welcoming manager to our phenomenal server to food that exceeded our expectations, the entire experience was excellent. We look forward to returning. Also, we appreciated their commitment to keeping guests safe from COVID. I wish all restaurants would do a simple & quick temperature check as Peli Peli does.
It was amazing the server && Food was very outstanding
