It was pretty awful. It took an hour and twenty minutes to get our drinks. Our appetizers and salads came out 20 minutes after our food after we’d asked about them three times. It took almost an hour forty-five to even get the food in the first place. Once the food came, it was flavorless. However, the people were nice.
We wanted a late dinner but didn't realize the kitchen was closed until we got there.
Great little place. Service was a tad bit slow since there was only one server and a manager. Made a reservation but was just told to seat ourselves when we arrived. Luckily a table had just cleared as we walked in.
We were directed to sit upstairs, then completely forgotten about. Left after 15 minutes to patronize a place that valued our business. That meal wasn't great - but it beats being disrespected.
Third time I have been there. Cocktails are good but "NO GARNISHES???" and I asked for a cocktail and they were out of the juice needed when grocery stores are everywhere and it was the beginning of the night. We booked a reservation for 5 and were super excited to finally have a dinner...since the last 2 times the kitchen was already closed at 9PM. We booked at 7pm and were told after given full menus and ordering a charcuteire board that they are unable to prepare any "grilled or fried" items...SO that was pretty much the entire menu. So we made reservations at Elm and Magnolia while finishing our drinks and headed over there for a wonderful dinner experience and awesome live music. Prohibition time to step up your game, I know you potential is there!!
We tried the Prohibition out on a Thursday. Just so happened they have a “special” on that day. It was great and we found the food to be very good. The value for wine an food was excellent. We were able to visit without a lot of noise as well. Had a lovely time and will definitely return.
Nice place good drinks good food, but service was terrible
Great little place. They will smoke your cocktail. Get the godfather Mesquite smoked.
Great drinks....we had several different martinis and a Singapore Sling serveD in a fun ceramic pig glass that made us smile. Pizza was fabulous. Charcuterie board not so much....very generic. Live music was great too and the crowd was very diverse which we loved.
A great new discovery, nice atmosphere, live music, friendly service and fun for our group of friends.
Even though I was able to make reservations it was apparently not something they were familiar with. When we arrived we said we had reservations, they said OH, well that high top over there is available. They did end up seating us at a table, but we waited a good 15 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. I wanted to try someplace new for my husband's birthday. The food was good. Service was pretty poor. Guitarist was good, but for such a small place, the volume could have been turned down some.
We'd go back and give it another shot, but to sit at the bar for appetizer and a drink, not for a special occasion.
We are sorry that your experience was not stellar. PLease ask to speak to Belinda or Effie next time and we will make sure you are well cared for.
Loud music that was not any good. Menu on web page not the menu given us. All in all - Bad experience
We are sorry you have had a bad experience. Please give us another shot and ask for Effie or Belinda if the music is too loud.
Excellent service every visit Food great and chef does great job..Steaks fantastic.and appetizers delish. Good value Thur steak night.
Have to start with the good. The cheese tray was perfect! Drinks were good as well. Dinner was ok but letters felt like very small portions. Had steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and had very small helping potatoes and 6 green beans. Wife had shrimp tacos and had to laff about the amount of little shrimp that seemed counted too. Would go back again for drinks and cheese tray but probably skip dinner.
Small menu but we'll done. Service was minimal, no chat what so ever :-(
Small trendy-hopeful area with VERY limited parking
My husband and I came in at 9 and sat at the bar. We chose this restaurant because it was date night, it was close to our house and they're open until 10. We ordered drinks and asked for a food menu. The bartender told us that she would check and see if they we're still serving food. She came back and said yes but we had to order right then. We just ordered 2 appetizers since it seemed like getting food would be an inconvenience. Food was amazing. One of the best spinach dips I've had. And the pretzel cheese sauce was really good although I do think it should have been mentioned that it had horseradish in it. My husband wasn't a fan. I can't remember the name of the cocktail I got but it was good. We were going to order another round but at 9:27 she told us it was last call. 33 minutes before closing? Then we sat on the patio while my husband finished his beer. A group of ladies came in after that and were served drinks. I would have gotten another $10 cocktail and my husband would have gotten another beer. The restaurant had maybe 3 or 4 tables sat. I understand closing early if it's dead. But you can't last call 2 guests and then change your mind when 3 people walk in. We felt extremely rushed from the beginning. Bartender was nice and polite besides that. We were just turned off and will probably not plan this location for date night again.
Fantastic evening at Prohibition. We went with 2 other couples and had a wonderful evening of fantastic drinks and food. The drinks are always amazing as they put so much detail into each one. This was our first time trying out food here and it did not disappoint. Live music was playing behind us and the artist was great. Overall a wonderful experience.
It was valentines day and they were busy but they just seemed unprepared...they were out of the first 2 things we ordered...and when we finally got the meal we settled for it was cold...drinks were sitting at the bar and watered down by the time we got them. I want them to do well because its close and i love the idea behind the place...but it wasn't a great experience whatsoever
Good food and service. We loved the cigar room. And the drinks are amazing and one of a kind
Very underwhelming. I was disappointed. The steak was grissl mostly not edible. Atmosphere was not what I expected and missed an opportunity.
Phenomenal drinks! Saturday is live music night!✌🏽👍🏼
Great service. About a dozen unique and very upscale drinks prices at $12 that in the Heights would be $20. Small kitchen that can be overwhelmed if several tables order at once. Good quality food.
The food and music were great, with the drinks being top notch!
Nice place for craft cocktails
Overall nice experience. The drinks were fun and mostly tasty. The food was yummy but they have a lot of stuff on the menu that they dont actually serve anymore. It's very small and not much room to squeeze by other people.
Disappointed that the best brunch dishes weren’t available because the chefs were busy putting together a dinner. Had on football game way too loud...didn’t think this was a sports bar. Won’t be back for brunch.
Wonderful and so fun! Our group had the best time and the service was amazing!
My wife and I came in for the ribeye special and craft cocktails. The steak was fine for the price paid, and the sides were pretty good.
However, for a place that wants to be known for their craft cocktails, they really need to have bartenders that:
1. Don't have to refer to the recipe book for every drink
2. Have the ability to create the special features, such as the ice ball
3. Take less than 20 minutes to mix both drinks when the place is less than half-full (and with 2 bartenders)
I could tell that our waiter was frustrated, so I worry about whether they will be able to keep good staff until the bar ups their game.
I'll probably be back, but only after I hear that they have ironed out their issues.
Great drinks and food was good too. We will be back!!
