We had an excellent and memorable experience at Perry's on February the 28th to celebrate 33 wonderful years of marriage. We will return in the very near future and we will tell all of our friends. Our waiter provided excellent service as well!
Phenomenal dining experience. Food is top quality and our waiter, Marlon, was phenomenal
Possibly the best ribeye steak I have had. Great job.
Excelente ambiente muy buena la comida, muy recomendable
Food and service was very good
Didn't exactly meet my expectations, Perrys house red wine was delicious! Service wasn't exceptional - our server didn't check on us at all. At the end of the night requested another server to seal our bottle of wine so we could take it home. When you're paying $400 + for a nice meal you expect a little more hospitality.
We had dinner here on Sunday night , February 21, 2021, which was most likely the first post "Winter Storm Uri" day of operation. However, the food was not up to the standard Perry's quality level I have experienced in the past. We order the ribeye and it was a very thin, slightly overcooked piece of meat. While flavorful, it was certainly nothing to write home about...better than Saltgrass Steakhouse, but not by much! The side dishes, whipped potatoes and brussels sprouts, we very good. The service was weak, at best. We arrived just after 6:00 p.m. and didn't receive our food until 7:00 p.m. Also, they brought out the brussels sprouts and set them on the table about 15 minutes before anything else arrived. We told them these were not an appetizer, but meant to be combined with our meal.
In a city that is practically overrun with outstanding steakhouse options, I am not sure we will be recommending Perry's in River Oaks to anyone.
The pork chop is outstanding: It's carved tableside providing a succulent dinner of wonderful pork! We enjoy the "leftovers" for a few more meals at home. The Sunday Pork Chop dinner special, priced at $39, is a bargain. The special includes a salad or soup, a pork chop, plus a dessert.
The steak was one of the most delicious we’ve had at any restaurant. The waiter listened to how we like ours prepared and made specific recommendations that turned out to be absolutely spot on! The appetizers and side dishes were delicious as well.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. Customer service and food were excellent. Out waitresss, Emily, was very sweet and helpful. The overall celebration was great. Thanks Perry’s for a memorable evening.
Amazing food and drinks! Waiter was excellent and very accommodating with a child . So much fun to get out and know that the food is going to be good 😊
Dinner was great. I will come back. Will recommend.
Will definitely visit again I visited for a Galentines Day weekend and we had a blast.
Best experience I’ve had in Houston. Food and service was awesome!!
We are from Birmingham and the food was amazing!
We had a lovely pre-Valentine's Day dinner here. All was delicious! Was a bit on the noisey side since we were seated at a table in the bar area. I saw there were people going upstairs so maybe that section is better. Signature Asparagus app and the siracha brussel sprouts, could make a meal off of those!
Great food-great service
We found the hostess staff lacking. While we were seated 10 minutes after the reservation time(acceptable) we were never updated as to when we might expect a table. Then, when the hostess took us to our table she merely pointed at it and walked on by without stopping to make sure we were seated.
Can’t go wrong with pork chop Friday at Perrys!!!!
We asked for candles and they didn’t have. However, they were able to bring petals to decorate a bit the table.
The pork chop was amazing as always. Great service.
Arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiter was great and always there when something was needed. Food was excellent. We will definitely be back when we are in Houston and will try one of the flaming desserts the next time. Great dining experience.
Remodeling building but other than that everything was great. I’m going back next week
Food was phenomenal! Service was great. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions! There was a small hiccup is service from the kitchen and the manager came to our table and made sure things were great! I have no complaints and will return Perry’s!
Our sides for the table arrived after steaks were cold and almost eaten. We were not charged for the sides but being free doesn’t help give back the positive experience expected when going to a steakhouse. Service was slow for drinks as well. Not what we expected.
Sat for our 7:15 reservation at 8:20 and then we were asked to move. No one ever apologized for our inconvenience.
Perrys is one of my favorite restaurants and have never had a bad experience. We were seated in the bar area. It was noisy and while our waiter tried to serve us he seemed to have too many tables. It took along to get drinks and refills. The food was underwhelming and the table side presentation of cutting the pork chop and grilling our filet and seafood was not up to par. My shrimp and lobster were overcooked. We had the banana fosters flambé and that presentation was not like our typical experience. I was thrown into a bowl and put in the center of the table. I will not return to this location. We had friends visiting from out of state and I was embarrassed by the whole experience given we had touted Perry as one of our favorite restaurants.
Excellent meal and service. Will definitely be back.
Ive dined at Perry’s quite often and always had a great experience, BUT today’s lunch was absolutely TERRIBLE! I’ve heard so much about their pork chop special on Fridays, so I decided to finally give it a try. Once I was seated the server Eric was nowhere to be found, then once our entrees were delivered we had no steak knives. When he finally came back to the table I ordered another cocktail. Again Eric disappeared, a manger came to check on us and I just politely told him that my cocktail was never delivered and I won’t be needing it now since I’ve already finished my lunch, but the manger insisted that I have the cocktail on the house. Then it was time to box up food, Eric brushed it off to a Server assist who was very nice and polite, but I don’t really feel like it was the server assists job to do Eric’s job. Then the check finally came and the cocktail that I was given “on the house” I was charged for. By that time I was furious. I spoke with a different manger Nichols, (who was just plain out rude and dry/ seemed not to care about my horrible experience). Nichols not once apologized for the terrible service, but tried to give ME a lecture about the boxing up food procedure, which in my opinion made NO sense whatsoever. Eric was just LAZY. I just felt like since it was pork chop Friday neither the manger (Nichols) nor the server (Eric) really cared about the guest experience which is unacceptable considering your in the HOSPITALITY industry. Please do better and make sure your giving 110% to EVERY guest that walks in the door. Highly dissatisfied & I won’t return to the River Oak location.
Nice food. Mediocre service. Brought out our steak on a platter but never brought dinner plates for us to eat from. So the steak sat there and got cold until they finally brought dinner plates. Infrequently filled the wine glasses.
The ny strip was cooked perfectly, and we loved the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer! Our waiter was great too!
We’ll be back
The atmosphere was really nice. Dim lights with excellent service from our waiter. The food was okay, I had the surf and turf pasta with steak tips and lobster. Was expecting a bigger portion for lobster, but that was fine. Also has asparagus with crab meat which was good, a tad bit too salty, but not inedible.
We have dined at this location (River Oaks) a dozen times over this past year. 10 out of 12 times it is WONDERFUL. Unfortunately, last night wasn’t one of those times and it was AWFUL. The food (what we did get) was very good. The service (what we did get) was very bad. The GM said they were short staffed because of COVID. But, that does not account for not receiving all of the food we ordered even after we told 2 wait staff members. It does account for why we were not offered a second cocktail and why no one came by to check on this table during the evening. The GM offered us these words “I can tell you a story or I can comp your check” at the end of our meal. What??? We left with the comp but it was an awfully bad night for this Perry’s.
