Food was cold, chicken in the Caesar salad was tough and chewy like it was undercooked, coconut shrimp was cold. Service was lacking and restaurant was icy cold inside

The staff seemed terrified at any request. (And I measure the word ‘terrified’). I think the management there must be extremely hard. I had reserved a wheelchair friendly table for my mom. When we arrived, we were seated at a middle of room table with little passable space for others and no space for the wheelchair and O2 tank. So we asked for a booth, as they were on the sides of the restaurant, out of the way and easier to place my mom’s equipment. The hostess seemed very afraid when we asked if we could move over to another table. She said ‘no, it’s not allowed’. (even though half of the space was available for booths). I asked if she could ask the seating manager at front, to which she froze. So I asked the manager reception lady myself, who was very upset at my request. She first said no in a very sharp way, then instructed me to step aside and wait, she said other booths were reserved, which I could understand, but literally half the seating available was a booth. So we just accepted the big round center table, obstructing the path. We asked if we could put my mom’s equipment somewhere. Our waitress (Stephanie), who was very helpful and friendly said ‘sure, put it next to that empty booth’… so we couldn’t move, but we could put my mom’s equipment next to an empty booth - that stayed, with most of the other booths, free the whole time. Then, whenever we asked for something, like more sweetener to a bus person or runners, you could see they were literally afraid to get more. They would freeze. This to me is a sign of poor management of people. We won’t come back to this location. You could feel the stress. I feel bad for the front line staff in this restaurant.

Frankly, the food was mediocre at best. A waitress was lovely, but could not make up for the lack of options of regular fish and inflated price.

Red Lobster Tucson I hate to sound surprised that we enjoyed Red Lobster in Tucson on Oracle Rd as much as we did, but we don’t normally eat either at Red Lobster specifically or at similar restaurants in the Red Lobster category (to me), so we weren’t expecting it to be as great as it turned out to be! First of all, the service was just great. And I am attentive to and critical of service when there are indeed service issues. Our server was Ashley and she did just an outstanding job. Every detail was attended to, and pleasantly and cheerfully. She was easy to work with and really added to the positive dining experiience. Let’s put it this way - we’ve had much worse service at restaurants in the fine dining category. Ashley was all over sides, menu information, drinks, checking on us, it was all just smooth and easy and pleasant. Now, the food. It was great. I take no issue whatsoever with food quality, taste, or presentation. I had the lobster tail with 12 oz sirloin - both were great. Portion size was really excellent, too. I felt it was a great value, given how good it was. Steak was juicy and flavorful, cooked exactly to temperature requested (medium well in my case); lobster tail was easy to remove from the shell, and buttery and delicious (yes the butter sauce is a nice accompaniment, as are the light, fluffy cheddar biscuits (YUM!!)). Baked potato was even really good, with the salted exterior and all that. And the appetizer was great, too - we had the bacon-wrapped scallops. Sizable scallops, tender and tasty, and nice smoky bacon wrapped around them. They were good! Wine selection was good, too, value there wasn’t bad, and as I mentioned, the value overall to me was great! That’s a lot of food of high quality for a reasonable price in a nice quiet atmosphere where the service is as great as the food. How can you not enjoy that?

Our experience at Red Lobster was very nice but I have now learned that making a reservation on Open Table is not a real reservation at the target restaurant. It only put our name on the expected list and not on the seating until we actually showed up at the restaurant.

Yes, Red Lobster on Oracle Road can be a nice casual date-night spot. The menu focuses on seafood favorites (lobster, shrimp, crab) with shareable starters, signature cocktails and a solid wine list, which makes it easy to build a special meal. Expect a relaxed, celebratory vibe rather than fine dining; some guests praised excellent service and memorable meals, though a few noted the atmosphere could use updating. For a smoother experience, consider an evening reservation and ask about quieter seating.

For a more relaxed visit, midweek or weekday lunch is a smart choice, the restaurant offers weekday lunch specials and tends to be quieter then. Evenings, weekends and holidays (especially Christmas Eve/Day) can be busier, though some guests had smooth experiences with reservations. If you prefer a festive vibe, try evenings or special-event nights.

Yes, the restaurant accepts requests (seating, accommodations, group arrangements) and recommends calling ahead for large parties (11+). Note a guest reported an issue when moving a wheelchair reservation, so calling in advance and confirming your request with a manager can help ensure it’s handled smoothly.

They have been open on holidays in guest reports, several guests noted dining on Christmas Eve and finding the restaurant open on Christmas Day, but holiday hours can vary. Call ahead to confirm holiday hours before you go.

Midweek (Tuesday–Thursday) is a good bet for fewer crowds and weekday deals, while Mondays–Fridays feature rotating daily specials that can offer good value. If you want a festive atmosphere, weekends and holiday specials are lively but busier. Check the daily deals menu for weekday-specific savings.

Yes, families and celebrations are common here. Several guests mentioned family meals and birthday gatherings. The menu has shareable starters and many approachable items kids often enjoy (fried seafood, pasta, biscuits). For younger children, consider an early seating and call ahead if you need high chairs or special accommodations.

Portions at this Red Lobster tend to be generous and shareable. Guests specifically praised large entrees and value, one guest called portion size “really excellent” for steak and lobster, and the menu features combo meals (Ultimate Feast®) and large platters meant for sharing. Expect full entrées with sides and plenty for leftovers or splitting.

The ambience is casual and celebratory, Red Lobster markets itself as a fun-but-elevated seafood spot good for special occasions or casual meals. Guests’ experiences vary: many praised friendly, attentive service and pleasant meals, while a few noted the decor could use updating or that staff seemed stressed. Overall it’s relaxed and family-oriented with a lively, festive tone on busy nights.

Yes, the location uses a seating list and accepts online reservations, but one guest noted OpenTable can add your name to the expected list rather than holding a specific table until you arrive. Expect a wait during peak times or holidays; calling ahead can help and arriving a bit early may smooth check-in.

Casual dress is appropriate, the restaurant lists a casual dress code, so comfortable, casual attire works well for dining here.
