What Insiders Are Saying
No, Pizzeria Mozza is not the best pizza in LA. But that doesn’t mean it’s not still a good restaurant.
Held out table as we were late for traffic and I called twice to let them know ... bus boys were very good... waiter was good though didn’t explain menu or how it worked
... had to pull teeth for descriptions ... ended up with a pizza with no cheese as didn’t explain what it was
I felt expensive for the meal . 7 total but one adult , mostly teens and 2 were 12. Only had one glass of wine ... with tip was over $400
As a special place to go for more than just pizza, it is worth it! Interesting presentation and delicious food. Glad we went.
One of the best tasting pizzas I’ve had. The crust was exactly to my liking, crispy and soft on the inside. We loved the Funghi pizza the most!
My all time favorite pizza restaurant. Consistently great pizza. I love the Bianca pizza with fried sage. The tricolore salad is amazing and the butterscotch budino for dessert is delicious. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful.
Always fun and great food. Staff is awesome!
My favorite meal: fried quash blossoms, Nancy's salad, pizza and budino. Can't go wrong with that...
It’s still great. Best pizza in Los Angeles. Amazing salads. Friendly, smart, efficient wait staff. I love it.
This pizza ruined us to all other pizzas. Unfortunately, we live an hour drive away, but I know that we will be back soon! The crust was delicious. As we chewed, we could hear it continue to crunch with every bite. The toppings on the pizzas were bold and different and made us think more than your average pizza. Parking was easy to find, reservations were simple to make, and the staff was kind. The only partial downside was one of our pizzas was on the cold side, while one was so hot that I burned the roof of my mouth! Other than that, a great dining experience.
We love Mozza for many reason but everything is always done perfectly. Great food, wonderful service, reasonable price and fantastic atmosphere. We frequent Mozza whenever possible, however, yesterday friends joined us that had never been to Mozza. They were wowed the same as we always are. The fennel sausage pizza and squash blossoms..well...perfection.
Las flores de calabaza rellenas de ricotta, los espárragos y la pizza de hongos imperdibles.
Todo delicioso y el servicio muy amable.
Always love the food and staff. Little loud, but ok.
The food at Pizzeria Mozza was excellent. The service was just okay. Had a couple different waiters serve us, never really knew who was our waiter. Would I recommend it sure. If you want good food with fresh ingredients.
One of the best pizza restaurants in Los Angeles. Now offering more than just great pizzas. Wonderful food.
Great pizza and salads. Make sure you order the cheese stuffed flower blossoms
This is our favorite restaurant -- the food is fantastic.
Pizzeria Mozza is my favorite place to eat in LA! it is tight in there, and loud. The waiter was very busy when we were there and didn't check in often. Always love the host who has been there for a long time.
Our sever was excellent.
The front room was simply too loud.
I thought all my food selection for the whole table were good.
However, the pizza was simply average. I expected a better pizza considering that what the restaurant is famous for.
Try it at least once...but I wont be back...
Atmosphere and ambiance makes for a terrific upscale pizza experience. Upscale in terms of quality, don’t think fine dining, it’s casual. Go on the weekend and don’t leave without trying the lasagna, best I’ve ever had! Unbelievably incredible pizza and wait staff was tremendous!
thankfully, we went early! the noise level is quite loud, even early. the service was great! the food was very good. the chopped salad had too much oregano and not enough lemon juice or vinegar. the pizza and the budino were great!!
Our server was very unprofessional.
For a restaurant that just got a spot on the michelin guide bib gourmand, the food was just absolutely disappointing. Underseasoned and flavors were not complementing each other.
The wine we ordered was OLD flat wine, and could only fill half of the glass, our server had to leave our table, to get a new bottle of wine to top it off. Ridiculous.
For the amount of work Nancy Silverton has put in to establish her name in the industry, it is sad to have this kind of experience in one of her restaurant.
Just very tight quarters and very noisy so be prepared to sit next to people you do not know and be ready for them to also listen to part or all of your conversation
noise levels is high in mail dining room. much cozier and quietier in side room.
Great service and food. Made the birthday celebration so much fun and enjoyable. The food was absolutely amazing due to awesome recommendations by the server.
The pizza used to be better. It is bit in a salty side. The desserts are not the specialty.
