Great experience. Pasta was the best we have ever had. Loved the overall vibe of the place.
I went for to dinner here for my birthday but service was very slow due to another very large party that was there on the same evening. Our dinner was delightful, but just note that this is not the kind of place that will offer a birthday dessert at no added cost, so you might be better off trying something else if that is important to you on your special day.
Food was good to very good, but outside of the Wellington, fell just short of excellent. Wine was great. Overall service was very good.

The Present Company is as good as the best restaurants in New York! First off,, the hostess is amazing. She is friendly, nice, and keeps things moving. The wait staff are phenomenal! They are equivalent to NYC wait staff! They are always there with whatever you need. The food is amazing. There are many options. The food is cooked to order which I love! I had the roasted beets with French onion dip. The beets were roasted perfectly and the onion dip was a great accompaniment. Then I had the monkfish with escargot butter. It was divine, and the fish was cooked perfectly! For dessert I had the lady fingers with chocolate sauce. Phenomenal! This was our third time here. The nicest thing of all was the hostess and wait staff remembered us!
The food was decent but really nothing special - several local places that I enjoy much more. The price was very high and service was extremely slow. We had 3 course prix fixe meal and had over a half hour wait for each course. This was our 2nd trip, we wanted to try a second time given all the positive reviews but we just confirmed our first impression.
confirmed a reservation 2 weeks in advance and still eneded up seated next to the kitchen and bathroom. Very slow service in between courses, but the food was terrific.
let me start off by saying the food was outstanding. we arrived at 7pm on a friday and sat in the 'kitchen' area. right as we arrived several other tables were seated in the same section and it was clear our server became distracted and overwhelmed. the first course took extremely long to come and they slowly improved with the 2nd and 3rd. to put into context, all of us had 2 rounds of drinks as we were waiting for our first course. we sat at the worst table in the entire restaurant - 4 top by the bathroom and entrance to the service area. it is a great view of the kitchen and i understand the desire to maximize seating but this table should not exist plain and simple. i really hope the owner or manager made it this far in the review if they are reading this b/c it is critical they do this!
will i return? absolutely but it will be on a quiet weekday night in hopes of getting a true present company experience.

Food and service were excellent but -----
There were a few large parties the evening we went and things got a bit out of control. An over-crowded lobby area meant people spilling over into the dining areas making the experience less enjoyable for those of us already seated. The kitchen got backed up causing long delay between courses. I would add that having eaten here quite a few times this is not something we have ever seen before. Service, food and ambiance have always been top notch. The staff recognized and acknowledged the situation and responded quickly and professionally to rectify it. We could have not asked for more.
I highly recommend PC and yes, we will be going back in the near future. Nothing in life is perfect, but they come pretty close!
I was looking forward to our evening and tasting the food at this restaurant. Other than the great beet appetizer I found the food not very flavorful, the duck was bland and undercooked, brussel sprouts very uninteresting and pea soup flavorless. The presentation disappointing. The desserts were also flavorless and not well coordinated. The cheese that they served with the beignets did not coordinate well.
Always an amazing meal. The food is unbelievable, the staff is lovely, and the experience is worth a drive. It's my favorite kind of place - casual and unpretentious with James Beard worthy food.
By far the best restaurant in Connecticut for those interested in high quality creative dishes. The atmosphere is perfect, you can actually talk with the cooks as the kitchen is exposed and you can sit at a bar running its length. You get a three course or five course most nights (the five course may contain items not on the menu), and its just awesome, where else am I getting rabbit in ice wine?

Wine by the glass selection was up our alley as we often feel that Old World wines are not offered. Service was great. Loved our evening. But they are not giving it away

The food, the service and the ambiance were stellar. My only issue was with the pre fixe menu. While it’s great to have a pre fixe option, it’s not great when that’s your only option.
Present company makes Connecticut a better place
Enjoyed one of the best dining out experiences my wife and I have had for years. The night before the start of a major snowstorm made the restaurant warm and welcoming. Jeff Lizotte's food is always innovative and this night was no exception. I had seaweed crusted cod followed by a pork belly dish. My wife ordered swordfish. Everything was great. Sitting at the counter in front of the kitchen and watching meals being prepared is great fun.

Present Company always exceeds expectations, and the owners, chefs, wait staff and hosts are as warm and welcoming as the food is delightful.
We try to go here every couple months and it NEVER disappoints. We always do the five course tasting menu and even if there is something on the tasting that you aren’t excited about, they are willing to accommodate. Staff is very friendly, food is off the charts and it’s always a fun experience.
Anyone who doesn’t love this place is not to be trusted.

The food selections were creative and delicious. The prix fixe menu option was absolutely the way to go. It allows you to treat yourself to more than one of the chef's wonderful creations...and the portions were plentiful. The owners were on-site and were very friendly and helpful and our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Put this one on your list!

We have loved Present Company on previous visits, but our last visit of January 9,2019, we were disappointed that our food did not measure up to the exquisite level we have known on all previous visits. We hope it was just a "blip" to the superior quality we have come to know. Our next visit will be telling if Present Company meets the high standards of cuisine we once knew. Prey fixed menu was delicious and the portions were larger than expected. Try to sit at the. Jed’s Table to get the experience of the cooking staff as they prep everyone’s meals. Great experience.

We enjoyed the delicious cuisine. Loved the creativity. Perfect amount of food based on the selections. The short rib was the best I've ever had. The scallops w/mushrooms was delectable. The dessert was so good that I wish it had been a larger serving. The only criticism is the noise level -- the music was definitely too loud. The pastrami octapus and the venison were exquisite. Can't wait to go back.

PCO never fails to impress! There are no words to describe how delicious the food is. Eating the foie gras and black truffle ravioli on New Years was a spiritual experience. Even though I was full after the second course, I couldn’t stop eating and made it through all 6 courses and of course, enjoyed every bite. My sister and I have spent the past two New Years at PCO and we plan to come back for next NYE and for all of our regular visits. LOVE this place!
