Family dinner with grandchildren. Restaurant. It busy and service excellent. Food not as good as other times. Pasta not hot and another choice was just average. Would try something else when we return.
It was my first time there and I was pleasantly surprised! I loved the ambiance (except for an out of place tv by the bar visible still to dining room). The decor is great and the service outstanding. Friendly staff and very attentive! The food was delicious 😋. I can’t wait to come back. I didn’t know about this restaurant until I went on OpenTable. Great choice! Sophisticated and comfortable.
appetizer came cold twice..
main course had not arrived after 45 minutes...
We wanted to try a new place and the Scotty's menu looked good. We went for the first time on Sat night. Restaurant has a nice bar area and the dining area is attractive. Food and service were good. Three of us had burgers and the fourth had chicken parmigiana. No complaints. However, the dining experience is a whole other story. Every seat in the restaurant was taken and it was almost impossible to have a conversation. The acoustics are terrible. By the end of the evening my throat was hurting from shouting at the person seated next to me. Forget about trying to talk to the person across from me. We will not be going again.
Beautiful restaurant and good food. Love the big open space, but the drawbacks are that’s it’s really noisy and there’s no privacy. Wait staff are friendly and accommodating.
It was my husband’s birthday, I requested for a slice of chocolate cake as a surprise after dinner. They gave it as complimentary! Great food & excellent service! The only thing we didn’t like was the lighting, pretty dark inside. But it’s a great place to eat.
First visit to the new Scotty's. Been to the one in Ft Sheridan many times. Food was equally good, service not quite as good. Doing very well for a new establishment, however.
Not a negative to be had! Great food and service our waiter was helpful and friendly. I will definitely be going back
Service was great and I love the decor and vibe of the restaurant. Beet salad was delicious. Gluten free crust tasted like “freezer”... this kind of killed the otherwise delicious concept of the white pizza.
We were seated promptly. Service was great. Food was plentyful and delicious.
It was noisy, but everything else was perfect.
I was expecting a new casual and good dining experience and that's not exactly what we got. Some food was excellent the chicken milanese the ribs and the burger but the trout was less than tasty and the service was not up to par. I cant reccomend this restaurant although I really wanted to.
The restaurant décor is very nice. I would have rated as a 5 but for 2 items. 1. Music is way too loud. 2. There was a smell of "fish" I thought I was in a fish house because of the odor.
The waiter was very kind but we had to ask for refill of our beverages water/diet coke. There were only 2 other tables with guests so it was not that they were busy and it appeared he was the only waiter.
I will go back as the food was good but hope the establishments reads the comments of these reviews and looks into the items that were mentioned.
This was our first time at Scotty's and we really enjoyed it! Juan was awesome - very attentive to our needs. I had the ribs and loved them - the BBQ sauce was a perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The Greek Chopped Salad was great as well. Can't wait to go back!
Service was poor: drinks missing garnishes, side dishes forgotten, dirty plates left on table. Food was okay; however, the roasted beet salad was made with canned sliced beets, the French onion soup tasted like canned soup and was very salty, and the crab cake was heavy on filler and light on crab. The chicken and vegetables dish was excellent and the wedge salad was very good.
Great atmosphere and delicious food!!! We had a wonderful time!
Cool atmosphere. Everything that we ordered was great. From the calamari app to dessert and everything in between, we were impressed. 5:30 reservations, no wait. It was pretty busy by the time we left at 7:15.
This is a relatively new restaurant in Vernon Hills. Great ambiance and classy decor. Very good menu with all sorts of contemporary food options including a variety of salads, sandwiches, burgers as well as pasta, fish, and steaks. The service was very good and the food was delicious. I was there for lunch and plan to come back for dinner. I didn't know but apparently, this restaurant has another location in Highwood.
There were 6 of us it was ok thought very expensive for what we got!!! One drink no apts it was over $50 a person! Too much for what we got! Just ok not great!!! Place was not busy it was during the Wk!!! Don’t think I’ll go back
Good food, service and atmosphere. Very nice to sit down with white table cloths and order from a menu for lunch. The prices are reasonable and a good variety to choose from. I will definitely go back and recommend.
It's great to have this caliber of restaurant in the neighborhood. The food was great. The noise level is too much and the kitchen flow needs to be a bit better, but will definitely give it another try.
Food was good but food took a long time to get after we ordered.
We dined at Scotty's on a Saturday evening. We arrived early, around 5, and had no problem being seated immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive. Upscale, sophisticated yet casual ambiance. The food is outstanding!! We started with large mussels in a white wine/butter/garlic sauce. My husband and I ordered the whitefish special,...the fish was fork-tender and perfectly cooked with an amazing sauce. We also had the bacon wrapped scallops - of course anything wrapped in bacon is nirvana - the scallops were large and tender. There were some delicious looking desserts on the menu as well, but we were full at that point. We'll definitely dine here again!
