Once again, the food is exceptional. Steak Ala mama is the best in the state. The noise levels is horrendous. Trying to converse normally is impossible. I understand the ceiling and floor have been fixtures at Plum Point Bistro forever, but please make the dining experience more palatable and inviting.

Love this restaurant, but the noise level is horrible. Cannot carry on a conversation. You cannot hear each other. That is the one reason we don’t come often. Otherwise we would be there at least weekly.

Among the best restaurants in RI, tucked away at the Jtown bridge entrance in Saunderstown. Excellent food, excellent value, excellent service. We enjoyed the pork chops and chicken cutlets with pasta. Our server, MK, was great...very attentive. Highly recommend...can't go wrong!

The food was amazing – the service was amazing. We were happy to be in the sunporch area, which is less dark and less loud. We will be back soon as it was absolutely delicious. We got the chicken that was stuffed with mushrooms and had prosciutto. We shared a delicious salad and the kitchen very kindly split the salad and the entrée for us and it was plenty of food.

We were so pleased with our dinner at Plum Point Bistro! In spite of the fact that the restaurant was extremely busy, the service was exceptional. My husband really enjoyed the special, which was a seared tuna. I had a taste of his tuna, which was absolutely delicious, and I enjoyed my pasta dish. The cocktails were perfect, and the presentation was lovely. We will be back soon!

When we arrived the restaurant was so loud that our group of 6 had to practically shout in order to hear each other. The bar was so packed that you could walk through and there were 10 people standing at the hostess desk waiting to be seated. Food was outstanding and service was solid. I wouldn’t go back though with the noise level.

FAQs

Plum Pt. Bistro offers a lively indoor dining room with a central bar plus an outdoor/deck area. Guests frequently mention a crowded bar, booth seating (comfortable for groups), and a covered/heated deck that’s quieter in warm months. The dining room’s acoustics can be lively; if you want less noise, ask for the deck or a table away from the bar.

While a formal waitlist isn’t documented, the restaurant commonly runs behind and hosts long waits even with reservations, guests report waiting 20–60 minutes. Reservations are highly recommended, but expect possible delays during busy weekend nights; calling the restaurant or arriving early can help. Hosts manage seating, and staff sometimes ask lingering groups to make room.

Yes, Plum Pt. Bistro is a popular choice for date night if you value excellent food and attentive service. Guests consistently praise the fresh seafood, handmade pastas and specials, plus friendly, knowledgeable servers. If you want a quieter, more intimate experience, ask for outdoor deck seating or an early reservation; the indoor dining room and bar can be very loud on busy nights. Overall, great for a lively, food-focused date night.

Portions at Plum Pt. Bistro tend to be generous. Guests regularly report large, shareable entrees and salads, with many people taking leftovers home. Pastas and specials are described as plentiful, and appetizers like mussels or calamari are sizeable enough to share. If you prefer lighter portions, consider sharing an entrée or starting with a salad.

Family-friendly: yes, guests frequently bring family for birthdays and special occasions, and booths are noted as comfortable for groups. Accessible seating: not clearly documented in reviews or owner info, so call ahead to confirm wheelchair access or any specific needs. If you’re bringing children or need a specific table, request it when booking and the staff will usually try to accommodate.

The best time is early in the evening or on a weekday: guests say early seatings (or dining on Tue–Wed) are noticeably quieter and quicker. Weekends, especially Friday and Saturday nights, fill up and become lively and loud, reservations often face waits. If you prefer a calmer meal, aim for an early table or request outdoor/deck seating.

Yes, families and kids do dine at Plum Pt. Bistro and guests often celebrate birthdays with children. While there’s no published kids’ menu mentioned in reviews, the menu has a wide variety of pastas, seafood and familiar options that appeal to families. For younger children, an early seating or outdoor table may make the visit more comfortable.

Plum Pt. Bistro’s posted hours are: Tue–Wed 4:00 pm–9:00 pm; Thu–Sat 4:00 pm–10:00 pm. Because the restaurant is popular and specials may vary, it’s a good idea to check their website or call before you go for holiday hours or updates.

Casual, the restaurant lists its dress code as Casual Dress. Guests typically dine in relaxed, smart-casual attire suitable for a comfortable neighborhood bistro.

Yes, guests report the staff is accommodating with dietary needs (vegan accommodations were praised) and special occasions. You can request seating preferences (booth, deck, away from bar) and note dietary restrictions when you book, but requests aren’t guaranteed on very busy nights. Calling ahead is the best way to confirm details.

Weekdays, especially Tuesday or Wednesday, are often the best days for a quieter meal and smoother seating. Many guests recommend early weekday dinners to avoid the heavy weekend traffic and bar crowd; Thursday–Saturday are busier and more energetic if you prefer a lively night out.

Plum Pt. Bistro has an energetic, friendly bistro vibe, warm, casual and bustling. Guests love the charming décor and upbeat service, calling it lively and fun. Be aware the indoor room can be loud (tin ceilings and hardwoods are mentioned); the overall atmosphere is vibrant rather than quiet, so it’s great for a celebratory night but less ideal for intimate, quiet conversation.

Yes, Plum Pt. Bistro has an outdoor deck/covered patio that guests often recommend. Many reviews highlight the deck as a more comfortable, quieter option than the indoor dining room, and guests mention covered and heated deck seating during cooler weather.
