As usual a perfect experience !
Really nice cocktails and service . Pricey but worth it for special occasion
Outstanding food, drink, and service! Worth the drive!
Our first time there. The food was delicious. We started with crispy artichokes & meatballs, then veal milanese & mouth watering filet. Rather pricey.
Met with friends to have a relaxing dinner and looked forward to trying some of their homemade pastas and gelato. Menu had recently changed - enjoyed the beet salad with whipped goat cheese, salmon with dried tomatoes - 4 grains- chickpea smear, classic bolognese, black fettuccini with seafood, and Dover sole special. Dessert included vanilla and mango gelato with a ginger cookie. Enjoyable evening!
My sister-in-law is a vegetarian and highly demanding of restaurants and the food that is served. She loved the various options, especially that there were gluten free options and several choices of fin fish. She loved the great selection of cocktails and after-dinner drinks. You hit this one out of the part for her, and she is very, very hard to please. Great work.
Went for the fabulous souffle. It was advertised on their website as being served New Year's Eve. It was, unfortunately, not on the menu. I was extremely disappointed. The veal chop picante was overly cheesy, and pounded way too thin. It dried out the meat. It's a shame to do that to a large veal chop. The meat was very difficult to cut, the breading came off with all the sawing I had to do, and the table was jiggly, making the whole situation a mess. I ended up bringing dinner home. My husband's venison was almost raw. It was such a small portion it looked like a sushi roll. My dinner would have fed two lumberjacks! Nothing special on the tables to commemorate the occasion like other restaurants we've been to have provided on New Years eve. Would suggest smaller, square tables so couples can talk across them, and not have to listen to the couples next to them. Tablecloths might help the sound problem. The baffles in the ceiling do not.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and food as it was our first time going there.
It was pricey but reasonable for a fancier experience or occasion.
Wish there were more vegetarian options in the pasta category and in general as I had to order three appetizers for my dinner. But loved everything and the service was exceptional and we went to celebrate for New Years and would do it again next year.
My boyfriend and I ate here the other night for my birthday. The food was wonderful and the staff was great. I would highly recommend this place to a friend.
Outstanding service. This is a 5 star experience from start to end. Wait staff was friendly and helpful
The food was well-seasoned and enjoyable. The people in my party really enjoyed the bread. The only thing was that we were never told about the specials for the night, but we later heard another server tell a table by us about the specials.
Good food and great service. John, our waiter, was very attentive and professional.
Exceptional. One of the best restaurants in the area with a very creative chef.
I was quite disappointed with my experience at Savona on 12/15/18. I had made the reservation to celebrate a birthday and was underwhelmed by the quality of service and command of the room. Our server seemed to be going in too many directions to be able to keep track of our order. We started the meal with a dozen oysters which took nearly 20 minutes to arrive and ended up being delivered after our salads. When the salads and oysters were cleared our silverware was taken as well and not replaced. This made it difficult to begin our entrees when they were served. The quality and taste of the food was pretty good, but the service was greatly lacking.
From an environment perspective, this was a terrible experience. There was a table near us that was loud and rude. It was to a point that the couple next to us left without ordering meals. Coming from a background in restaurants, this should have been a red flag that there was an issue. A manager should have been able to identify this and address the issue by asking the loud table to tone down their conversation to respect the rest of the diners.
Very disappointed with our experience this time. We were seated 30 minutes before our cocktails finally arrived. Two of our entrees (veal milanese) we’re over cooked, but managed to arrive to the table lukewarm, one over seasoned, one under. Server was overwhelmed and inattentive.
We had a 7:30pm reservation and
One of the Best restaurants in the area. I sent my Aunt and Uncle there to celebrate his Birthday. It was an outstanding evening they had and shared together. The restaurant has an amazing staff and delicious food.
The food was wonderful, the ambience was great, and the staff was very attentive. I loved eating here and would come back again.
Only negative was the parking situation. It's not clearly indicated that the parking behind the restaurant is valet-only, so I was trapped into using it because I couldn't back out or turn around. When we finally went to leave, it probably took us about 15 minutes to get my car from the valet. Next time, I'll just park across the street behind the Sunoco to avoid the hassle.
