The salmon shoulder and scallops were wonderfully seasoned and delicious. Our waitress was super helpful and knowledgeable and made for an overall great experience
One of the most amazing dining experiences! The food was incredible... every bite, the wine was a step above and the cocktails! The cocktails... were very impressive. Service and atmosphere were fantastic as well. I highly recommend Quaintrelle to anyone who appreciates a casual and friendly fine dining experience.
Seasonal French inspired food that is creative & served alongside beautiful cocktails in a charming yet modern setting. Great service, beautiful flowers. Great for dates & groups!
Super expérience. Bouffe de haute qualité par rapport au prix.
The food was good but the service was distracted and a bit aloof.
We had a celebratory dinner there on a Sunday. The restaurant has "Happy Hour" menu and prices all day Sunday and the final check was about $40/person including the tip. The dinner was superb. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and steered us into some perfect choices. The salmon collar and head fed 2 people happily. The veggie dishes were off the charts good. When the olive oil cake was not available, the waitress asked the kitchen to make a special dessert, which they did. Definitely above and beyond. Will eat there anytime we are in Portland on a Sunday!
A delightful experience from beginning to end! The service was wonderful. The food was bold and delicious as were the thoughtfully crafted cocktails.
We read the menu online before going. Though this was my husband's birthday pick, I thought it might be more pretentious than substantive and flavorful. While I would recommend a rewrite of the menu, I can't say enough about the food. We did the smaller of the two chef's tasting menus and brought along a special bottle from home. We should have brought a white or rose, but the chef rolled with it and made our beautiful Syrah shine as much as the food. Standout dishes were the oysters, the shrimp, both salmon dishes and the lovely sides (roasted fava beans were so good!) They make a lovely nocino, which I enjoyed with dessert. Go. Order the tasting menu and spend a little on their excellent cocktails. Thank me later.
What's not to like. Food was very good and beautifully presented. Staff was friendly, but knowledgeable and professional. Reasonably priced. Some entrees are on the small side so we added a vegetable entree for the two of us.
The chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing was a great decision! They accommodated my dietary restrictions very well. I will return and have already recommended this place to others.
Three of us for dinner. We each ordered small plates and then also ordered the pricey rib-eye plate ($48) to share as well. The "engineered" salads were the best part, very tasty and imaginative. The rib-eye was not worth the money. It was tasty enough, but way too fatty. Wine list is nice and reasonably priced. This place is good for special occasions.
The 5 dishes our group had (as well as the cocktails and dessert) were amazing .... and the service, top to bottom, was impeccable. Loved this place and will be back!
My friend and I did the tasting menu and every course was seafood. It was good but we would have liked to sample another protein since there were a lot of others on the menu.
Went there for dinner with five of us in our book club. Excellent service, unique and amazing cocktails, delicious food, amazing desserts. Perfect! Thank you!
Service and food were wonderful. We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. The night we went was seafood and vegetable based and every course was explained in detail by the wait staff. A great evening overall. Would highly recommend.
Our dinner experience was excellent. From the inventive tasty cocktails ( I would recommend Shade and Shine) to the delicious entrees, we enjoyed it all. We had the Pork Chops and the Rabbit along with the endive salad. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive but not intrusive. I highly recommend Quaintrelle.
Friends in town. We wanted to show them the best of Portland. Quaintrelle did not let us down.
We came here for our anniversary dinner with high hopes, but left feeling quite disappointed in the food. The ambiance and service were great, but the food just fell flat.
We chose the Chef's Tasting menu thinking we would be wowed since we noticed a wide variety of items on the menu. Our server told us we would probably get 9-10 different items to taste and share. We also shared a wine pairing to go with it all.
The reality was that we got 7 different dishes consisting mainly of bland/slightly over cooked fish and vegetables (a lot of carrots). The only real stars in the lineup were the plate of little gems and the cheesecake (we were given one basic slice to share). The wine pairing was ok. Only standout was the dessert wine - that was super delicious. And I'm not into sweet wines.
Overall, a big let down for our special dinner out and we expected a lot more for about $100 per person. Should have gone elsewhere; like Radar across the street which we love. At least our happy hour there prior to dinner was great. Oh well. Won't be returning.
We've been wanting to try this restaurant since they've opened and after our dinner there, we were disappointed that it took us so long to get in there!! Food was all incredible! Our server had great suggestions and was in tune with what we needed. Food all came out in a reasonable time and with our upstairs seating by the window, we were transformed to memories of great meals in Europe. Book your reservations now!
Steak to share was really great, but the prawns were over cooked and disappointing. Flight of wine was ok & a nice option, service mediocre. Would go back if we weren’t into trying new things on travels.
Excellent food and service!
One of our faves. Outstanding food prepared with care and pride, excellent lineup of beer and wine, and some of the most creative, beautiful, delicious cocktails in town. The staff are lovely, kind, and sincere.
A great experience with really good food.
This was our first time visiting and went for Portland Dining Month. The food was delicious and service wonderful. We learned they have certain wines for 1/2 price on Wednesdays. We will be back.
Excellent as always great food great staff awesome ambiance.
It's Dope.....................................dope indeed.
We all had a great meal with great service. We’ve been before and will come again! Thanks for the wonderful evening out!
Lovely and inventive dishes, especially the scallop. Yum!
Lovely well crated meal
Wait staff was great, particularly Sonia. Food temperature was inconsistent, taste was great.
Both drinks and dinner were exceptional! Well he back!
Very good food and service on Portland Dining Month. Unfortunately the portions were a bit smaller than anticipated.
Always love Quaintrelle. The scallops in garlic butter were good, but the garlic butter was too strong and overpowered everything. Smoked beets—incredible! Dining Month—incredible! Cocktails—always top tier.
We went for Portland dining out month and the 3 courses were exquisite. We might go back at another time when we are in town again, probably on a Sunday when they have happy hour all day. In general it was a little expensive for us, but the food was so good, who cares?
Our experience at Quaintrelle was quite perfect. We enjoyed their Portland Dining Month menu for a birthday celebration and fell in love with every bite. They even surprised us with a delicious piece of flourless chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream for the occasion, candle and all. The flavor combinations, presentation of the dishes, and even the moonshine punch...all so wonderful!
Exquisite - every little thing about our dining experience is covered by that word. We ordered from the PDM menu. For the 1st course we both chose the Oysters with pineapple mignonette, serrano, herb oil and charred lemon - sublime. There were two choices on every course so for the 2nd and 3rd courses we ordered both. 2nd: Hay-smoked butternut squash, onion soubise, pistachio verde, maple and foie gras and Melted leek and potato soup with seeds, crumbs and radish - again spectacular from the presentation, taste, texture every little detail exciting. 3rd: Ricotta dumplings with foraged winter mushrooms, smoked beet “bacon,” fiore sardo and garlic foam and Pork loin with turnip, braised cabbage and sauce aux truffes - every thing I said about the previous courses applies. This is one of the most exciting restaurants we have visited in Portland - and we are great fans of Portland dining and spirits. Run, don't walk to get there while PDM is still in progress.
Fabulous service, great options, unique and delicious food!
Pdx Dining Mo! And teaching my Aunt to get out of her comfort zone
Great ricotta dumplings!
#PortlandDiningMonth - had a great experience. We were the first seating and got a nice spot upstairs. We both got opposite choices for the dining month special. Everything was really good. The pork entree was a bit overwell but still tasty. Did the wine pairing with one of the sets and it accompanied the dish really well. I highly recommend this restaurant and its staff.
