About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for outdoor dining
  • Fancy
San Laurel, from Michelin-starred chef José Andrés at the Conrad Los Angeles, builds a culinary bridge between the Iberian Peninsula and Southern California. Using the freshest sustainable produce from local farmers' markets in Los Angeles, our cuisine marries bold, beautiful Spanish flavors with the bounty of the Golden State. Named for the aromatic bay laurel, itself a transplant from the Mediterranean to coastal California, San Laurel's inspiration stretches from Spain to the glimmering shores of the Pacific.

Michelin-starred chef, José Andrés @chefjoseandres newest gem in the heart of the city✨ Honestly, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in Los Angeles. There was no miss on the menu, but can’t stop thinking about their Fennel Soup 🥣 and Huevos El Camino 💐🍳. Highly recommend! 🥹Oh and the views of the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Sign make it even more special. 📍 San Laurel @sanlaurelbyjose (inside of Conrad LA) 100 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012 🍷 SAVE this for your next date spot Spanish flavors with fresh California’s ingredients Downtown LA • LA dining #sanlaurelbyjoseandrés #LAfoodies#DTLAeats

Unfortunately, this experience was not our best time at the San Laurel. The food was not well prepared, the eggs and mushrooms were rubbery and the bread needed to be refreshed. Typically, the San Laurel is a treat and a part of our date day before the Opera.

Great meal, good service, had kind of an awkward large table for only 5 ppl but had a cool view of the kitchen if you're into that. Other parts of the restaurant have more ambience.

The Waygu steak and the duck breast were truly outstanding. The gem lettuce somewhat less so.

We were there for over an hour but our dinner was never served. The waitress said our food will not be ready in time and she brought the bill for one salad and a bottle of water; we left without having dinner in order not to miss the show across the street.

What a find! San Laurel is a stunner. Located on the 10th floor of the Conrad hotel directly across from the majestic Disney Concert Hall, this hidden Juan Andres gem does not disappoint. The food is amazing, the service impeccable, and the outdoor patio with its views of the Music Center and skyline provides a cozy, fresh setting. If it's a chilly evening, there are heaters and the staff are happy to bring blankets. It's a bit spendy, which is not surprising, but if you are looking for a special spot for dinner, make a reservation.