Horrible service. Tables all around seated after us served first. Server "forgot" our app, brought amuse bouche from chef 30 min after sitting at table. Entrees good but one clearly sat under the lights. Asked for manager, he arrived, listened, acknowledged service issues, offered to pay for check. Check arrived, no adjustment and mgr nowhere in sight. Don't even get me started about the overwhelmed valet stand....
Outstanding restaurant - seafood and pasta's are exceptional
Celebrated my birthday and had one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my 22 years! The waiter and sommelier were both attentive, personable and knowledgeable and the ambiance and quiet and romantic. Will visit again!
Made reservation for our Anniversary, yet not one mention of "Thank you for having your Anniv dinner with us". Most restaurants do comp a little dessert which isn't what I was expecting, but with no mention, it felt like just a regular Sat night dinner. The appetizers were brought out all at once and the entrees were brought out immediately, so we felt very rushed. We wanted to sit, talk, drink and relax while we had the apps, but it was like they were waiting around the corner with the entrees and boom, they were in our face. The food was not timed very well.
Service was inadequate for a high end restaurant . Seemed disorganized and inattentive
Restaurant was cold -
Awesome meal! Every dish was delicious with vibrant flavors!
A must go to, will definitely be back! ..... looking forward to trying the pizza!
We had salmon with chick peas, thought we were taking a risk BUT OH MY...
it was soooo good !!
I was absolutely amazed with the service and atmosphere inside. The food was delicious as well and I am looking forward to going again.
I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time and we finally made the effort. I was unbelievably impressed by every single part of our meal. I am really looking forward to going back
Savona never disappoints. Great wine list and the veal special was absolutely delicious.
I have been dining at Savona for 10 years, experiencing its varing images. Their most recent menu change is a win in my opinion. Very focused menu that is well executed and consistent. The artichoke soup and branzino are particular favorites. I’m pleased that the bar has returned to the top notch level I had grown to love. Papi, the head mixologist, creates a warm and friendly bar environment enhanced by his inventive cocktails.
Pretentious. Food tasteless. Service inconsistent. atmosphere confused.
The appetizers and the main courses were very good and the service was excellent.
The desert was flat and felt like an afterthought
Overall beautiful restaurant and a great bar.
STAFF, Waiters, and all persons were elegantly appointed, and responded to all of our requests. Our flower delivery was placed on the table. Best bolognese and pizzacin area. Very professional and a worthy find for foodies!
Classy restaurant, excellent service and very good food. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion or date night.
Out with my husband for dinner. Outstanding meal . Only complaints were that we were started by door which was a little on chilly side and servers came to table almost too much.
I was underwhelmed by the food which historically has been very good. I love the ambiance of eating at the bar and friendly service but the food was below average. My wife had the cacio e pepe and not good - the pasta was drenched in a flavorless sauce and my veal Milanese was flavorless and very dry.
We had a wonderful, relaxed, delicious dinner. It was sort of slow paced, but we were celebrating a birthday and not in a rush. The fresh pasta and baked bread are worth the trip.
Service was amazing and ambiance is beautiful. We really wanted to like this restaurant, but the food was just okay and with so many other great restaurants in the area, we just weren't in love with the overall taste.
Limited brunch menu. Ok selection, did notice my burger was missing the bacon till half way through so did not mention it. flourless brownie was the hit, would have enjoyed it more if coffee was served with it.
Would have enjoyed the jazz band had they not stopped playing shortly after we arrived. Wish they had the chocolate soufflé back on the menu, was a favorite.
Great food. Impeccable service. Guests from New York were incredibly impressed.
Tried dining solo at the bar since my wife was with her girlfriends for a shore weekend. Barman Papi made a Manhattan to my specifications. The PEI oysters on half shell were very tangy, or maybe it was the mignonette. Sauteed spinach cooked just right, stems still a little crunchy but not too much. Generous amount. Pappardelle Bollognese - sauce very good. Pasta cooked right but seemed like lasagna noodles cut lengthwise. They should just get the best pappardelle from Severino’s in Westmont NJ. Silky ribbons.
Papi suggested a red wine for meal and it was wonderful. Generous pour, which it should be for $20.
I was able to observe the interaction among staff. Everyone was in good spirits and lots of friendly banter. A good sign. I will return.
