food was amazing and authentic. staff was kind and courteous. a good local restaurant to go
The food was great - a bit of a problem with our reservation. We'll be back.
Great variety of menu items. Love the food! Cozy dining area.
It started out amazing. Attentive and server came by multiple times. Then entrees came and then, barely any service. Check came out by original server without asking for dessert. When told to server we’d like dessert, two desserts ordered, one came out. Then check came back out by a different server, still waiting for second dessert, he went back in with check and another long wait. Third time check came back, with original server, no dessert and now we’re upset, so we cancel the dessert verbally of dessert that never was put in by the original server. It was Father’s Day and super upset that it was not a good first experience.
Cat was a wonderful server! We went for a late birthday celebration and early Father’s Day, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We started with Zucca! and another appetizer, all the pastas and my salmon were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed the Oreo cookie gelato & chocolate soufflé, too!
Food was good. Table was horrible. Tiny chairs and no space for our family of 5 seated right next to the kitchen. Super small space. Food was excellent, but maybe next time we do takeout
We were sat pretty quickly and were given water within the first few minutes of arriving. Then we sat for 15 minutes until I finally got up and asked the hostess if someone could take our drink order. By the time we got our bottle of wine, we had been there 30 minutes! We finally got bread. Nice of them to finally drop off 3 pieces of bread at a table of 5.
When our food finally came, it was delicious. Getting dessert also took quite awhile. They need more servers. When I spend over $300 on a Thursday night with the family, I expect much better service. Not sure I’ll be back. Plenty of other restaurants in Laguna.
Great food and service was a little slow. Had reservations at 7:30 did n to get seated until 7:50.
Salerno was fantastic. One of the best Italian restaurants we have ever been to. From the Zucca to the salsa verde to the main courses to the deserts, all were delicious. First time there and will definitely return
Alessandro never disappoints, love their consistency on the food and service.
Had all types of eaters and everyone found something that they loved. When you sit down order the fried olives immediately!
Red Wines are stored improperly and served at almost 70 degrees. Destroys expensive fine wines.
Overall a great place for fresh Italian It is noisy for a conversation indoors. There is outdoor sitting next to sidewalk. Food was delicious but it took one hour to get the minestrone soup because kitchen had to make a new batch. The waiter didn’t communicate there would be a delay and I ended up eating my meal before my wife got any food. The pasta tasted fresh and they even have home made gluten-free pasta.
Great food, friendly atmosphere, the lobster pasta and homemade soup were delicious!
Wonderful date night with my wife. Great service and the food was exceptional. Highly recommend Salerno's for dinner.
Great go to local restaurant
I ordered the lamb over pappardelle and it was fabulous! Highly recommended!
Everything was amazing. Our server was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us some great recommendations. And the food was wonderful. Great meal from start to finish.
Loved my meal-a grilled salmon in pasta-so delicious with a beautiful presentation.
Absolutely a Master Chef.
Attention beyond given to Food Quality, Presentation, staffing & cleanliness
You are treated as if you are in Chef Pirozzi family.
Ambiance straight out of Florence or Tuscany.
Amazing experience and the food was incredible. They made our ladies night perfect. Already planning when we can go back.
Brought my tweens for an early outdoor dinner and it was awesome!
Cozy neighborhood feeling. Dolce Gabbana Ravioli was delicious! Felt like we were returning to pre COVID time period.
Pretty much everything went wrong for the Mother's day dinner.
We ordered Cioppino that was full of sand. Every bite, we were eating literary sand. So we politely sent it back. After that, our server started taking long time to serve our table. He seems to liking chat with customers (not so much with us tho.) After our meal, we probably wait more than 30 min to get our bill. We waited 15 min for him to pick up the tab with credit card, then we didn't want to waste anymore time so left cash. We did not want to leave tips more than a few bucks, but he got 15% because we didn't have exact to leave.
To be served at a restaurant, I do not expect extravaganza services but adequate. When a dish was prepared inappropriately and sent it back, then I expect to be served nothing else goes wrong. The restaurant is very small, and there was a few server that night. So he wasn't running to serve over assigned tables. I did not know why he has to take such a long time to do each step of our dining process.
Neither less to say, I will not return nor recommend the restaurant.
biggest scammers in Laguna Beach Open Table gave 60.00 open table reservation to use my 5000 points restaurant got paid by them and us waitress very rude there are plenty of great Italian restaurants in Laguna Beach but not this one
This is our go to in Laguna for real family Italian. Atmosphere and service never disappoints. Things were a little out of sync this night and had to wait for a table. Knowing from many past evenings that this is not normally the case, we were patient and enjoyed our anniversary dinner.
Love love love
Food was overpriced and mediocre, was alot better before new owner took over.
First meal out in
a year with a fellow vaccines friend !
Great food as always. Small issue handled quickly and nicely by staff. Never had a bad experience here; one of our favorite spots.
The food was delicious and our waitress was super friendly and helpful (I’m indecisive)! Definitely would recommend
Service was not good but food was better than average
So great! Delicious food and excellent service.
Fabulous as usual! This is a great restaurant with such outstanding service and yummy delicious food and desserts
Chef Pirozzi’s Salerno Ristorante is our favorite spot in Laguna Beach. We like Alessa too, but Salerno’s is our favorite. The food is always delicious and they have a nice reasonably priced selection of wine either by the glass or bottle. I love the 50/50 but the Lamb was amazing last Saturday. It’s all good and is as close as we can get to Italy at the moment. To top it off, our server, Larissa is the best!
I was expecting a lot more flavor and authentic Italian food. The bread basket was too small of a portion for 5 people but, the olive oil for dipping was pretty good. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and there was a hair on a small piece so we just put it aside a gave it a try anyways. It had no flavor but, it was good quality calamari and a good portion amount. The food wasn’t too bad but basic for the price. The utensils and plates were worn out and didn’t look good on the table. The server and staff were pretty nice and attentive. Won’t be returning.
Super romantic and charming atmosphere! Incredible food, family style.
Wonderful food and the chef was so personable. He made sure our evening was special.
Everything was good except the waitress that I was expecting to have a nicer friendlier attitude she was fast cutting me off when I asked her questions couple of times and have some attitude. We went there for my husbands birthday on April 9th. We live locally and that makes be hesitate to go back there again for a special event like that.
Delicious food with a beautiful presentation. So pleased they now have outdoor seating to enjoy the weather and people watch.
