Located on China Street just to the west of St Nicholas Arcades, Sabai Thai is one of Lancaster’s preeminent Thai street food eateries. The name itself, sabai means relaxation in Thai, and certainly if you’re after a casual but high-quality Southeast Asian meal characterised by the type of cookery you find in the thousands of food stalls scattered across major centres in Thailand, this is the place to go. Located on China Street, close to the junction with Market Street and just a lemongrass stem’s throw from Lancaster Castle, Sabai Thai is a great spot in the town centre to refuel after a day of sightseeing or browsing the shops. The Sabai duck spring rolls are a glorious entree to a menu studded with bold and often street-spicy dishes. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and a separate list of luxurious red snapper and king prawn dishes besides the seafood mains.
