                It would have been fine for an average mid tier bar but it’s not ok what the website positions it as. It doesn’t reach the mark of an elevated bistro restaurant-bar. The decor is very nice but everything else needs work. Service was awkward and inconsistent. Salmon was overcooked and side was not memorable at all. Steak was rubbery and not medium rare that I ordered. The fries were delicious but everything else on our plates was disappointing.

                Nous y avons été à l'aube de mes 40ans. Le menu de la table d'hôte nous faisait de l'oeil, avant même que nous arrivions à l'hôtel Le Mortagne, où nous avons séjourné pour la fin de semaine. Pendant que nous étions en route vers l'hôtel, nous avions reçu un appel nous suggérant de déplacer l'heure de notre réservation afin que nous ayons assez de temps pour bien manger, sans nous presser. Ce fût une belle attention! Arrivés sur place, la même personne qui nous avait contacté nous a chaleureusement accueillis et nous a laissé choisir notre table pour la soirée. La prise en charge ensuite était rapide et conviviale, par notre serveuse. Des cocktails, aux entrées, des repas principaux aux desserts, tout était exquis! Ce qui nous a vraiment impressionné, c'est la cuisson du poulet rôti, avec sa peau croustillante et sa chair tendre et juteuse, les mini mille-feuille de pomme de terre, la purée de maïs accompagnée de pleurottes, ainsi que le décadent cube de chocolat noir et caramel. Un vrai régal. Les portions étaient servies de manière à ce qu'à la fin de la table d'hôte, nous soyons satisfaits. La nourriture, le service, la terrasse, l'accueil, valent le détour, même lorsqu'on ne séjourne pas à l'hôtel! Nous avons également remarqué, le samedi soir, qu'il y a un dj sur place, ce qui est un plus et dont on profitera certainement la prochaine fois!