Best pizza ever
Great lunch! My wife and I were close by, having spent the morning at the LA County Museum. We were able to get a table within an hour on OpenTable. Started with the Squash Blossom Fritti with ricotta. Then the grilled octopus salad. Both were perfect. We shared a Fennel Sausage, Panna, Mozzarella, Red Onions & Scallion pizza. I loved it. The fennel sausage was a bit spicy however for my wife. More for me! Next time I promised my wife we’ll get the Meyer lemon, aglio e olio, aritchoke, chervil & ricotta pizza. Couldn’t help but end the meal with a dolci, the Pavlova with mixed berries, lemon curd & pistachios. A great ying yang of crunchy chewy tangy creamy and tasty.
We loved the octopus salad, chicken liver crostata, funghi misti pizza and the special lasagna. A bit crowded and noisy but the food is definitely worth it
My sister and I had a TERRIBLE dining experience at Mozza. I arrived early, but the hostess would not seat me, even though the restaurant was half empty. My sister was driving from over an hour away and was held up in traffic. At 15 minutes past our reservation time (on the dot) the hostess came over and said the reservation was being cancelled because not everyone was present. Instead, she said we could sit at the bar, in a tone that suggested she was doing us a favor. As my sister is nearly 8 months pregnant with swollen ankles and a large belly, sitting on a barstool at the cramped bar was not going to work. The hostess finally agreed to seat me, but said we could only have the table for 1 hour and that I had to order all of the food for both of us right away. Again, the restaurant was not even crowded! Well, 55 minutes later, while we were still eating, the hostess came over and told us we had to vacate the table. Meanwhile, guests at other tables were allowed to linger with no time limit, even after their bills were paid. I asked to speak to the manager and explained the situation, noting that I was on time and my sister arrived 2 minutes after the 15 minute grace period. I asked if we had both arrived on time, would we be asked to leave? He said no. So I asked if my sister had been two minutes earlier, would we be asked to leave? He equivocated and refused to answer the question. But it sounded like a no. If the restaurant is so concerned with turning over tables so that the next group of guests can be seated, there would be a time limit for all diners. Instead, we were being punished because my sister was a few minutes late. Both the manager and hostess were so unpleasant and clearly did not care about customer service. Since the restaurant is popular, they assume people will continue to dine there anyway. It really ruined our evening.
Amazing place, food, ambiance service!!!
We were a graduation party and they kindly held our reservations even though we were late. And the pizza!!!
Great food and atmosphere. Best pizza I ever ate! A little disappointed they were out of the special of the day.
This place never disappoints. The fried cauliflower was crisp and had just the right texture. The meatballs were tender and had just the right amount of tomato sauce to go with it. The sqashblossom pizza balanced a little bitterness with the sweetness of the burrata.
The butterscotch budino and especially the small rosemary cookies are my favorite, so smooth, sweet with a hint of salt. Hope to be back soon.
Luis — great server.
Chicken liver bruschetta — a long-time favorite. A little salty today but still delicious.
Insalata tricolore delicious.
A new one for us — cauliflower fritti with a spicy remoulade. REALLY yummy.
A meatball pizza — divine. (Much more refined than it sounds, dotted with fresh sage leaves.)
Great meal, great service, and at 4 pm, not insanely crowded, incomparably loud, nor rushed through our meal.
Pizza was good, not great. Pizzana was better. Server was atrocious. Disinterested and unengaged. Was expensive overall and didn't feel like great value.
Everything other than the pizza I think is meh kina crowded but pizza is fantastic
Pizza can’t get better than this!
Got lucky enough to sit in the wine room. Atmosphere was akin to a trattoria in italy and much less noisy than the main restaurant. Food is superb. The caprese salad is one of the best I have ever tasted. Do yourself a favor and order it! (unless you're lactose, and then... I'm sorry.)
This is our family’s favorite place to go for pizza! We go during school holidays and it’s such a treat for all!
The Birottte Family
Everything on the menu is delicious! The staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve been here four times now, and can’t wait to go back and try more items on the menu!
Excellent as always, one of the best restaurants in LA. 1st time sitting in the wine cellar room which we loved. Must order pizzas are the Squash Blossom & also the Fennel Sausage. We also loved the Caprese, the bread alone was amazing! Tried the cauliflower fritti, now a new favorite, could have skipped the octopus salad though. Ended the meal with one of the best desserts in LA, their Budino 🙌
