Everything about Our experience at Sassetta was what we anticipated except our Server. If it were not for the other 2 servers floating around I would severely question the guest experience. Our greeting was literally,” Still or Sparkling?” Then “I’ll be right back”.. a blonde bearded server kindly refilled our water and chatted us up in a friendly genuine manor. We asked if we could order. Our order was taken without questions. Another female server brought our food; the same one who brought us cracked pepper for our salad: that was not offered upon arrival. Seems standard to offer pepper. We had to order bread. It was never offered or explained how that process works at Sassetta. The food was great, we had no doubt. We will be back. It wasn’t so much that our service was the bare minimum, but more so that after I asked for the bill and payed; that when the server brought the check back, I said “ thank you” and as she walked away all she said was,” You’re Welcome”
Thank you Sassetta for doing me the favor of letting me have a quick lunch at your establishment. I wanted our experience to be memorable for the food, instead it was overshadowed by the service. But we know that it is Not Representative of your staff as we experienced attentiveness from 2 others that I think truly reflects what you want your staff to convey to the diner.
We will be back...no offense taken. We will start w the octopus and some wine.... and a different server for sure
Great food and service!
Monday 1/2 price wine and pizza very nice, food generally quite good. Reasonable parking.
Just returned from Rome and Florence and it is as good and in most cases better than the food in the big cities. Best lasagna anywhere! And they speak English :)
The kitchen brought us an appetizer which I thought was so nice since our server knew it was a first date! Great thinking on customer service!
great place in the design district for lunch and dinner
I ordered the frittata and is was scrumptious. It had a small salad on the plate and it was fresh with light dressing. My friend had ricotta and bread with tomato soup. She said it was really good as well. The waiter was attentive. It is a very nice restaurant and really like the decor. I have been there several times and it is always really good.
My friend and I had a great week-day lunch catching up on a year of memories. The entire staff was "just right." They were friendly, helpful, not intrusive, but there when you needed them. On top of that, I lost my pin, and they have it for me in the safe!! How great is that?!
Not only is the food delicious, the wine list of Italian wines is extensive. The recommended wine for the evening was an excellent Barolo at a very reasonable $.
Sassetta never disappoints!
What a terrific date night! The food was FANTASTIC! The service was top notch too. We will be back - SOON!
Food was delicious
Each time I eat here I like it better. Everything in this meal was fantastic. The octopus was the best I have had anywhere. The only negative was our server went MIA but she comped us dessert to make up for it and was very apologetic. The noise level made it easy to have a normal conversation at the table in spite of a large crowd. This is something rare at a Dallas restaurant these days.
I LOVE Sassetta. Another fantastic meal!
Best meal in Dallas in a long time. Our server, Mark, had some great recommendations, so we pretty much let him choose our dinner. The carne crudo was probably the most interesting, but everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Sassetta was a great place to go and share a meal with a friend in a fun atmosphere. There is a great menu with great food options!
Really great food and fantastic service! We had the frito misto and pasta. It was delicious! The pasta was cooked perfectly and well-seasoned (not too salty). We ended with the lemon cake, which was a perfect way to finish the meal. This is good place if you're looking for quality meal with great service.
On Monday’s they offer half off all glasses of wine and $10 pizza deals. We got two pizzas and both were very good! We will definitely want back!
3rd time here was not a charm.
They poured 1/2 glasses of wine for full glass price.
(and waiter argued when it was brought up)
Food was just ok.
Walk across to Wheelhouse for much better service & food.
I love Sassetta because even though I am a mother and grandmother I like having a place to go that is elegant and quiet with exceptional food and no kids.
Very casual/comfortable with nice staff. I had a yummy bacon pizza. My friend loved her gnocchi. Nice
wines by the glass.
Enjoyed Sunday Brunch and found the food, service and ambiance to be outstanding. Would recommend and will definitely go back. Easily accessible and good parking as well.
All I can say is that our brunch experience was as close to perfection as you could want.
Make a reservation today!!
Pizzas and arugula salad with perfectly roasted chicken breast—delicious as always. The wine director helped us with a Fantastic wine at a great price point. Sassetta never disappoints.
If crack came in cheese form, it would be the whipped ricotta starter here. Had the roasted carrots and the goat cheese pasta that were original and delicious. Highly recommend Sassetta
Really enjoyed the food and wine. Only negative was the loudnes of the large that sat next to us halfway through the meal. Finding the front door was an experience.
Great food, great service, very nice staff.
Our experience got off on the wrong foot when, despite having a reservation, they initially seated us in the bar area as I peered out at the quarter full dining room. To then feel like we were putting the host staff out by requesting a table in the dining room brought me to the edge of simply walking out. Fortunately, we did not leave. They seated us in the dining room and from that point on the food and service was excellent.
The food was OUTSTANDING- every thing is made to order! And, with the direction of our amazing server Mark, we tried several dishes outside of our normal choices. My husband wouldn't even split an entree with me because he wanted it all for himself. Only down note would be the "corporate" manager on duty- she was just that- corporate. We stopped her to compliment the food and most especially Mark, and we received a canned response that was not heart-felt. Good thing we only had interface with her one time. Mark and everything else were perfection!
Music is always so loud. Otherwise, it's an awesome place!
Not the best service. Our waitress was inattentive The pizza was good, the fish was “fishy”. Atmosphere is fun!
I’ve been here twice and wasn’t disappointed. It’s absolutely delicious and I’m a picky eater! Our favorite is the Burnt Honey pizza. The lasagna and meatballs are delicious as well. I love the look and the intimacy of the space and the service is great as well. This is at the top of out list for special occassions or treating ourselves to a nice dinner! It’s one of my favorites in all of Dallas!
Food, service, ambiance all exquisite. In my top two restaurants in the Metroplex.
one of the best lunch spots in Dallas.
(great for dinner too!)
Everything was very good. Our server knew her stuff and her wine recomendation was spot on.
We had a couple of the small plates and the fish entre all were well done. We will be back.
The food was great and very freshly creative. The wine was delicious ~ a pinot grigio. The ambiance was fun and a lot going on during dinner. The outside dining shared with another restaurant is great. The outdoor sitting areas and overall feel is great. Server was knowledgeable and so upbeat. Thanks for this restaurant!
Sassetta has a fun vibe, but our meals just weren’t yummy, as we had been promised they’d ould be by friends who sent us. The wait staff was perfectly nice, and we want to try Wheelhouse, but there is too much good pasta in town to eat mediocre pasta.
I was celebrating my birthday with friends and once again Sassetta did not disappoint. The food was fantastic - my favorite is their mafaldine - and the ambience and service was terrific as always.
Best Italian cuisine we have found in Dallas. The pizza-oven treatment of the lasagna is especially creative and tasty. The pappardelle is another favorite and the mushroom salad is a great starter. With the extensive wine list and drinks from both Sassetta and Wheelhouse, you are well taken care of.
Pasta plates should be bigger per the cost, but really liked the meatballs and wine.
Excellent food. Table are a bit small but the experience was outstanding especially for the price.
