Authentic Japanese ramen comes to Winnipeg!

Ramen Takeuma is owned and operated by Atsushi Kawazu, a Japanese native from Kyoto, who was trained in Japan to make Ramen and will be opening a permanent ramen shop in the near future. Until then, a temporary pop-up event has been started to see how Winnipegers respond to authentic ramen and we conduct market research.

Check Sushi is awesome. Really cares about his food. Definitely hitting up this joint once they open up. Permanent location. If you love ramen, you gotta try this place.

Wow, I can barely put into words how much I enjoyed my dinner and overall experience. We had fantastic, personal and humble service. The value of the meal was outstanding; and the food itself was one of my highlights of the year. I really hope Atshushi manages to open his own space in the city because I could eat this on the regular. Highly recommended.

I can see this concept thriving as a permanent establishment. The food was phenomenal. My greatest takeaway was the quality of service. Each course was brought out by a different person (including the head chef himself!) who explained what we were eating, and they checked in on us throughout the experience without being intrusive. Can't wait for a permanent place to open up.

The people at Ramen Takeuma are plesant, easy to talk to, and go out of their way to make sure your personal service of of the highest quality. They listen when I had mentioned that there was not enough salt for the deep fired chicken on my platter, or when my bowl of ramen was not not salty enough for my liking. If you enjoy Ramen like I do, I highly recommend it. In my opinion, thee best ramen in Canada.

Exceptional second course. Main course of ramen is above average, and with some tweaking could be exceptional. Chef open to feedback, which is critical given the nature of the operation. Extra credit given for the Char-Shu being a good mix of lean and fatty, and offering both hard and soft versions of the Ramen egg.

Great food & service! I said it was a 10 outta 10 to the chef because it was!! So full but it was a good amount of food & very satisfying. Definitely recommend 😊😊