Food is always excellent!
This was my first time at Scotty's on 21. I was expecting a sports bar by its name, but it is a real gem - tablecloths on the table and a quiet ambiance. Our wait staff was very attentive. I had the Turkey Meatballs with White Beans and Kale and really enjoyed it. I want to return and try other menu items. I recommend this restaurant.
We were there to celebrate a birthday. We enjoyed a great lunch with great service. Special touch was a delicious piece of cake delivered to our table. We have been to Scotty’s in Highwood many times, will definitely go back to the “new” Scotty’s in Vernon Hills also.
We had eaten at Scotty's in Highwood which served appetizing food with good service.
Scotty's Libertyville was sub-par.
The Libertyville service was excellent as we were one of only two groups for a full service meal at 6:30 p.m. on 10/3.
The mussels with red sauce were chewy; the red sauce too thick to cover the spaghetti.
The salmon sandwich and the turkey burger sandwich were so unappetizing; they looked as if they could have been served in a vending machine and all the kitchen did was to remove the plastic wrap.
The turkey burger was very thin; the salmon was broken in 4 thin pieces.
The ribs were dry.
We were terribly disappointed and will not return.
Outstanding service and wonderful food! You won't be disappointed with the ambiance and beautiful decor. This place is truly a gem and surprisingly sophisticated for a neighborhood restaurant in a strip mall.
The Candian Walleye Pike was outstanding. Of the party of 5, 3 of us had the Pike and all thought it fantastic.
As this was the first time that we had eaten at this location we had some difficulty finding it, but when my wife walked in. while I parked the car Francisco found a table for us even though we were about 40 minutes late. The food was, as usual excellent, my wife had the Walleye, which was a special and I had the Pork Chops.
It was our anniversary and I read about Scotty's on 21 in Vernon Hills opening up a few weeks ago. We knew nothing about it be were very pleasantly surprised. It was a nice atmosphere and the food was excellent. We both ended up having fish that was very good. The service was really great. We will go back. We went early. We understand it can get crowded later so I would recommend a reservation.
Do not use open table to reserve your table you will be waiting more than hour to get a table call first but than Young lady at the front desk won’t pick up incoming calls her excuse I’m busy
I don’t know how it was because we had a reservation at 7:45 and and when it was 8:30, we hadn’t been seated. The group also waiting with a reservation since 7:15 wasn’t too thrilled. We left and walked in to another restaurant that was a lot less noisy and had a positive vibe. The food did look good, but guess we will never try it. I did deal bad for the hostess because people were getting very mad at her and calling her names. It’s not her fault people weren’t getting seated. Shame on the owner or manager for NOT coming up and explaining the situation to the irate customers.
A 6p reservation. I spoke to the hostess at 7p and was told that it would be another 20 minutes. I went to the bar and met a couple who had a 6:30p reservation, but were still waiting. We left and had a nice dinner elsewhere in town. Horrible service, inadequate attention to detail.
This Friday night they accepted too many reservations so had to wait an hour for table even though we had a reservation. Service was efficient and friendly.... just having opening hiccups!
Extremely Chaotic evening.
A 7:00PM Open Table Reservation and do not get seated until 8:15PM was just a start of a terrible experience.
One hour wait with reservation and noise level was ear splitting.
When we first arrived we waited 10 minutes than asked if we could order drinks. A server finally came and took our order but it still took another 10 mins to get our drinks. The food was ok and it was super loud.
Our server once he knew he was our server was great but it was like he and one other guy were everywhere. Besides taking care of us he was busting tables and resetting and helping other tables.
We also received our food before a couple that was there and had ordered before us. They did get up and leave without eating.
Probably won't go back!
Made a 615 pm reservation. Drinks served after 15 min. wait. Order was placed, at 7:30 after asking when our food would arrive my table was informed printer was down and no order placed. Other tables being seated after us were being served, that printer was working. SEEVICE UNACCEPTABLE WALKED OUT NO SERVICE NO FOOD!!
This was our second visit to Scotty's for dinner. Arrived just before 6 to find only 4 tables seated. By 7, the place was packed with quite a few folks waiting to be seated. For some reason, the service was quite slow, perhaps a few people were out. Multiple requests went unfulfilled, such a another glass of wine, water, dessert, etc. Food was ok/acceptable and we enjoyed the pear salad. The mussels were cooked through but the broth lacked any sense of taste. Still enjoyed the dinner overall and will try another night.
