The quality of the food is offensive. For context, we have been dining here for over 4 years but the place is not as good as it once was. We have tried a lot of the menu. Food quality and service has dropped significantly. Old bread, old sushi, old artichoke dip. You get better sushi from King Soopers, and for the price we paid, I will never go back. I’ve given it many chances since we noticed this decline. It always feels like we get the bottom of the pot or yesterdays leftovers. We come here because we love catching a musical or play and it’s the only convenient place, unfortunately. It used to be so good and well taken care of. It used to feel elevated and romantic. Restrooms always smell rancid now and you can tell the place has lost its quality.

The bread with the spinach dip was stale and not fit for eating. The gnocchi was okay just it was drown out by the parm and stuffing on top. Overall very mediocre especially for the price

I am happy to write a positive review after 2 years of not going to Prelude and post after a very negative experience there. Now, new chef, new manager and updated staff. My daughter and I had a , thankfully lovely experience before a play on Sunday. I’m happy to feel better about this- what used to be a staple for us as season theatre goers! It is important to give feedback- positive or negative. I’m glad this one is positive! Erin our server, Daniel, the manager all took great care to make sure our experience was great. Give it a try if you’ve been sidelined by the former crew

The bathrooms had a terrible smell and no hand soap. NOT ok. Ceiling tiles were in ill repair. A restaurant charging these prices need to step it up. It had a dirty floor.

For perspective this was my 5th time at P+P. The martini was delish and our waitress was fabulous. However, I was disappointed with the bathroom smell and the food was o.k. for the price. Because of it's location to the theatre I will be back hoping for a great experience.

I have gone here many times and this was the first disappointing visit. We had an early reservation but food took forever to come out. All the tables that were seated after us got their food much before. We had to rush to eat to get to our show time. My eggs were overcooked too. They have done a good job before. Just a bad day.

The atmosphere was pleasant, but we did have trouble with our food order. We had the Hash Benedict, supposedly with two poached eggs, but the eggs came out hard-boiled, so we asked for new eggs. The second set wasn’t much better. Next time we’ll go for the French Toast. It looked much better.

We enjoy prior post prior to going to theater performances, concerts and plays. The menu is varied and the Wine list is very approachable. We had small plates, unfortunately way they were out of the sushi roll, but the spinach, artichoke dip, meatballs, and scallops were delicious, and filling.

Our waitress was very nice and our food was absolutely amazing. We had a 6 o’clock reservation so we can make it to the 730 show. We ordered our food right away. However, our food did not come out until 7 PM so we had to rush through eating. It took over an hour to come out. I wish I could give this five stars because the food and the waitress was very good however, due to the weight and us having to rush through eating, I have to give it less stars. We will not be coming back.

FAQs

Prelude + Post fills up around showtime, expect the busiest periods in the two-hour pre-show rush (guests often describe long waits and a packed dining room), with Saturday nights frequently jammed; visits outside those theater windows, including Sunday brunch/afternoon visits, tend to feel more relaxed.

Prelude + Post offers communal seating with a lively bar area and high-tops, a large open dining room, a smaller room of standard tables, and an outdoor patio for cocktail seating. Reservations guarantee seats but not an exclusive table, since much seating is shared.

Yes, families dine here and staff are accommodating: reviewers note kids’ items like mac and cheese served at a kid-friendly temperature and servers helping families get drinks to go for shows. Parents report bringing children for quick pre-show meals with attentive service.

Prelude + Post is at its best as a pre-theater spot, arrive well before your show (guests recommend allowing around 90 minutes) to enjoy dinner and still make curtain. For a quieter, less crowded visit try Sunday brunch or times outside the two-hour pre-show rush.

Casual dress, comfortable, everyday attire is appropriate; nothing formal is expected.

Sunday is a lovely pick, Prelude + Post offers Sunday brunch (Sun 11:00 am–1:00 pm) and guests report enjoying brunch here before Sunday performances.

Some shareable plates and appetizers are described as generous, guests specifically call the charcuterie, brussels sprouts, and a few small plates comfortably shareable.
